Amanda Evans2 said:Seriously, you delusional patients...

Now that I finally have all this free time on my hands, I can't find anything worth watching. I’m basically squeezing out one episode of Better Call Saul a week and maybe some cooking documentaries just to feel something.
It's frustrating because I used to be constantly braced for a crisis, sitting there with a hundred different streaming services ready to go, just waiting for the world to fall apart so I could finally ditch my responsibilities and live life on my own terms...

Same here.

This is a terrible time for sports fanatics.

The weekend is here, and I have nothing to watch.

Nothing. I'm just going to download some unwatched UFC fights—specifically those main events where two guys under 130 lbs go at it.

Larry Fox5 said:I don't know what kind of crowd you run with, but honestly, nobody I've ever met has ever told me they feel awkward eating at a restaurant just because there's a dog around.
So, we aren't talking about some small percentage here—it's literally zero percent.
And look, in all my years on this planet, I’ve never had one single bad experience with it—doesn't matter if it was my dog or someone else's...

That's because over in Germany, they've turned men into women, if they even have anything left down there.

Justin James10 said:Honestly, there is no more intense cult than dog lovers. These people are genuinely capable of gouging your eyes out if you don't match their level of obsession! Wouldn't it be easier to critique Islam in Saudi Arabia than to dare criticize a dog enthusiast and the absolute reign of terror they exert over anyone who doesn't own a pet?

They have nobody else. A dog becomes a substitute for a real person because no actual human would ever put up with them.

But what about dogs in restaurants or food courts?
Who cares. Let the hair fly. Let the bacteria spread while you eat two feet away.

RIP Kobe Bryant.

I'm not even a huge basketball fan, but everyone knew him.

As for elderly people in nursing homes, this just speeds up the inevitable.
People live way too long these days anyway. Those final years are often just suffering and an unnecessary burden on everyone, both financially and mentally.
I support euthanasia. Sometimes, it's just the right time.

Noah Ross7 said:Lemme guess, typical beginner mistake—clutch first, then brake. ☕

I'm not a woman.

Regarding Maradona and all that.
Honestly, I can't stand those movies focused on one specific person.
The whole biography concept has never interested me. It’s just one individual, and I don't care about the opinion or perspective of just one person.

The closest thing to a biography I've ever watched was Wolf of Wall Street, and even then, only because it was entertaining.

Maybe if we opened a restaurant based on how many cats get hit on the road, we’d actually make some money.

A cat darted out right in front of me today.
He was coming from the opposite side of the street and decided at the absolute last second to test his luck by sprinting directly into my path while I was driving in the other lane.
Luckily, I managed to slam on the brakes just in time. It was a serious close call.

That was probably the closest I've ever come to hitting an animal.

Matthew Young35 said:A fight? Give me a break.
Obviously, if a cat is fighting a dog, that natural "aloofness" won't mean much when the cat is fifteen times smaller.

Unfortunately, there are videos online showing fights between equally sized cats and dogs.
They are revolting.
The people who organized and filmed those should be thrown against a wall.
Imagine breeding a Pitbull for fighting only to have a cat take it out in seconds.

I don't even want to watch that or think about it.

I’m just speaking from an efficiency standpoint. A dog will master complex actions for a higher goal much faster than a Cat.
A Cat is selfish, but ultimately, the dog comes out on top.

Besides.
When a dog dies, it’s a tragedy. When a Cat dies, it’s just statistics.
How many Cats end up under tires versus how many dogs?

So, which one is actually more intelligent is definitely up for debate, if it's even a question at all.☕
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
Cats are more independent, while dogs are needy. It comes down to their biological programming, not some measure of potential intelligence.

Dogs are easier to train. If you want to prep someone for a fight, you'll get much further with a dog.
As for cats, you can just take that natural aloofness of theirs and shove it somewhere else.

Dogs are submissive to humans. Logically, that makes them the better option if we're judging based on human intelligence. ☕

Yeah, I’m looking at it now, and it's top-tier.

The bass (which is a big deal for me 😁) hits deep into those low frequencies.

Low-Frequency Extension
27.9 Hz

If that spec is legit.

I haven't heard it in person yet.

Joseph Clark37 said:Respectfully, colleague, that Sony isn't worth it. It’s just okay, but the mids are pretty lifeless. I wouldn't even suggest the ZF9 at that price point...

If you haven't heard anything better, it's a solid choice.

You know how it works. We can keep chasing quality until we hit five figures.

Peter Thompson4 said:But seriously, do you actually think a soundbar can ever hold its own against a legitimate home theater setup? I'm looking at a pretty small room here, maybe like a 15 by 15 space.

If it's 16x16, that's not small.
And if it's 10x16, that's a medium-sized room.

Obviously, like anything else, you'll get the best results by building it with individual components, but that can be a massive headache if you aren't into that stuff.
You'd need a 5.2 receiver/amp, at least 100W RMS per channel.
And you pick out your own speakers.
You don't have to do everything at once. Start with a good stereo setup (two front speakers) and upgrade later.
It all depends on your budget.

BUT, if this is strictly for watching TV—movies and series—then a high-end soundbar paired with a beefy subwoofer is plenty to make the floor shake when Tom Hardy turns a car.
Most movies work fine with most speaker setups; they just aren't that demanding.

If you don't want the hassle, just grab something like this.

Peter Thompson4 said:Anyone got some solid recommendations for a new surround setup?

And is it actually possible to find something that handles both Dolby Atmos and DTS without me having to drop like $5,000? Does anyone here actually know their stuff when it comes to this gear?

Thanks in advance! :*

Whatever it is, just make sure there's a subwoofer included.

Without real bass, you aren't getting the full experience.

Great.
Believe me, I missed this one until today.

People argue about all kinds of garbage constantly, yet a movie like this flies completely under the radar.

Did anyone else realize that Woman was actually the first failed test?
I didn't, I have to admit.

Everything makes sense to me now except for two things.

1. Why did Mother ask Woman where the mines were located where those supposed humans are hiding?
Especially if she already knew this woman was living alone in a shipping container.

2. Does that final look from Daughter suggest she is also partially a robot, and that Mother's consciousness has transferred to her?

Charles Roberts33 said:Thank God. If you’re going to stand for something, you do it all the way—not halfway, not a third of the way, and certainly not whenever it happens to suit your mood.
I'm not a believer. I don't hang lights, I don't sing Christmas carols, and frankly, I don't mind the people who do. I tend to avoid the crowds, too. But I find it pretty hilarious when people spend the entire year calling believers hypocrites—mocking how they interpret their faith just to suit themselves—only to turn around during the holidays and embrace every single one of those traditions. They cherry-pick exactly what they want from the customs: mostly the superficial stuff, the glitter, the kitsch, and the noise. It seems they find some sort of comfort or solace in that shallow spectacle.

It’s all or nothing. There is no middle ground. ☕

I have one question for you then.

If you aren't an atheist, what are you?

And don't say agnostic. That's just a fancy way of saying "I can't decide if I want to eat or sleep."
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
If I were in charge, I’d abolish Christmas.

First off, the useless crowds that result in absolutely zero productivity.
Everyone posts a thousand identical pictures of some decorated fir tree, sends a thousand nearly identical GIFs with the same greeting, and shares a thousand photos of basically the same lunch.

At home, you can only end up fighting with your family, and there’s nowhere to run because everyone stays inside doing nothing.
I'd much rather be at work.

If anyone actually wants to celebrate, they can head over to Canada that day.

Merry Christmas.

Jessica Gonzalez said:To be fair, I think that singer has been a massive star in the States for decades. Even before things changed, she was probably way more popular than anyone performing here today. I’m not really sure where you’d even find her music nowadays or who is still tuning in (maybe just some older folks reminiscing about the good old days), but hey, if they paid their taxes, that's great. It's probably a good thing the arena is filling up; that's what it was built for, after all.

She isn't a star today. Who actually listens to her?

I don't know a single soul who does, not even the people into that country-pop stuff.
