I’ve been watching a lot of college sports lately, and it’s crazy how much the national media tends to obsess over the same three or four flashy names every single year. It feels like if you aren't playing for a blue-blood program with a massive budget, nobody even bothers to look at your stats. You can be playing incredibly efficient, smart football, but if you aren't in the spotlight, you're basically invisible to the pundits.
It's actually kind of frustrating to watch. I remember following a few different players back in the day who everyone called "mediocre" or "unproven," only to see them absolutely dominate the league a year later once they finally got their shot. There’s always that one player in every conference who is just waiting for the right system or the right coaching staff to catch fire, and by the time the rest of the world notices, they're already winning championships.
I feel like we’re overdue for a breakout from one of the teams that everyone currently writes off. Who is a player you think is being totally overlooked right now just because they aren't at a "prestigious" school?
Not like this color actually makes it any easier to see 😁
Looks like the whining against the Great

has already kicked off.
A bit of a soft launch... just some old relics 🙏
You didn't actually offend anyone, though it looks like you managed to get under my skin. So why don't you enlighten us on why this topic even needs to exist? 🙂
Well, damn... he had a different take, but hey, if we don't keep this thread alive, it’s gone.
Car enthusiasts are a weird bunch. You've got people who clearly have too much free time on their hands and nothing better to do than troll everyone else. Every thread starts out fine, then someone mentions one specific thing and everything goes to hell. We’ve had threads like the one you're asking for plenty of times before. We could let it happen again, but it’ll end the exact same way. This isn't a social club; if you care about something, post it, and if you don't, just scroll past. But everyone feels the need to chime in just to prove someone else wrong. 🤣
So you changed your mind about us because we don't see the point in a thread like this? What can I say? Like I said, there are dedicated threads for that where people actually swap useful info. All this stuff about who drives what, mileage, or "hunting lists"—it's just exhausting. As mods who have been doing this forever, we already know how these things play out. You said you aren't interested in the bickering. Well, neither are we, which is why we don't think a thread like this is necessary. We moved past the stage of letting things spiral just to wait for the inevitable meltdown a long time ago. We know exactly how a thread about NHTSA ratings is going to end, or how a debate about Chinese imports or torque specs will go. We let those run for a bit so people can vent. But as for who owns what car? Honestly, I couldn't care less. If I want to know what people are driving, I'll check the specific enthusiast threads.
So what's the move? Let you open it just so we can sit around waiting for the nonsense to start? It's winter, people are bored at home, and all that... if you're that desperate, go ahead and start it, and enjoy it while we're still deciding whether to scrap it. 🙂

I haven't even been on the forum lately, so I assume one of those two mods decided to pull the plug...
Why? We've seen this before. People jump into a thread and start arguing over nothing, so they lock it. Now, they’re just locking them instantly.
Plus, I don't see the point of this thread or what it actually brings to the table. 🤷 If people want to talk about a specific car, they go to the dedicated threads for it and swap stories there.
I wouldn't bet on Kimi taking the title; honestly, Sebastian Vettel is the clear favorite right now, mostly just because his car is actually decent. But hey, there are still five races left and plenty of points up for grabs

This is easily the best video I’ve found to actually make sense of this whole mess.
Based on this, if they applied the rules from Indy, it would be a drive-through penalty for Alonso... but luckily they didn't, because he didn't deserve it.
If you look closely, Kimi's front wing was already ahead of Fernando's rear left tire before contact.
The key part is from 0:34 to 0:40.
I still don't get how those first five seconds of footage from this morning weren't enough for you to see what happened.
I even suggested earlier today that people check out the Sky analysis—that computer animation someone posted shows the exact positioning of the cars—but no... everyone's been screaming all day (and night) that Kimi is the one at fault.
Edward Howard2 said:Kimi's the one to blame for this mess because he... He stupidly tried to go through where there was no way through. That corner is just too tight. Once Kimi realized he didn't have enough speed to pull off the pass before hitting the turn, it was game over. Plus, he probably saw Button coming up on Alonso's right side.He just needed to chill out a bit instead of being so stubborn and running headfirst into a wall. Alonso had every right to shut the door on him; there was zero chance Kimi was getting past there. Kimi didn't hold his line well enough to force Lonzo to move over and give him space on the right. Kimi caused that crash.Nah, I don't think he deserves a penalty. It happened right at the start during turn one, and he isn't exactly the type to go looking for trouble like that. Most other drivers have already picked up penalties today just for being reckless or too stubborn for their own good.
If I were a mod on this forum, I’d be getting permabanned, for real. 🤣
This is absolutely ridiculous. 🙏 I can't even wrap my head around how someone could actually believe this. I'm assuming he's just trolling. If he's being serious, then I'm genuinely speechless.
That Button part was top tier. 🤣 🤣 🤣
Edward Howard2 said:so when hamilton starts crying on the team radio because charles is holding him up during the third practice session at Indianapolis (yeah... practice), suddenly the same guy who was just dropping 🙂 smirks about alonso (shoutout to Michael Lee4), goes completely silent??
Maybe he's quiet because he has no clue what you're talking about, or he missed it entirely because he was busy sleeping.
Raymond Anderson4 said:We really need to see the onboard footage from Kimiev's car... that's the only way to know for sure what actually happened.
That'll confirm it, but this won't? Is it not obvious what happened in this clip? You can see it perfectly clearly in the first five seconds.
analogwolf12 said:Hey F1 fans! Been following this sport for over 30 years now. Obviously caught the race this morning too. Is it Kimi's fault or Alonso's? In my book, that's just how racing goes. But the real question is: what is Alonso thinking!? He's got a 30-point lead, and he still chooses to dive in with Kimi? And Kimi just doesn't budge—he doesn't care who's fighting for the title ! If he had just let him through, he probably would've finished the race and walked away with some points.
Not really... he actually had a scrap with Lewis after he exited the pits, and then he backed off to avoid the contact.
Raymond Anderson4 said:Fernando Alonso is getting back on track... Kimi Raikkonen's issue was being too stubborn about his line, especially in a spot where he couldn't pass anyway... there was zero chance he was going around the outside.
Just ease off the gas a bit.
Why on earth would Fernando move out of the way and give someone space just because the driver behind misjudged everything and tried to force a gap where none existed?
What "racing line" are we talking about at the start of the race? What are you guys even on about?
Why would Fernando move? Kimi is the one who didn't move, mostly because he had nowhere else to go. He drove right into him. Is it really that hard to watch this http://videa.hu/videok/sport/f1-2012...d87Sb3Ibg51vQP , shut your eyes, and stop looking for problems where nobody sees them except you blind fans?
Roger Wright94 said:What's the issue?
The issue? Probably just the fact that you root for Ferrari. That'll make you blind to anything obvious. 😁
It’s hilarious how every commentator overseas can see Kimi isn't at fault. Apparently, the only ones who think he's to blame are the forum trolls and, obviously, the Ferrari fans.
Go ahead, pull up an analysis from Sky with some multi-angle replays and computer graphics circling the car. Then you'll actually see the line Fernando Alonso was taking...
steelmaker83 said:Oh yeah, and it’s hilarious how you haters finally crawled out of your caves... lol...
You guys spent three years eating dust, and now you’re all jumping down my throat the second there’s even a hint that Alonso might have made a tiny mistake...
Lol...
I’m not hating on anyone; I post for every single race. The only reason I even bother typing is because you lot refuse to acknowledge what's right in front of you. If a few of you didn't spend all your time blaming everyone else for your hero's blunders, I wouldn't have anything to say. Honestly, just stay quiet instead of embarrassing yourselves, and nobody would even mention Alonso.
Tyler Bennett5 said:And don't forget to mention that Grosjean will definitely be starting from the pit lane.
At least 30 seconds after everyone else clears the first corner.
Send Grožjan out to play golf for the rest of the season.
Though he'd probably suck at that too.😬

Roger Wright94 said:Flawless drive and a win for Vettel, just like I expected.
Honestly, I'm losing my mind over this Lotus crew. Anyone else seeing this?
First you've got that wrecking ball who clearly hasn't learned a thing, and now this absolute clown knocks the championship leader out in the very first turn.
What was Kimi even thinking trying to force it on the left side today? He was obviously slower. Was there actually a thought process happening there at all?
Alonso was pure class. He wasn't pushing him; he was just faster, and there was no room on the right because the track narrowed. Kimi only caught spray once Alonso was already well ahead. I don't see a single mistake.
I'm fuming. I need to go grab a drink and cool off.
Yeah, right... go cool off, then come back and watch this
http://videa.hu/videok/sport/f1-2012...d87Sb3Ibg51vQPThe track narrowed? Yeah, sure, pull the other one. 🤣
Alonso was bullying Kimi the whole time. From the moment they crossed over, it was constant pressure.
Fine then... I guess we should just pass a rule that everyone has to get out of the way for the championship leader (provided he's driving a Ferrari and his name is Alonso). Better yet, let's just start the race based on the standings and give a one-second gap for every point of difference on the starting grid.
