Where can I get a quick loan? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
briskeagle3 said:It’s not really about the money itself—it’s about the REPAYMENT... I lent a distant cousin about $15,000 back in 2002... and I've only just seen $11667... and honestly, who's going to compensate me for the stress? Sure, I'll eventually get the cash, but what was supposed to be a short-term thing—just a few years—has dragged on for twenty.

Still, I gotta say, the optimism of people who can't even borrow a dime from anyone they actually know—like family, godparents, friends, or coworkers, who obviously know exactly why they're being avoided—is kind of wild. They're just sitting there hoping to get a loan from a complete stranger... over on 🙏 Reddit

Maybe it’s actually time to clear out those activists who treat this Forum like their own private party mouthpiece—you know, the ones who think they have the right to go off on anyone just because someone dared to draw a mustache on the President.

Robin Rodriguez5 said:Look, just chill out—nobody else actually said anyone was low-IQ here, you’re kind of just making that up as you go. And no, suggesting someone should lose their business license isn't really the same thing as calling a banker a total crook. If I recall, there have been plenty of people around here calling for bankers to be thrown in prison—honestly, I think you've said stuff like that yourself more than a few times. You never even got flagged for it. This whole thing about Alexander Thompson's "business competence" is basically on the same level as your calls to lock up bankers. Neither of you has gotten a warning for those kinds of posts, though personally, I'd prefer if we didn't have that kind of talk at all from either side.

As for giving Alexander Thompson a permanent ban from the Forum... honestly, he hasn't earned it yet. He’s picked up quite a few warnings by now—three from me, specifically. He’s been banned before too, but in my opinion, it's not enough to justify a lifetime ban right now. We'll just have to see how things play out down the road.

Cool... So, did I also manage to dodge the public beatings, electric shocks, and having my assets seized through my fifth generation of descendants—you know, the stuff the proposer seems so fond of?

Raymond Palmer3 said:This is about that post from Alexander Thompson:

So, basically, this guy is suggesting in his last sentence that we strip legal capacity away from over 100,000 grown adults—you know, all those people stuck with those Swiss franc loans. Since, I mean, legally speaking, you usually only strip someone of their legal capacity due to mental illness or cognitive issues, he’s essentially insulting over a hundred thousand people. In my book, that’s a textbook reason for a permanent ban.

I mean, if I got hit with a week-long ban just for supposedly offending him—even though I was just sharing my take based on how he writes and a few of his posts—then by that logic, Alexander Thompson deserves something like 700,000 weeks of punishment. Or, let's just call it what it is: a permanent ban. Plus, he’s constantly poking the bear and being disrespectful when it comes to the Anti-Euro movement or other economic topics. I have no idea why he doesn't even get a warning card, but he rarely uses actual arguments and almost never engages in a civilized way. So, yeah, I really think he shouldn't be allowed to post here anymore.

Thanks, Raymond Palmer3

Maybe we should try some of those methods too? You know, like actually having a civilized discussion, right? 😵

Raymond Palmer3 said:Immediate firing for everyone who pushed those CHF loans. And they should have to pay back every single bonus, naturally with interest. Their only job prospects would be things like reforestation in the Rocky Mountains or working at a quarry for minimum wage. As for the bank executives who played games with the CHF and the leadership at the Federal Reserve? Throw them in prison for 20 years, no parole. Seize everything they own, right down to their grandkids' inheritance. While they're serving time, maybe implement daily whipping or electric shocks or whatever other fun little games.
Just so nobody ever thinks about pulling the kind of crap they did with those CHF loans ever again.

Yeah, eventually... My permanent ban for having a different opinion—you know, for not following those obscure subforum rules or not singing along with the crowd—is still sitting there 😬

I’ll probably end up getting slapped with a 'subforum rule violation' warning for this post, just because of how I put this 😬:

Which rule did I actually break, though? Am I not singing in the choir or something?

It’s funny—that blatant insult I actually reported is still sitting there, totally untouched...

Nothing? I put out this pretty decent post about 'Ethnic Banks' and all I get back is:

It’s a reality in the world, and you just don't want it happening here because it clashes with your greedy, skin-flint, criminal, green-minded mentality and worldview.,

I’m asking—just asking—if this blatant insult (not exactly subtle, is it?) could be removed, but hey, whatever...

I mean, if this kind of poetic flair is actually allowed under the forum rules, fine, let it stay. But honestly, it says way more about the state of this forum than it does about me....

Hey, I’d really appreciate it if you could pull down this post—it’s basically just a bunch of insults aimed right at me:

☕So, Trotkick here—I took a look at it yesterday, and even though the author is already banned, I still think we should probably scrub this kind of trash from the board... I mean, it's just unnecessary, I guess.
nimblelynx7 said:Good luck with that. I'm sure the refugees will just say, "Thanks, but no thanks." 🙂

I don't even know what we'd do with them. We've already got plenty of our own unemployed citizens, so there's zero need for imports.

I mean, obviously... Why would we pay them the same amount to clean their own toilets and sweep their own dorm rooms?

Though, I suppose they won't even get a meal until those bathrooms are scrubbed spotless 🤷

And honestly, I have this feeling that Germany would probably figure out how to manage that kind of thing efficiently 😬

Hannah Allen5 said:A former coworker of mine actually tried applying for those government grants meant to clear out liens and mortgages on orchard lands. He didn't get a dime, mostly because he's already under a garnishment order—which, I mean, what kind of logic is that? If the whole point of the money is to settle your debts, it’s kind of obvious you’d be underwater to begin with 😁 I guess it just goes to show that even the big predatory lenders and local sharks are only looking out for their own bottom line.

I guess if he had some actual real estate to put up as collateral, he probably would've gotten the loan regardless of the garnishment...

Michael Morgan5 said:What kind of sudden philosophy is hitting you?
Look, I’ll lend you the cash at a 10% annual interest rate.
What are you putting up as collateral?
Let's get one thing straight right out of the gate: I don't touch any of those notarized promissory notes or whatever legal paperwork you might try to slide my way.
I deal in hard assets—gold, silver, platinum, fine art, real estate, or even boats.

Robert Gomez2 said:So, are you personally handing out loans? Because I could really use some $6.75. And frankly, what you're saying about contracts being invalid isn't quite right; an executed contract or a promissory note filed with a local agency carries real weight. If they actually pay up or settle, once you get a judgment, they can garnish wages or seize assets, which effectively freezes their accounts until you finally get your money.

Bella only wants promissory notes 😬

Alright, let me try to get back on track here 😬

It really depends on what you actually need a bank for... I’ve got an account over at Chase, and they're pretty solid when it comes to foreign currency and international stuff—their online platform works fine, too. I can usually sort everything out via email without much drama...

I also have an account with Hyp, and honestly, I’m a fan of their prepaid card... It’s linked to my PayPal, so I just move whatever amount I need from my online banking onto it whenever...

The whole setup (two domestic accounts, two foreign ones, web access for all of them, plus the prepaid Visa debit card) ends up costing me maybe $30 a month, which I don't mind... If someone doesn't need any of that, I guess they could just open a basic checking account for a few bucks a month and just hit the ATM to grab cash, walk around, pay bills here and there... though they'll probably end up losing a little money that way...

Back in the day—like ten years ago—I closed out my accounts at Wells Fargo, stuffed the cash in my pocket, and just took it over to Chase... They were just being incredibly difficult and uncooperative, plain and simple...

And look, if anyone thinks a bank exists to help cover expenses that exceed their actual income, they’re dead wrong...

People always harp on about how you "have" to go into overdraft... Like, it's somehow easier to spend more than you make... In reality, when you're in the red, you're just paying interest...

If we're talking about absolute essentials just to stay afloat—you know, food, clothes, heating, funeral costs—that's what social services or other agencies are for, not banks...

Raymond Palmer3 said:I agree with that—but you’re clearly missing my point entirely. A retard would have caught on by now, so I'm done explaining.

So you have to go into debt? Seriously? No shit, Sherlock? Why should your "struggling" be anyone else's problem besides yours? Where are you going to get the cash? Who actually gives a damn?

I'm not talking about myself—I'm talking generally. I'm nowhere near being in the red. And I'm not saying it should be someone else's problem. It's just that banks rip you off way too much on interest rates. Inflation is at 0%, savings accounts are sitting at maybe 3%, and don't even get me started on those instant-access ones. Then you still have to pay taxes on that... meanwhile, if you're overdrawn, they hit you with 10%+.
Get it?

And yeah, spending other people's money under terms that suit you is socialism... Luckily we've moved past that, but you're out here spending money provided by some fool who's willing to hand it over....

Oh sure, America is such a happy place. 🙄
And apparently, spending other people's money at usurious rates is what we call capitalism.

I mean, who’s actually forcing you to spend money that isn't yours and then acting miserable about it? And honestly, who’s stopping you from just giving your own cash away to some jerk if it makes you feel better?

If you’d actually read what I wrote, you'd see I wasn't talking about "taking" money—I was saying that sometimes, due to things totally out of anyone's control (like a death or a serious illness), people just have no choice but to dip into the red. Does a bank—which, by the way, is supposed to be serving its own client—really have to charge them 10%+ interest? They don't *have* to. Is that a fair way to treat a customer? Not at all. And yeah, that interest rate is pre-defined—thanks for breaking the news to me, Captain Obvious. But who exactly decided it should be that way?
What choice does the guy actually have? Switch banks? Please—they’re all the same flavor of predatory. Honestly, thanks to our government for making sure the big banks get everything they want while the rest of us just deal with the fallout.
If you don't charge at least 10% interest, you might as well be running a socialist commune—give me a break with this "socialism" nonsense. What’s next on your list of ridiculous arguments—bringing up the Civil War?

"Quote:"
Same here—honestly, I have no idea why I'd even bother looking. $3.25 Benefits—honestly, when having three of them works better for me...
So, I see you’re out here playing defense attorney for the banks—acting like they aren't absolutely fleecing everyone. If you're going to defend them, maybe start by looking in the mirror first. 😵

As far as blowing people off goes, the best move is usually just to blow off spending other people's money....

You need to go into the red? Seriously? No shit, Sherlock. Why should your "need" be anyone else's problem but yours? Where are you gonna find the cash? Honestly, who cares?

You ask your friends, you borrow from jars with zero interest and no deadline, just like I do with my friends.... Or they borrow from me, I guess....

And yeah, spending someone else's money on terms that suit you perfectly is definitely socialism... Luckily we moved past that, but feel free to keep spending the money of whatever idiot is willing to hand it over to you....

BTW, I defend everyone's right, including the bank's right, to handle their money however they damn well please... Whether they lend it to someone or not, or at whatever interest rate they want...

If I didn't defend that, I might wake up tomorrow expecting some jerk to expect $33 from me that they have no intention of paying back, even though they "need" it... Sure, you'll find jerks like that, but for now, the legal thing to do is just tell them to get lost...

Raymond Palmer3 said:I'm not talking about interest-free loans, I'm talking about predatory interest rates... But clearly, that concept is flying way over your head.....
If they're only charging you two or three bucks for account maintenance, then by all means—go down to Chase and ask them to hike that fee up to ten dollars 😁

I honestly don't get where you're coming from... If the interest rate (which is clearly laid out before you sign anything, by the way) doesn't work for you, then don't take the money... You know, using someone else's cash... It's pretty basic stuff—even a retard could wrap their head around that.🤷

Just spend your own money and you won't owe anyone a damn thing...

And for the record, I have no idea why I'd bother asking for $3.25 fee waivers when having three of them works just fine for me...

Raymond Palmer3 said:Wow, great logic there. So you're basically saying you have nothing against usury, because "if someone dives into debt, it's their own damn fault."
It’s like walking down a street with no sidewalks and getting hit by a car—you're blaming the kid for being out there when they knew there were no sidewalks. 😵
Besides, sometimes life just forces people into debt. A death in the family, for instance. And you'd actually want to congratulate the banks for making a bad situation even worse with an extra 10% interest "because they should have known better"...
Go ahead, keep rooting for the banks—maybe suggest they bump rates up to 20% since their profits are just so pitifully low...
It's attitudes like this—this worship of big "capital," greed, and predatory lending—that ensure this country stays trapped in a cycle of debt slavery.

Exactly... so anyone who messes up with other people's money and then has to pay it back under pre-set terms is just solely to blame...

But hey, you've got a pretty fantastic antidote to my "selfish" way of thinking... Just lend money to whoever you want at minimum, or even negative, interest rates... Give them 100 bucks, but if they were in a bind, maybe they only give you 80 back... The only catch is, don't do it with my money. I'm not handing mine over, and frankly, I couldn't care less about their situation. ☕....

Lending money without interest is basically like socialism... It works great right up until people start blowing through someone else's cash...

Raymond Palmer3 said:If paying 10-14% interest on an overdraft isn't highway robbery, I don't know what is.🤔

I mean, if diving headfirst into a negative balance when the terms are clearly stacked against you isn't considered reckless behavior, then I'm just lost. 🤷

By the current legal definition, usury is when an interest rate hits 8% above the maximum late fee cap—so we're looking at something like 18%... I mean, look, if you don't like it, you don't have to use them, right?

Personally, even 5% feels way too steep to me, which is why I usually try to steer clear of using anyone else's money altogether...

Sure, there's always that option where you blow through someone else's cash and then act totally blindsided when you actually have to pay it back based on the rules you agreed to upfront...

I mean, honestly, the only thing keeping me from getting into the whole predatory lending business—you know, like just low-key squeezing small businesses for every cent they've got—is my upbringing, I guess. It’s just a hobby idea, really...

Fair point... I mean, Chase probably charges next to nothing—like maybe two or three bucks a month—just to keep the account running...

Honestly, just tell them to kick rocks. Don't let them walk all over you...
