Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice? in Health ·
I dealt with a perianal thrombosis so intense that the pain made it nearly impossible to even get up from my chair or bed. Not to mention how much it messed with my bathroom habits—I actually dealt with constipation for a week because I was too terrified of the pain to go. My doctors told me the thrombosis wouldn't resolve on its own and suggested a surgical incision since it was caused by a cluster of veins, but after about a month or two, it cleared up naturally just by adjusting my diet.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania (2023) in Movies ·
The way they introduced a new cosmic threat on par with Thanos was spot on. This Kang is portrayed as so ruthless that Ant-Man basically treats him like a child, and then Wasp delivers the final blow. To top it all off, after the fight, Ant-Man breaks down in tears and runs to hug Wasp, saying "don't let me go," while she comforts him like a restless baby.

We certainly can't let it slip that the four-letter agenda is running at full speed.

Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
Hi everyone, my family doctor's office was just shut down. I was told to head over to the Social Security Administration website to find a new primary care physician, but I'm having zero luck finding anyone. Could use some help here.
Jeans recommendations? in Fashion ·
Does anyone else here deal with excessive wear and tear in the crotch area?

Regardless of the cause, I just want to know how to reinforce that spot beforehand to prevent future issues. Would it work to just glue a patch of denim or leather on the inside? If so, what kind of adhesive should I use so there's no discoloration on the outside and the glue doesn't ruin the fabric?

God, I just realized Hooker knocked out Gilbert Burns a few years back... watching him go up against Chimaev will probably feel like witnessing a crime in the octagon.

To me, Hooker seems like a striker in the vein of Wonderboy—a point fighter with zero ground game. Those types don't really have a place in the octagon these days.

Paul Craig🙏 is such a submission specialist. He already choked out Ankalaev once, so I’m hoping a win over Smith earns him a much-deserved title shot.

I'm watching Paddy for the first time; he's great for marketing and has a voice as sweet as an American songbird like Josip Katalenic, but I wonder when the hype train will derail. He's too careless on his feet; someone is going to knock him out.
Arming Ukraine in War in Ukraine ·
Isn't providing this kind of heavy weaponry basically direct American involvement in the war at this point?

If the Russians start shelling NATO members, they'll have the perfect excuse to trigger a nuclear conflict where nobody wins—not even Russia.🙂

Jack Morgan2 said:Terrible movie! I should have known once I saw Peele was on the screenwriting team. It’s just another Black Lives Matter film where the Black characters are portrayed as perfect while the white characters are pure evil. I can't stand movies like this. The only white character who isn't a villain is the gay guy, because Hollywood refuses to show a gay person as anything other than good. Don't bother watching it!

It feels like an unwritten rule now: if a movie isn't politically correct, they shut it down immediately. They keep swapping out classic characters for diversity hires—like a Black woman being the new Iron Man or the new James Bond, or making the ruler of Asgard openly bisexual, or having Loki be genderfluid. Even men aren't allowed to be "macho" anymore without getting slapped with the "toxic masculinity" label.

I don't have a problem with these ideologies personally—I'm actually fine with most of them—but a movie shouldn't be used as a testing ground for social agendas. That's why so many of these films end up being total garbage.

Man, what a snooze fest. This was actually the first movie I’ve sat through in ages that put me straight to sleep. Kudos to them for that.

They should honestly strip the 'Horror' label off this thing and just call it a 'Drama.'

About 90% of the runtime is just rehashing the old Candyman legend. The few kill scenes they do include aren't scary at all, and the new version of Candyman is just lame—he lacks any sense of menace. Seeing Candyman with Alija... honestly, after watching this, the original from the 90s feels like a true horror masterpiece.

I don't want to sound like a chauvinist, but the second I saw a woman was directing, my expectations tanked. I figured there wouldn't be any genuine horror or grit here, just the usual predictable flop of another one of those woke, politically correct movies we see everywhere lately.
Candyman (2021) in Movies ·
People in the comments are claiming the movie is too political—something about the BLM movement—and that it loses its edge as a horror film. It feels like those woke remakes are already hitting hard, but this one just dropped and it's sitting at a 6.1 on IMDb.

Hi there,

In short: should I get my perianal thrombosis treated at a public hospital, or should I look into private options and laser surgery?

I’ve been told that the laser procedure is painless and requires zero downtime, whereas being cut with a scalpel is incredibly painful and involves a long recovery period.

What’s the reality here? What have your experiences been?
How to be a good person without being a doormat in Psychology ·
Being a good person doesn't mean you're weak.
It means you're powerful enough to choose not to abuse that power.
It seems like "intolerance toward intolerance" might be the only kind of tolerance we have left.
People, especially the younger generation, have become incredibly sensitive when it comes to politics. They dig their heels in and aren't afraid to jump straight into a heated argument. A group of old friends got together the other day, and predictably, things boiled over. You had one side rooting for labor unions and the other siding with liberals—everyone treats their own views like sacred scripture and refuses to budge. If there's any silver lining, it's that more people are actually paying attention to the political landscape that shapes our lives, whether we realize it or not. That’s a step in the right direction, don't you think?
Joseph Bailey41 said:What on earth does any of that have to do with spirituality? 🤔

Isn't being intolerant toward intolerance just another way to achieve personal growth?
We live in an era that supposedly champions liberalism and free speech, yet somehow, people have never been more easily offended by differing opinions.

Even self-proclaimed classical liberals—those who preach maximum freedom and tolerance—often act like tyrants toward anyone they disagree with. You see it all over social media: people blocking anyone with a different view, claiming that silencing dissent is somehow "liberal."

There are even plenty of high-profile CEOs and successful professionals who waste their precious time bickering with anonymous trolls online, simply because they don't share the same ideology.

It seems everyone is only "liberal" when it suits them; everyone thinks they're right and can't stand someone challenging their worldview.

Usually, religious fanatics are the first to come to mind, but fanaticism isn't just about faith. It exists everywhere. In reality, we’re all fanatics for our own beliefs, each trying to push our own specific agenda.

So, what’s the fix? How do we actually achieve true tolerance? Or is it impossible because we're all too busy viewing everything through our own narrow lens?
Hey everyone, I picked up a new laptop running Windows 10 about two weeks ago, but last week the headphone jack started acting up. The audio works fine through the laptop speakers, but once I plug in my headphones or external speakers, nothing happens—it just keeps playing through the laptop instead of switching over. I’ve done some digging online and tried a few things, like reinstalling the Intel audio drivers and even messing with the registry to disable front panel jack detection, but no luck. Interestingly, while I was reinstalling the Intel drivers, I accidentally left the headphones plugged in, and suddenly the sound actually switched to them! It's a partial fix, though, because as soon as I unplug them and plug them back in, it reverts to the laptop speakers. The only way to get it working again is to reinstall those Intel drivers while the headphones are already connected. Is this a hardware issue or a Windows glitch? It feels like it might have cropped up after a recent Windows update, but I can't say for sure.
The House That Jack Built (2018) in Movies ·
Great one! Not a single boring moment. Honestly, the killings were so brutal and morbid they almost felt darkly comedic... I really loved how the ending referenced Dante's Inferno. After all those murders, it’s wild to be told he didn't even land in the worst circle of hell, just a few levels above, while being a serial killer himself.
Ego vs. Spirituality in Spirituality ·
Joseph Bailey41 said:To me, it feels a lot like that old saying, "misery loves company." It’s as if someone isn't entirely secure in their own convictions or doesn't quite feel comfortable in their own skin, so they hunt for others who will validate them and tell them they’re still on the right track. In that sense, failure might actually be a more positive thing than success, simply because it eventually forces a person to face reality.

I completely agree. It’s tough for anyone when people start suggesting they might be wrong; maintaining your faith in something isn't easy. That's why spiritual fanaticism is dangerous in any form. Whether it's religious zealotry or just some freelance guru, it all leads to the same trap. Reaching the truth is a difficult journey.

Ego vs. Spirituality in Spirituality ·
mistybison said:Do you believe the ego acts as an obstacle to spiritual progress?

Is diminishing the ego a byproduct of spiritual growth, or is reducing the ego a prerequisite for that growth to begin?

Certain teachings focus on the total "dissolution of the ego." Do you think such a feat is actually possible, or perhaps even necessary?

How has your relationship with the ego evolved on your own path? Is it expanding, shrinking, or fading away? Or have you simply shifted your perspective regarding it?

In your view, what is the true definition of the ego from a spiritual standpoint?

It’s a massive hurdle because the ego just loves being right. You see it most clearly with extreme zealots who have zero tolerance for anything outside their bubble and an obsession with forcing their views on everyone else. I don't buy the idea that this comes from a place of pure altruism—like, "I found peace and want you to find it too." To me, it’s just the ego trying to prove it's right and everyone else is wrong.
