After some serious back-and-forth consulting between the foodies and the health nuts, we’ve finally reached a verdict: we’re sticking strictly to gastronomy.
bluerider41 said:You can't just joke around when it comes to someone's actual life. What they're mocking is reality to me, so I don't find it funny—it’s tasteless. It shouldn't be tolerated just because it's happening on MK. I started a thread about dogs and used the term "cranky old ladies" to describe those walking them, and my intro was wiped and the whole thread stolen. Basically, my input isn't respected. Double standards everywhere. Well, not on my watch. Just because some group of guys thinks it's hilarious doesn't make it okay, and it shouldn't be allowed. I'll take this straight to Anderlon and tear this whole thing down because this behavior is completely unhinged.
And here I was thinking this whole crusade to kick moderators out was actually about a deleted post containing age discrimination... You just picked the wrong example, because let's be real—everyone here knows MK is a place for messing around. It's the same logic as the Pets subforum; it's not the place to go and debate how elderly people are basically useless while the youth are "hype" and "super cool."
First off—mods shouldn't be out here editing posts. If a post is inappropriate, give it a warning or just delete it. Period.
Look at this thread. The title is basically "stealing someone else's pets..." and then the opening post goes straight to insulting old ladies versus young people.
I can see how that kind of attitude would be offensive, and I get why a mod wouldn't want that kind of toxic debate happening in the Pets subforum.
Secondly—bringing up moderation issues in the thread itself is totally off-topic. It shouldn't have been added to the opening post. That’s just one more reason the whole thing should've been nuked from the start.
Unfortunately, there are times when you just have to pull the trigger on a partial ban. I honestly don't see how you can sit there and claim you haven't broken a single rule on this Reddit thread—you’ve violated them constantly, quite frankly. This isn't some grand moderator conspiracy... the issue is simply your attitude and the way you talk to people.
I am looking for a brief explanation as to what the actual problem is with this post... basically, why did I get flagged/banned..!? Look, this is supposed to be a forum where people can actually debate things... regardless of whether my opinion happens to clash with whatever moderator is on duty today.
I stayed on topic, I wasn't spamming... if anyone was being irrelevant, it was the moderator himself. I get that he might not like my take, but that shouldn't give him the right to be biased just because he holds the power.
So, one guy asked, "how can someone drink in New York City if they're under 21"...
And I responded by saying you'd "have to make a fake ID that says you're over 21." That's a common enough occurrence in the US, especially with older teenagers in NYC. Yet, here we have a moderator starting to act like a cop, censoring everything and now handing out penalties. Based on all of this, it is incredibly obvious that THIS POST WAS NEITHER SPAM NOR AN INCITEMENT TO SERIOUS FELONIES... even though the moderator is trying to "put words in my mouth." He’s just trying to reduce complex issues down to this shallow level because he can't handle the argument.
Please provide an objective analysis, if such a thing is even possible here.
Thanks.
That post deserved a flag too—pure ad hominem attack.
Plus, commenting on how the mods work? That's off-topic.
The last Gladiator post on the Borrego Springs thread was nuked because it veered into off-topic territory—specifically, someone decided to start nitpicking the moderation regarding the Borrego Springs topic. A few other older posts were tossed out too, mostly for breaking some of our other house rules.
It’s exactly what I pointed out yesterday around noon in the thread...
I actually know a company that specializes in both entryways and interior doors, yet they have "interior" right there in their business name 😬
Look, I don't see why everyone is making such a massive deal out of this. An apartment's front door is located within the confines of a building or a specific living space. Choosing to buy or swap out those entrance doors is fundamentally linked
to the whole process of interior design and stuff like that.
And honestly, I don't think the lack of instant replies is because people are posting in the interior design section. Also, I think saying that almost nobody visits the interior subforum
If this is supposedly the peak of his career—and I'm not even talking about winning an Olympic gold medal here—then honestly, it’s probably for the best that he moved on...
I’ve been admitted everywhere I’ve ever wanted to go, honestly. And those referrals? They never even specified which hospital or facility they were actually for...
The referral slips don't even list the specific hospital where you're supposed to go🤷 At least, not on the ones my doctor hands me... It’s enough to just show up at whichever hospital you want with the referral in hand.
