Look, I’m not saying he was hit in two different spots—on his chin from below and the back of his head... but in this country, anything can happen. Maybe the guy just tripped on a sidewalk, slammed his chin, and then cracked the back of his skull?
Given the injuries, the story his colleague Horvat is telling actually holds water. When someone pins you against a wall, they usually try to shove you, right? It's a natural reflex to jerk your head up when someone's forcing you into a wall... and that leaves your chin wide open to take the hit.
goldenowl73 is a totally biased moderator who doesn't even follow politics. He barely looks at the threads, and when he finally does, he trips over his own feet trying to shut down anyone with right-leaning views or anyone who dares to disagree with his worldview.
The only saving grace is that he’s rarely actually around.
Then you've got Sam Green73, a veteran hush-money type who shuts down any topic he doesn't personally like. He acts like a bodyguard for a handful of specific politicians and parties, and somehow people have just tolerated it for years...
I honestly don't get it. If you actually want a decent discussion, why wouldn't you kick these types off the moderation team? Instead, they just let them run wild.
And let's be real—I'd probably flag some "right-wing" posts too, maybe even harsher than these mods do. But what these two are doing isn't moderation. It's manipulation. They aren't policing content; they're using their power to force every conversation into their own political bubble.
Charles Fox10 said:The system works through moderator oversight and user reports; that’s just how it is. You’re digging up posts from 2011—which doesn't necessarily mean you're wrong, but dragging them out here in 2013 to claim you're being unfairly insulted, while labeling others as provocateurs or ignorant, simply isn't a good look.
And who exactly is being accused of "locating" you or Vladimir Šeks? He said he wanted to "uncover" things; is the issue really with his wording or the actual meaning behind it?
I’ve never done a formal analysis, but I’d venture to say that on days when the Politics PDF sees over 1,000 posts on dozens of topics, expecting perfection is a tall order. If a post rubs you the wrong way, just report it. Once 24 hours have passed, reach out to one of us via PM to ask about it, and you’ll surely get a solid answer.
The truth is, you mods just make arbitrary calls based on your own political biases and personal agendas.
Carol Torres4 is a guy who has written a massive amount of legendary posts here; he’s basically the soul of this forum. You hate him because he writes with actual arguments and you can't beat him on facts. So instead, you let your ideological lapdogs provoke him until he uses one specific phrase in the heat of battle, and then—BAM—you ban him with everything you've got.
It’s been proven countless times that you're biased and that your moderation is unfair. It's been proven that you're willing to lie. Everything has been proven. But nothing changes because the same crew has been running the politics section for years. It's a clique that knows exactly how to eliminate anyone they don't like using tried and true methods.
In an era where a single mayoral candidate can have a troll office staffed by six college students dedicated to trolling forums, I find it hard to believe that the biggest forum in the country is completely independent. I don't believe political parties aren't watching these threads. Honestly? I suspect some mods might even be on a payroll—not necessarily from Under Armour, but at least driven by pure ideology.
Carol Torres4 is giving you a very simple litmus test for your moderation. Swap out Zvone Bušić or Boris Šprem in the text and ask yourselves: would you ban them?
Swap out a conservative family rights activist getting slapped in the face by a post celebrating a gay activist, and tell me: would you delete that too?
But no, you'll just keep banning and deleting based solely on your beliefs. For certain people, there will only ever be one thread (if you can even find one specific blunder among all the trash and trolling), while for everyone else, there are seven different open discussions...
And yeah, if you lose Carol Torres4, you’re idiots. His contribution to this place is huge—so huge you should probably be paying him. I honestly think the guy practically dismantled the UZP in The Hague with his posts...
Charles Fox10 said:Whether he’ll feel bad about it? Who knows. But since you've decided to play judge, jury, and executioner, let's leave that for the admins to handle. If anyone actually wants my take, I know exactly which paragraph in that post missed the mark by my standards—and honestly, I suspect she and I are looking at the same exact thing.
It seems like you and our colleague are cut from the same cloth, which explains why your opinions are so perfectly synced up...
You’ll always find a way to bend your "standards" just to back her decision. Luckily, this post isn't hidden; everyone can see it—including those of us who aren't part of your little clique. Anyone can see exactly which part violated the forum rules. And if I end up scrolling through all 186 pages only to find dozens of similar posts that you two conveniently ignored without handing out 500-point penalties, then we'll have our answer.
Having a reason to issue a penalty doesn't matter nearly as much as having the integrity to stand behind it.
Charles Fox10 said:I wiped the thread, and the answer is no. You aren't getting a strike just because you feel like it; we don't moderate based on personal whims. As for your complaint about the strike our colleague received from the moderator—administration will look into it. We'll see if he actually decides to appeal his strike.
How many strikes has this guy actually handed out? Don't get too ahead of yourself just because he’s acting proud. And let's be real, that pride won't last long. He’ll be laying low for at least two months, so he won't be posting much against anyone soon enough.
The admins are going to review this regardless of whether he files a formal appeal. There's no way they're going to back such an embarrassing mistake just because nobody filed a direct complaint through the official channels.
Elsa, this ban of yours is an absolute joke. Honestly, you might as well just come after me next, since you clearly have no problem targeting Marasovac too.
There isn’t a single shred of hate speech in his post. This ban is nothing more than proof that someone simply can't handle a well-reasoned argument from a guy who is actually respected and whose opinion carries weight around here.
So, in a show of solidarity with Marasovac, I’m asking for a 500-point penalty myself. I’m calling on all the decent users out there to join me in doing the same.
This moderation decision is an embarrassment.
They deleted my post in the main thread, so I’m putting it here. If I don't get flagged for hate speech, I'll certainly try my hardest to earn it.
Just to be clear, I’m not whining about my ban. Honestly? I earned it.
I think the guy deserved a ban at the very least for being insulting, though honestly, it leans more toward hate speech. It's not just calling people from other parts of the US "trash"; he's actually labeling them with extremist political slurs.
Targeting a specific group of people like that is straight-up spreading hate. If we call gay people "sick," we might get flagged for trolling, but if we start using racial slurs against the Roman community, we aren't getting hit with a trolling warning—we're getting slapped with a hate speech violation.
But apparently, you can call people with certain patriotic views whatever you want, and that’s considered nothing more than "lighthearted trolling."
Paladin? Really? You’re actually going to go with that? I mean, sure, if you want to play the part of the shiny, self-righteous hero who follows every single rule to the letter, then knock yourself out. It’s the classic choice for people who like feeling morally superior while everyone else is actually having fun. But let’s be honest—how many times are we going to see the same "holy warrior" trope before it gets old? It’s predictable. It’s safe. Is there actually any room for nuance there, or are you just looking for an excuse to hit things with a glowing hammer? Just saying. kaže: I’d bet my life savings on it—at least two-thirds of these losers are total frauds.
Trolling: 35 points!
Living on the edge? Please. Most people don't even know where the edge is, let alone how to stand on it. They spend their whole lives playing it safe, staying inside the lines, terrified of a little friction. But you want to talk about real risk? Real intensity? That’s not some calculated move you make once a year during a vacation. It’s a mindset. It’s knowing that everything can shift in a heartbeat and deciding you don't care. Is it dangerous? Absolutely. Is it worth it? If you're actually living, there's no other way to be. kaže: Hey, Paul Green31,
You’ve just been flagged for an infraction on Reddit.
Reason: Insulting other users on Reddit. -------
-------
This violation hits you with a 45-point penalty, and don't think you're getting away easily—you might find yourself locked out of the site until this clears. And just so we're clear? The serious stuff stays on your record forever. No expiration date. No second chances.
Original Post: I can't believe people actually fall for this stuff. Seriously, how much more can we take? Every single day it’s a new scheme, a new lie, a new way to drain someone's bank account while they smile and say "thank you." Does anyone actually think the system is looking out for them? Please. It's all just smoke and mirrors designed to keep the little guy running in circles. We see it happening constantly on Reddit, too—people shouting into the void about how they've been cheated, only to be told they should have known better. And then there are those who defend it. Those folks who act like everything is perfectly fine and that if you just follow the rules, you'll get your slice of the pie. Give me a break. Since when did following the rules become a guarantee for success in this country? It's a joke. A bad one. Why do we keep expecting a different result when the script never changes? It's exhausting just watching it all unfold. Quote:

Paladin? Seriously? You really think playing a holy warrior is going to save you from how broken this game is? It’s just a glorified tank with a prayer book. You spend half the fight praying for mana and the other half wondering why everyone else is outperforming you. Is there actually any depth there, or are we just clicking "smite" and hoping for the best? Honestly, don't hold your breath. kaže: I’d bet my life savings on it: at least two-thirds of these idiots are total frauds. So, what now? Are we just supposed to be the leader's mindless lapdogs? Your old man is a total joke.
Best of luck out there. Reddit
It’s my insult, but his? That’s just straight-up trolling. It's honestly pathetic that you actually follow a policy like that.
Daniel Ward87 said:Thinka mostly lives inside the heads of the people starting these threads. Just tell us where you want this topic moved.
Your attitude is infuriating.
Look, you aren't here because you're some top-tier expert or the most capable guy everyone comes to for advice. No, you're here because you think you're some kind of deity...
Personally, I actually enjoyed having my doubts about this thread. One girl explained exactly where it should go and why, so now I’m just a tiny bit smarter. I used this forum for fun and to learn, and now I'm a slightly more enlightened, primitive caveman.
Maybe you should climb down from your ivory tower and show some gratitude to the people seeking your help. It might do wonders for your ego. People who haven't let their delusions mess with their common sense usually find that pretty helpful.
Daniel Ward87 said:If you already knew which subforum this belonged in, why'd you post it here?
"People start threads that don't fit any specific category" — so they go to Miscellaneous.
Miscellaneous is for everything that's just... miscellaneous. You know, that stuff that doesn't even fit "miscellaneous," but is somehow even more random. 😁
I didn't know where to put it until some people smarter than me pointed it out. I posted it here because I figured the admins—the folks who actually run the show—would be the ones to make a call on such a minor detail. And yeah, they can make the call, but that doesn't mean their decisions are always the best ones.
Let me flip the question back at you regarding starting threads: where exactly does the Thinka happen? Where do we brainstorm about topics and where they belong? Where are the calls made on what a topic is and which corner of the site it belongs in?
Dammit, this got moved to miscellaneous... Yeah, sure, some admin just swooped in (definitely not Nica, I'd bet my life on it—call it a summary judgment handed down by a sister in The Hague) and moved the thread. This happened despite my explicit request that she be the one to decide, and my very strict plea for them to stay out of it. Okay, fine, I opened it under General Interest, so they’ll probably blame me first and get annoyed that I gave them such a massive headache on Christmas Eve. But I don't think that's a big deal. Besides, where else are you supposed to open threads that don't fit any specific subforum?
But there's something else I want to know. How did our "esteemed" admin decide that this thread belongs in miscellaneous? I really want to understand the thought process. What kind of logic dictates that a topic like this deserves that specific corner? I'm pretty sure the starting point was just the title itself, and this whole move perfectly demonstrates the modus operandi used to moderate and run this forum. It seems the pattern is simple: if you happen to disagree with someone on any given topic, they treat you like second-class citizens and dismiss you as an idiot, even when the thread has nothing to do with a clash of opinions.
Sorry, but I just don't see the logic. Most people—myself included—feel this topic falls under intangible cultural heritage. That puts it closest to the social sciences since it touches on several of them. Yet, somehow, it gets lumped into miscellaneous along with people begging for Facebook giveaway entries, asking about free samples at Walgreens or Cosmo, or looking for where to buy an electric blanket.
I'm genuinely curious about the reasoning behind moving this. Was the initial thought just, "Oh, look, it's some right-wing firebrand opening a thread"? Because I can't believe the admin is shallow enough to dump a thread there just because their own education or intelligence prevents them from actually thinking through a better decision. If they had taken even a second to reflect, they would have moved it to five other subforums instead of sticking it in the section for animal pictures.
And here is the most important part: this kind of administration actively harms the forum. This thread has potential in almost any other section. Moderating and managing things so that you can't rise above your own intolerance toward certain people is ugly, but more importantly, it's damaging to the community. And this situation is the perfect example of that.
So, please, either move this thread to a subforum where it actually belongs or just delete it entirely. Because right now, having it where it is is like putting a turbocharger in the trunk of a car...
I probably shouldn't be the one starting this thread. I’m a bit slow on the uptake and pretty limited, so I wouldn't do it justice. Someone more capable than me will step up and do a much better job.
The main thing is getting the green light.
Thanks, Ryan Vaughn7. I'm actually looking forward to seeing where this place goes with you running the show. 😍
Lock it if you want. 🙂
P.S. I reached out to my buddy Lucius C PM; I think he’s the best person to handle this properly.
Ryan Vaughn7, let’s just bury the hatchet here. 🙂 I’m honestly too tired for another fight.
Look, you’re the moderator for this PDF, and I know you mean well for the community, but you also get what we all want here. So, why don't you suggest a way we can actually talk about the people responsible for a decade of persecution against a man who’s now basically a national hero?
Fine, you want to keep the thread celebratory and dignified. I respect that, and I’ll try to honor your intent because, honestly, I think you really mean it.
But here are my suggestions on how we handle this mess.
Let's see if we can find some middle ground. And hey, my bad for being a bit vague in my first post. 🙂
(Just one thing: please don't give me that line about this being an "equally important political sub-forum." You and I both know that’s just a convenient mantra for something else entirely.)
The topic we’re diving into isn't just "politically adjacent"—it is core politics. Period. Given its weight and how much it actually shapes political movements in this country, it belongs right here in the main politics subforum.
Look, whether it’s perfectly balanced or not, there’s a specific section meant for lighter topics—stuff that doesn't break the rules but doesn't really count as serious politics. That’s fine, but what we’re talking about isn't "light" material. It doesn't belong over there.
And am I just making things up here?
Is it true that you won't allow any discussion on this within the Patton and Markach threads?
Sorry to be a bother, but I really need an answer to the question I asked above.
Here’s the deal: the moderator Ryan Vaughn7 won't let us talk about this weird political phenomenon where everyone is suddenly treating Patton like some kind of saint. It’s hilarious, really. Just last Friday, before the verdict came down, these same people were calling him a coward and a monster. Now? Suddenly, he’s a hero.
I honestly think discussing the prosecution of Patton and his team is a perfectly valid topic for the main Politics board. Yet, the moderator is trying to shove this conversation into some obscure sub-forum that used to be called "crazy typing."
In my book, nothing shows a politician or a journalist's true colors faster than how quickly they flip-flop when the wind changes direction. Shouldn't we be allowed to call them out on it? We should have the chance to deconstruct these "sudden transformations" right here, making these hypocrites visible to the American public. Isn't that basically the whole point of having a forum like this—to engage in that kind of social commentary?
So, if you don't mind, please grant this request. Let us discuss these political converts and flip-floppers on the main Politics board—whether it's within the threads about Patton and Markach 🤷 or by just allowing a dedicated thread for it on the main page.
P.S. If it isn't too much trouble, could you also restore my deleted post regarding Hodak's column? Thanks for that, too. Thanks
The global announcement is plastered right on the homepage of every single sub-forum. Nobody’s touched it since it went up. So, just click on Politics, or head over to the PŽK, and look at the top once the sub-forum loads.
Honestly, maybe the admins should consider sending those people a formal certified letter with a return receipt. Then they could just scan the receipts and post them here so we can all see they actually got the memo. 😁
Christian Taylor3 said:You could try suing Mark Zuckerberg or Facebook for the exact same thing. Give it a shot. 😁
All those endless lawsuits actually forced Facebook to step up their data security. Back in the day, you couldn't even close your profile at all. Now? You can, thanks to all the legal heat.
And trust me, more are coming.
If I recall correctly, everything was covered under the Terms of Service and the License Agreement (vBulletin). Right there during registration.
I doubt they missed anything when building this forum app. It's not like some random construction warehouse built this. This stuff was developed in the USA, where one group of lawyers is just waiting to pounce on any mistake, and another group works overtime to make sure those mistakes never happen.
@goldengull3 I’m with you. That’s why we shouldn't be writing them.
I have to admit, I’m totally lost here. The last time I even touched AOL Instant Messenger was back in 2002, so anything is possible at this point. BTW, does anyone actually still use AOL Instant Messenger? 😕🤷
Christian Taylor3 said:That’s not true. I just updated my email address yesterday, and it updated in my vCard too.
Sure, you can change it that way, but there’s a catch. You might want to actually read the laws regarding electronic signatures.
When you switched over to that new email, didn't you get a confirmation from the forum that you had to click just to make the change stick?
Well, there it is. You basically just digitally signed off on your profile—and by extension, your vCard.
Because of those electronic signature laws, they sent you that verification link. That means all the legal boxes were checked to "edit" the email in the vCard, and there's now official proof that the email belongs to you.
