Bronze Medal Match: USA vs. Norway (31-24) in Other Sports ·
If they actually had a decent coach, they’d be fighting for the gold right now against an opponent they should be absolutely crushing...

Way to go, guys.

In the end, we're the only ones who actually broke the Norwegians. 🙏
Well, maybe not Iceland anymore...

Alilović played his part in goal—coach made the call. 👍
So he’s starting against Norway.

rapidraven20 said:the French were way better and still got knocked out, while we made the semis 😁 so honestly, we hit our peak thanks to a bit of luck—there's zero reason to be bummed, if anything.

Spot on. Making the semifinals was basically the goal from day one, so whatever happens next, happens. We played out of our minds to get there. When you look at the big picture, we crushed it... finished ahead of the French and the Danes 😁

Is it even possible that Alilović isn't in the net? We finally have him in there now...

Is Alilovic in goal? Hell yeah, he is—let's go get that connection! 🙏

Nobody knows why—except maybe Babić.

Their defense is absolute garbage. I can't even put it on Alilović—they’re letting everything slide right through the paint, and now this guy's just standing at the 6-meter line taking shots whenever he feels like it. 🤦

Late tonight, the biggest hurricane ever recorded is gonna slam into the coast of Mexico. It might even hit Category 5 status when it makes landfall. A total monster...

Rocky is a legend. I just never understood how he actually managed to take down that Russian guy who looks like he could kill a bull with a single punch. He basically let him ☕

The thing is, that’s not even how the situation works in the movie. Sure, twenty years passed for him, but he knew only a few hours had ticked by for the people on Earth—he knew things probably went sideways and they were scrambling to fix the mess. They were on a mission to save the entire human race, for crying out loud.
If I were in his shoes? I would’ve just carried on with life the second they left, knowing I’d be stuck alone on that ship for years. Yeah, I’d keep the mission in mind because it matters, but I wouldn't be sitting there trembling by the window waiting for them to come back. I’d go to sleep like he did, wake up, check the status, and see what happened. I’d try to find "God" or whatever hell else is out there, or just actually *do* something with my life. I wouldn't spend my whole existence just... waiting. Then again, given how massive the mission was, I guess the weight of it would be in the back of my mind—just hoping I wasn't making everything pointless.
That's just me philosophizing, obviously. How I’d actually react? Who knows. I’d probably die of pure boredom. Or maybe I'd become some legendary StarCraft pro. Who knows. Obviously, I wouldn't be the same person after twenty years—I'm not even the same person after a single year. But reaching that kind of Zen-like calm? I don't know... I'm not ignoring the fact that he was alone for two decades, it's just hard to wrap my head around how anyone actually functions like that in practice.

Look, we're just playing "what if." Who cares about the screenwriters? ^^

Matthew Anderson4 said:Glad you're happy about it. Still surprised though—you're telling me someone spending 20 years alone, just stuck with themselves, ends up perfectly zen? Maybe start Googling now instead of waiting.

Believe it or not, you’re the first person to tell me this whole sequence makes perfect sense and is totally expected. Look, I haven't been deep-diving through the comments above where you probably have more people agreeing with you, but seriously—everyone I've talked to about that scene in Interstellar has said it’s anything but realistic. That's why it's so wild to me that in your circle, nobody thinks that scene is even remotely unrealistic (guessing that's why you're surprised). Honestly, I was the one caught off guard when you told me it actually felt logical to you.

There's a massive difference between "waiting years to leave forced isolation" and "choosing to stay isolated for years waiting for someone to come back." The first scenario fits what you described way better... the second one sounds like straight-up sci-fi—like they'd just sit there like a wooden doll without a single emotion left. It's like they realized halfway through they weren't even waiting for anyone, they were just hunting for some Zen god on that spaceship because that's their whole purpose in life. But hey, maybe it helps if you realize I'm no expert on all this Zen enlightenment crap. I'm sure Buddha has his own ways of checking out from the world and turning into a total robot.

Hard to believe—honestly? No. Does it feel sketchy as hell to me? Yeah, absolutely. But look, I’ll be the first to admit I have zero clue what actually happens to a person after spending that many years in total isolation... I don't know what the psych studies even say about it. If being completely checked out is actually a real thing you can expect after all that time, then fine, maybe I'll learn something new about how the human brain works. Might just Google some stuff later before I get too lazy to care...

Jack Murphy5 said:The absolute worst part of Interstellar is that five-minute sequence where some guy has to explain the entire mechanics of space travel to Cooper—the very man who was entrusted with the whole mission. To make matters even more ridiculous, he actually ends up sketching it out on paper at the end. Like, come on. Give me a break.

For me, the worst scene was when that dude met them back on the ship after they left that planet. He’d been up there alone for like 20-something years and said he hadn't slept for ages. But then he greets them like they just popped out to the corner store for milk... zero emotion after all that time. I was expecting some massive breakdown or at least him acting totally unhinged from being isolated for years with nothing but messages from Earth. They completely botched that part—I was sitting there thinking, what the hell? You're really gonna ignore the fact that the guy was alone for a decade...

Look, out of all those other movies, I guess that garbage movie, Need for Speed, was actually decent enough to watch. 😵
The lead actress is a total knockout, the cars are awesome, and honestly, who cares about anything else? ☕
It just reminded me that I still haven't sat down to watch the latest Fast & Furious.
