Soccer Club Kits, Vol. 1 in Soccer ·
Nice Blackburn kit, keeps things simple. Lyon's starter is alright, but the backup looks more like a sample for my grandma's couch fabric.
Dealing with jealousy in Psychology ·
Lawrence Torres56 said:Jealousy? Seriously? What’s even the point? If someone doesn't care about you and they're already halfway out the door, just let them go. Honestly, wouldn't it be better to deal with the breakup now rather than dragging out the misery later? But on the flip side, if that person actually loves you and all this insecurity is just some mental loop you're stuck in, you might want to take a hard look in the mirror and think about what you're actually throwing away with all those jealous outbursts... is that really the life you want?
And hey, if your partner is sitting right there in front of you, openly flirting or making comments about people around them, just relax—you're clearly their top priority. Trust me, if someone is actually cheating, they aren't going to broadcast it while you're watching; those things are always kept strictly under wraps.

Making comments like, "that coworker is really hot, and I think she likes me too," isn't exactly funny to everyone.

mellowowl38 said:Personally, I think the kit looks pretty decent. I doubt we'll get anything exactly like it, but it'll probably be in the same ballpark. For instance, teams like Standard, Napoli, the Scottish Representative, and Twente all use Dorian kits—just like us—and yeah, there are some obvious similarities between our gear and Napoli's, but everyone still keeps their own identity. Like, Napoli has that one stripe, while we go with multiple stripes and that checkerboard pattern on the edges; we have watermarks, they don't. Then you look at Standard, and nobody else even comes close to their style, much less the Scottish or European kits. Honestly? I’d actually stick with our current European kit; it might be one of our best designs ever. But this is how it works with Dorian: they don't have a massive roster of teams, so they try to personalize the kits to reel in new fans:

Standard:

We already saw Twente above

Napoli:

Scotland:

I’ve got this theory that our home and away kits will look something like the Napoli or Standard ones—you know, with a collar but without those obnoxious lines—while our European kit will look like the Scottish one: super simple and top-tier. And obviously, the crest stays on the left side.

I guess Scottish kits look best when they're a darker shade of blue. This one is pretty decent. I also really liked their jerseys from Euro '96—dark blue again, but with that tartan pattern.

New Russian kits—haha... feels like a total throwback to the Cold War era (and don't miss those alcoholic-looking socks)

It doesn't even say CCCP. 😢

So, is this the new San Diego jersey? If it is, it’s genuinely impressive. Finally, someone in the MLS actually understands what a good jersey looks like. 🙏

Pretty cool. They didn't ditch the blue and white tradition entirely, but they definitely went a different route. Kinda QPR style. 🙏 🙏

rowdyharbor24 said:Because the HNL has become such a visual snooze-fest of blue jerseys, a local Zadar news site just launched an initiative to get Zadar some more distinct, recognizable kits. Now we wait and see if the front office actually listens.

Seriously? I'd actually read that if you had any ideas for what they should look like. Got a link? 🙂

granitefox16 said:That’s a fair question, since some people have been hinting that it would be way easier for me or the Rangers fans to get past the fact that our goalie is Mexican, mostly because we don't carry that specific baggage around here.

To be honest, I have no idea where this whole Cleveland equals Mexicans equation came from. Cleveland was never part of Mexico, just like Chicago or Miami weren't. There have always been Mexicans in Cleveland, just like in Chicago or Miami, and there still are today—just fewer than before, I guess, since a lot of people moved away. Can someone actually explain that logic to me?

How much does it actually weigh on you guys that everyone loves to joke about or provoke you by claiming you're all just Mexicans?

Ha, I guess it eats at some people, while others couldn't care less. 😉

Terry Lee3 said:The management actually tightened things up right from the start. Hrvoje went down to Cleveland to finalize the deal, but once Abba reacted, they shut the whole process down and decided not to involve them. Then, after Radman had that little blunder at Dodger Stadium, the board brought him back in anyway. That’s when the relationship completely fell apart and the protests against the fishermen started. And honestly, nobody ever cheers for an octopus just because it saves a ball, and they certainly don't throw it praise afterward—and I'm talking specifically about Abba.

I guess Smith was already bought before Radman’s mistake; maybe he just wasn't registered or ready yet, something like that. I'm not sure. I also think Ježić brought him on partly out of spite toward Abba, just to show he wouldn't be dictated to. That's when the tension between Abba and the club really froze over. Since then, though, things have thawed out a bit, I suppose.
Watching Waterworld, I immediately thought, "this is just Mad Max on water." The costume design and the general vibe are almost identical—that whole post-apocalyptic wasteland setting after an ecological collapse. I tried watching it twice, but I couldn't get past the thirty-minute mark both times; it just felt exhausting. Maybe it's because Costner has never really done anything for me as an actor. I guess there’s just nothing particularly striking about him.

I guess after some pretty intense pushback early on, they're just reluctantly putting up with him now...

Larry Rivera83 said:Look, I wonder how many people actually got kicked off this forum because of that Zilic scandal.I guess I'm actually a little surprised by how much of a delay we're talking about here... maybe it just happened that fast.

Larry Rivera83 said:Everything checks out. Look, if you're going to go out of your way to trash the very group that basically built this city's identity, I guess you should probably be ready for the fallout.Look, I didn't agree with how they handled Zilic back then either, but it never crossed my mind to start trashing him. That would be like trashing myself. I mean, seriously, if this were actually a real issue—like, say, some massive rift caused by a goalie we brought in from out of state—it might be different. But this? Who's actually trying to divide us here?

I think you actually have an idea of who planned that attack. It definitely wasn't some group of old ladies from Monty Python. 😉

Larry Rivera83 said:Everything you said makes sense, but if you’re going to bash a group that basically built our city's identity, I guess you should expect some backlash. I didn't agree with how they handled Žilić either, but it never crossed my mind to just start trashing them. That feels like trashing myself. I mean, seriously, it would be one thing if this was a massive internal split caused by, I don't know, a goalkeeper we signed from some rival state... but this? Who is actually trying to divide us?

Personally, I enjoy reading this forum. I haven't noticed any official policy on forza-fiume.com to attack the Navy. Sure, there are individuals who criticize things, but honestly, who is such an untouchable saint that they can't be mentioned?

copperdriver21 said:2) I don't know anything about this beef with Forza-Fiume, but if it's just some random little reporter, I totally get it...

It's not about some reporter. It’s more about the fact that the vibe on this page and forum is just different from the Navy pages. I guess you could say the Navy forum is mostly for the Ultras, while this one is for everyone else.

Larry Rivera83 said:Honestly, I’m kind of surprised by how much people on this forum trashed them over that Žilić mess. It's weird how long it took for everyone to start reacting...

Anyway, the Navy released an official statement about the whole thing here:

They're obviously trying to distance themselves from everything, though it's pretty hard to ignore how much vitriol they're throwing at forza-fiume.com. This feels like more than just a reaction to a single "incident." You really think the Navy organized this?

Maybe you should just try bartending or something. Just to snap out of this funk and actually get moving. 😉
This knockout system would absolutely kill international football. I guess it won't happen; they'll probably just vote for more qualifying groups with fewer teams, which means fewer matches altogether.

Having 24 national teams at the European Championship? That’s basically half of the continent, which seems pretty pointless to me. Quality? It's just more dilution...

restlessridge10 said:I guess I have to laugh at myself because this is all starting to feel like typical American show business, and honestly, I actually enjoy watching American sports. Maybe that’s why I can't quite wrap my head around seeing this happen in Europe.

Look, when you get down to it, sports are becoming pure business. But in America, there are actual systems in place to keep things competitive, like the salary cap. In Europe, it feels like the rich just get richer while everyone else falls behind, which I think is killing off domestic leagues (especially in soccer). In Europe, those local leagues are the foundation of everything, whereas the continental cups are really just an extra layer on top.

Ever wonder where professional sports is actually headed? It feels like every other week we’re hearing about track stars, swimmers, or whatever athlete is getting caught using PEDs and having to hand back their Olympic gold or world records. Cycling—a sport I absolutely love—has basically lost all credibility at this point. Then you’ve got the betting scandals in tennis; it feels like there isn't a single discipline left that hasn't been tainted. The list of banned substances just keeps growing, too. Athletes seem willing to do anything just to chase another record or a bigger paycheck. I guess the question is, are we heading toward a future where they just scrap doping controls entirely and let everyone go wild, kind of like what Dustin Miller has suggested?
