Since this thread doesn't really fit under the Health subforum anymore—especially now that we've got the new Food & Nutrition section up and running—I'm going to close this one out. Please move the conversation over to: Dieting in the Zone located in the correct subforum. Thanks.
Jamie Hughes8 said:Why even bother with a subforum? It is perfectly acceptable to start a thread on this forum centered around a specific topic, such as "true crime commentary." A user who finds something interesting posts a link, the **bolded title**, and their own comment. I don't see any reason to go making things more complicated than they need to be. 🤷
I think that would turn into a total mess, especially if people are trying to debate two or three different news stories all at once.
Nivea Soft absorbs really easily without feeling greasy. It works just as well on my face as it does on my body. There’s also this Baleine stuff you can grab at Target—it’s specifically for the face and has sunflower oil and some other ingredients; it's a bit heavier, but honestly, I think it's fantastic.
I've been struggling with skin issues because of my thyroid, and out of everything I've tried, these two have been the absolute best.
I found out that those chewable or dissolvable probiotics aren't meant to be swallowed whole. I'm guessing it's because they’re designed to be absorbed right in the mouth rather than waiting to hit the stomach or intestines. That's why I keep saying I don't see the harm in letting a chewable just melt in your mouth—it all mixes with saliva anyway while you're chewing, so part of it is getting absorbed orally regardless. 🤷

🙂
How does anyone even think to do something like that? On an eye? 🙂
Don't you think it's better to suck on it rather than just chewing? Sucking takes longer. 🙂 Honestly, I don't see why it would matter since both ways result in absorption right there in your mouth. It should be fine, 🤔
Jamie Clark74, I’ve noticed something. You constantly drag your health issues into your posts and complaints. Look, I feel for you—I really do. I get that being sick sucks and it's hard, but do you honestly think being ill is a free pass for everything? This forum has rules, and they need to be followed. If you break them, you get penalized. It’s just like real life; there are laws and regulations you have to follow regardless of how you're feeling.
I haven't been following your every move, but this jumped out at me. Every single time there's a complaint involved, you make sure to drop a report on your medical condition. I suspect people have been turning a blind eye to some of your behavior because of it, but you can't just do whatever you want on someone else's account. For God's sake, what would happen to the concept of health if everyone who was sick started acting out online and using their pain as an excuse? I think most people are sympathetic to someone dealing with illness—they know it isn't easy every day and they might give you a little leeway—but being sick isn't an excuse or an apology for being a jerk.
Is anyone taking anything for their stomach? You should look into Controloc or something similar; it basically creates a protective lining in your stomach so the meds don't tear it up quite as much. Most people who are on daily stuff like steroids or Advil take something like that, otherwise, your stomach is just going to be trashed after a while eventually.

Honestly, you're better off just uninstalling your antivirus. It’s nothing but a resource hog. Just run manual cleanups with tools like Hijackthis every now and then. Most people make viruses out to be way more dangerous than they actually are. 🙂
Not dangerous? Really? Then I guess there's no other explanation for why most people who get infected end up blowing money at a local repair shop to get their PCs fixed.
Besides, I have no idea which antivirus is supposedly eating up enough resources to justify a full uninstallation. 🤷 Mine stays active all the time and I don't even notice it running, let alone taking up any meaningful space on my drive.
granitegull51, McAfee is one of the top antiviruses out there. How can you call it crap when it actually caught something that other programs missed?🤷
They probably didn't find anything because most people already have their ads blocked. 😁The last two times something like this popped up, it was all just an issue with advertisements.

What browser are you using? If you're on Firefox, just install AdBlock. It makes surfing the web a breeze—none of that garbage popping up everywhere.
I’ve seen some business owners on this forum claiming they can’t wrap their heads around why people with a stomach bug would stay home instead of dragging themselves into the office. They say they’d show up regardless. Well, let me tell you something: if you’re dealing with a boss like that, you have to explain that you aren't coming in because you don't know how many times you've been stuck in the bathroom, and frankly, you don't feel like infecting half the department or the entire company.
Then there was that one user recently who mentioned she suspects she might have tuberculosis, but she isn't going to get tested the "normal" way because if the results come back positive, she'll be hospitalized—and she just can't afford to miss work.
Look, I get it. Sometimes people are backed into a corner where it’s either work or getting a medical leave notice, but I honestly can't wrap my head around being that reckless with things like TB or chickenpox. It's highly contagious. At the end of the day, I don't care what anyone does with their own health, but don't go making it everyone else's problem.🤷
If you start charging them for those half-empty boxes they lug into the pharmacy—pills they haven't even touched—they’ll just stop bringing them in and toss them in the trash wherever. I honestly have no clue how to deal with that, much less the crowd that swallows half an antibiotic pack, feels fine, and saves the rest for "later." You might be able to educate the second group, but how do you handle the types > is talking about? 🤷
edit: >, you've also got the chronic patients who systematically hike up their prescriptions and dump the meds without ever taking them. They know if they tell the doctor they don't want the pills, the doc won't order the tests, so they manipulate the system to control their own health (whether they're actually taking the meds or just sticking to some alternative remedy).
