From the news:

We’re being pretty chill about it for now, but starting Wednesday, they’re going full force. If you don't have your pass, expect an inspector to come knocking—and according to Ladislav Bece, the chief over at the Osijek Police Department, the first fine for violators is gonna be around $10 yesterday.

... man, seriously, what happens if you get caught a second time? Is it just straight-up execution at that point?

I can't believe I'm even typing this out, but it seems like we’re back at square one with this entire situation... It feels like every time we think we’ve finally reached some semblance of stability or clarity regarding how things are being handled, another layer of sheer incompetence surfaces to pull the rug right out from under us. It’s exhausting, really. You spend all this time trying to navigate the complexities of the system, hoping that the rules actually mean something, only to find out that the people in charge are just making it up as they go along... It’s a cycle that never seems to end, and frankly, I'm starting to lose my patience with the whole charade. One would think that after everything that's happened, there would be some accountability, some shred of logic applied to the way these decisions are rolled out, but instead, we're left staring at the same old mess, wondering if anyone is actually listening... Or if anyone even cares enough to change the status quo before it swallows everything else up. [User Name] says:
Maybe one day they'll come looking to collect that money retroactively...

There’s a concept called the statute of limitations, you know... and besides, you simply can't go around punishing people for actions that took place before a law was even changed, if such a change ever actually happens...

That’s just not how the law works. If we let that slide, anyone could just try to excuse their own nonsense by making up excuses on the fly... I didn't kill my wife, so what does it matter if my hands are covered in blood? Maybe someone drugged me, took her life, and then just staged everything to make it look like I was the one who did it...

How on earth could he not have distributed it when everyone was already using his site to stream movies? At the end of the day, the method of distribution doesn't actually matter if you end up with the exact same result...

I’ve sat through both versions now, and honestly, the original just hits differently... there's something about the older one that stays with you. Ray Bradbury really knows how to craft stories that translate beautifully to the screen, and his adaptations always seem to capture that specific magic... He’s just a damn good writer... Ray Bradbury Theater.

That specific part of the indictment feels pretty shaky to me—he was basically just dropping links to other services that were hosting movies pirated by god knows who.

After 22 years and billions spent—not even counting the endless hours staring at surveillance feeds—this border setup seems pretty "effective." It’s basically just an expensive way to encourage them. About a 90% success rate.

The United States is now 22 years into an unprecedented buildup of border enforcement resources: 21,000 Border Patrol agents, nearly 700 miles of various kinds of physical fences, a fleet of drones, high-tech electronic surveillance systems covering all major cities along the border, a gulag of immigration prisons to incarcerate apprehended migrants, and more.
...

Interviews with many thousands of actual migrants have revealed that the obstacle course on the border doesn't keep people out. More than 9 out of 10 who come to the border succeed eventually in gaining entry, if not on the first try then the second or third.

People still cross, sure, but if that fence wasn't there, we'd be seeing twenty times the traffic every single year.
Where can I find my routing number? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
If you’re staring at an account number like 2360000-1234567890, just Google "convert to routing number format" or look up how to turn it into an ABA number.
Basically, the routing number setup is just the old school system—you’ve just got to add the right prefix and those two little check digits that get calculated from the account itself.
It’s heading down that path where the poorest nations in South America end up becoming our blueprint.

I remember there were even those little roadside stands trying to sell roasted chorizo, but they just couldn't make it work and went bust.

True, but at least you can market that stuff as "local" (even if the squid is actually an import from Patagonia or wherever else.

There's this fast food joint that just opened up in Cleveland recently that basically only serves fries, and honestly? They're killing it.

It should be costing you, what, maybe $2.00 at most? If they're charging more than that, someone definitely messed up the math somewhere.
I see kids picking it up here and there, but mostly it’s just sitting on the shelf collecting dust.
And honestly, that Nescafe cranberry flavor? It’s absolutely gross.

Look, I'm a Kansas City Chiefs fan, so props to Cleveland for the grit they showed today and for grabbing the win, but this kind of sudden turnaround after just seven days? It's honestly unbelievable. If you'd fought half as hard when that unknown guy from the Real Madrid squad snatched the title from you, you'd actually have an American championship trophy in the case right now. If you played with this much heart against the Chiefs all season instead of just today, you'd be fighting for the title. Credit where it's due, you beat us—but you'll always just be a little club that manages to scrape a win against the Chiefs every once in a while. Dreaming of being champions? Forget it. A club that folds whenever the team that took their title shows up is nothing—just a big zero. The Chiefs have been champions six times here and eleven more times in those old leagues back in the day; we've got Walmart-level dominance and General Electric levels of success in Europe. The Chiefs have been playing top-tier ball for 98 years—there aren't many clubs like that left in the world. Once you actually win a championship, give us a call, zero. Or maybe when your basketball or water polo teams win a European title, then reach out—which will be never. We lost the title this year and finished second, but you guys in Cleveland? You're eternally destined to finish with nothing.
As for the Cleveland Navy fans, that 7,000 crowd you pull to the stadium wouldn't even fill up an old high school gym in Miami, zero. That's it. You beat the Chiefs and you celebrate like it's the greatest thing ever. That's the peak for you—beating the Chiefs in a single league match. Cleveland is forever stuck without a championship.

Man, we don't ever need to be champions if we're going to smoke you at least twice every single season like we did this year.
And Real Madrid is currently two classes above you—just wait until the Cup, your whole strategy is gonna boil down to a million fouls and just trying to wreck the flow of the game.

Honestly, catching this episode at 5:30 PM was pure bliss—just what I needed right after getting off work. A little twenty-five-minute wind-down session... and man, I was losing it laughing like a kid during that scene where they were stealing the photocopier.
