It felt similar during a chat session the other night, when you both were frantically deleting things and flagging posts over nothing. For instance, when FF9 sent me something along the lines of "Angela Campbell84 is such a loser," it wasn't even an insult worth a second thought. It didn't need to be deleted or sanctioned because you saw for yourself that I just joked back and the conversation could have kept flowing fine... but still... deletions. This insistence on keeping the hangout thread perfectly sterile feels weird. Personally, I don't see the point or any benefit to the users here.🤷

I've been wondering if it's actually standard procedure for mods to slide into members' DMs with "advice" telling them to steer clear of certain subforums, or if some of them just enjoy acting like they own the place.

I’m not sure which mod handled the cleanup, though I assume someone did.

It feels like too many of my posts have been disappearing lately without any heads-up or reasoning, so I'd appreciate some clarity.

Unfortunately, no.
The registration date isn't actually what we look at when deciding whether to approve a name change for an inactive account.
For that kind of thing to happen, usually the user has basically zero posts, or if they do have them, they're all just 'junk' posts, and most importantly, they haven't logged into the forum in years—so it's pretty obvious the handle is just 'abandoned.' Only in cases like that would we even consider approving the change, so yeah, not happening here.
And Frank Reed4 was active recently, regardless of whether he's posting on this specific forum or not.

Then how come the system flags them as invalid right during registration?

Just a thought: if I’m ignoring someone, does that mean they’re automatically ignoring me too?

Or more specifically: can I actually control how much I see from certain users on this forum who just aren't really my vibe?

There isn't one. 😁 It's just that we don't really talk about "Yugoslavia songs" because the country doesn't exist anymore, which is why people use the "ex-" prefix (meaning former). You could still call them Yugoslavia hits, sure, but usually, people mean hits from the former Yugoslavia. We don't typically refer to the old federation itself, but rather the former one. It’s not meant to include every single song ever made by every nation that was once part of that union.

Obviously, the author can make their own rules. Just sayin.
