Got a question here—and look, I don't have all the specifics because I'm asking for someone else, but I can dig up more details if needed.

Basically, this Dell Inspiron with an i5 that's maybe two years old got sent in for repairs. Someone spilled water all over the keyboard, and now the LCD connector on the motherboard is fried along with the LCD cable. The repair shop is talking about replacing the whole motherboard and a new LCD cable.

How bad is this damage actually, and is it even worth fixing? Like, do they seriously need a brand-new motherboard or is there some other way to patch it up? Anyone got any advice on this mess?
