I assume we have the option to split off specific topics or just put a cap on the trolling and constant jokes on this one.

We need some level of seriousness here. Given the crowd and how much ribbing goes on, splitting the threads seems like the smarter move.

A funny comment is fine, especially when emotions are high during a game. But scrolling through pages upon pages of nothing but inside jokes is exhausting. I imagine anyone not part of that circle finds it distracting from the actual topic.

Lately, when I check in here, I skip to the last two or three pages and usually don't find anything worth reading.

Yeah, I figured as much. 😁

northernpilot2 said:I can see this movie has a really polarized following when it comes to both fans and critics. 😁 You’ve got one group absolutely raving about it while another side is just tearing it apart, so I guess you could say the reception is pretty much split right down the middle.

I finally sat down and watched it last night, and honestly, I have to say I actually enjoyed it. The opening sequence is especially intense—just packed with action and a plot that keeps you hooked—and even when it shifts gears into more of a cat-and-mouse game later on, I found myself staying engaged.

Look, sure, there’s a fair amount of cheesiness involved, but come on, don't act like you weren't expecting that level of melodrama in a flick like this. I mean, if you even bothered to start watching this movie in the first place, you probably already knew what kind of ride you were signing up for. Plus, at the end of the day, it’s all about Americans and protecting our own sacred ground and the homeland. 😁
Along with the cheese, there’s definitely some nonsense going on, like that enemy jet circling and opening fire over the capital 🤣, which, like someone else mentioned, would be totally impossible in a post-9/11 world 😁, but hey, it is a Hollywood movie after all.

Despite all that, I don't regret carving out two hours for it. I'd say it's an interesting watch and worth your time. 🙂 7/10

p.s. the absolute craziest moment has to be the Secretary of State swearing on the flag while being dragged down the hallway 😁

Why don't you start a poll so we can actually see how divided everyone really is?😁

He’s totally washed up now. Seriously, he looks like a total drunk and his acting is just straight-up garbage.

The guy was born in '37. It's a miracle he's even still standing.

George Lopez6 said:What a total disaster. It actually managed to be worse than the last Die Hard movie, which—if you ask me—wasn't even that bad, despite lacking this nauseatingly forced patriotism. That scene where they take down the American flag and let it fall in slow motion was just pathetic. 🤣 Gerard Butler is incredibly irritating here. White House Down needs to be way better than this garbage.

But seriously, 🤣

I haven't touched an action movie in ages, but this one reminded me why I stopped.

Predictable, unrealistic, and totally illogical.
Half the movie is just shot in the dark, full of cheap sentimentality, forced heroism, and a story we've heard a hundred times before.

2 /10

The only reason it gets a two is because of those few intense scenes.
Hey mods, can I get permission to edit Casey White13's opening post regarding the European championships?
Basically, the match dates from the second qualifying round onwards need to be shifted forward by one day.

If anything is unclear, you can find the details here:

Does anyone know when the pairings for the new Bundesliga season starting August 9th will be drawn?
Thanks.

P.S. When is the European Cup thread expected to open? The leagues are all set... we're waiting eagerly. 🙂

The Champions League and Europa League draws are already happening this Monday. First matches are in two weeks.

It’s my favorite topic and the best part of the year. Can't wait.
Transfer Market - Summer 2013 (Official) 🙂

This is the most accurate and easy-to-read thread on the forum, second only to the Lovren chat.
I don't want to be a killjoy, but I’d suggest just clearing the chat and issuing a warning to prevent more off-topic posts in the future (and please don't penalize users like 🙂).

Decent movie.

It’s expected to have plot holes when it isn't some heavy sci-fi horror flick. 🙂
But it maintains a serious tone throughout, which I appreciate. Without that, it would have just felt like a cheap parody.
It hits the right balance. It's alright.

6/10 for me.

hiddenfox51 said:Do you think this would be a good pick for a movie night with my girlfriend? 😁

Exactly for that.
There isn't a thread for current transfers here. 🤷

Not within the first three pages, anyway.
Robert Torres said:I'm all for any idea that actually makes the content on these forums better ☕ .

Look, I can cover the Americans and the Spanish, but honestly, doing this every single week is just too much work... maybe every other week or once a month instead 😬

Exactly.
Great idea, krastavče.
One time I went to an IMF betting forum, posted a few parlays along with my stakes and potential payouts, and immediately got slapped with 30 infraction points 🤣 before they deleted my post.

That’s exactly why I pushed for us to have our own casual betting group.
I’d sign up right now to be part of the Group C opening at the US Open next year.

I’m asking that this be taken into account over the next year or so.
Alright, fine. I’m out.
Bryan Adams6 said:You’ve got the whole PDF for the sportsbook right there. 🤷

The point is to be able to debate with people we already know, all while keeping everything in one single place.
This is just for casual conversation. We aren't robots. There are no strict rules here, other than the standard requirement to be respectful.

boldhound8 said:Anyway, the newer guys might not remember, but the Betting sub-forum was created specifically to pull all those scattered threads from every corner of the site into one single spot—that’s literally the entire point of having a sub-forum.
Starting a new betting thread here wouldn't break the concept of the Betting sub-forum (IMF), but it raises a massive question: what's even the point?🤷 If we're using the logic of keeping things "local" so people don't have to wander around, then fine, let's just open an IT topic or a US topic under the Football section too. I mean, why the hell should I go over to the US board just because I'm single? If I'm a local here, I stay here.😁

Personally, I don't care either way, I just wanted to remind everyone how the Betting sub-forum actually came to be.🙂 As far as I'm concerned, you can open 22 different betting threads if you want...

Don't tell me your love life is just as tied to gambling as football is.

Alex Cook said:Whoa, look at you, still reading this stuff. 🙂

You probably haven't been lurking in the IMF Betting section for long enough, so let me break it down for you—and explain why everyone seems so terrified of the moderator, acting like he's some kind of boogeyman.

Because back in the day—like, a year or two ago—this place actually had that classic old-school forum vibe...
AC Milan to win both ways at 1.37
PSG handicap at 1.43
Real Madrid win at 1.02

$133, bet the house on it☕

Milan's gonna screw you over🙂

They won't.

And that's it—thanks for nothing—that style of posting is ancient history. Anyone who still wants to write like that should probably just go find some other bottom-tier trash site to hang out on.

I don't get what the issue is.

You want to jump into a thread like Dinamo’s LP group? There isn't room for two constructive posts there. It makes no sense. You can't mention what you bought or why you bought it, give a little brag later, or even vent about needing a smoke. There just isn't any space for it.

Are you interested in consulting with people here? Just asking, since you're already reading this subforum.

Morgan Williams said:@feralotter2, if we let people just post random picks like that, the place would be crawling with trolls spamming useless predictions. Then, when they actually get lucky by accident, you'll see everyone acting like they're ☕Nostradamus himself.
I don't know much about how these betting sites operate, so I'm basing this on what I've seen in previous threads here. I'll give my thoughts on the Example once I'm back at my desk.

And?
We’re getting to a point where even putting a period at the end of a sentence will be called trolling. It's just another vague term people use to manipulate things subjectively.

The wolf is fed, the sheep are counted, the office grind continues with the usual suspects on their machines, and Anderson is finally cutting checks for Sterling.

Dennis Evans6 is at it again, even though it's only Tuesday!

The truth is, the moderators just don't want to deal with managing another thread. That's the real issue, and people are just afraid to say it plainly.
Why don't we have a betting thread, just like the fans do?
🤷

It’s a pretty standard topic. It doesn't belong outside the soccer subforum.
If we gave it to the fans, they'd just be total amateurs.
No Hulk, no problem.

If Dinamo Chicago can't scrape even a single point in four matches, they didn't deserve to move on anyway.

Just finished watching.
It’s a solid movie; I think you guys hit the nail on the head already. Someone mentioned how they managed to use vampire tropes without making them feel dated, and I agree.
The atmosphere works well, too. Plus, there are some genuinely funny moments sprinkled in.
In my opinion, Farrell was perfect as the macho vampire. That’s his lane, and honestly, what else would you expect him to do?

My one gripe is the lead kid. His calmness and confidence in high-stakes situations felt a bit forced and unrealistic. He also looks like he hasn't shaved in years.

But since this is a remake, maybe they were trying to stay close to the original. I haven't seen that version, so I can't say for sure.
