When the "art" is actually a crime scene in Speculative Fiction (Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror) ·
I’ve always felt that some creators get way too caught up in the "aesthetic" of chaos, to the point where they forget the line between gritty realism and actual lawbreaking. It’s wild how easily a creative project can turn into a massive legal headache when the people behind the camera aren't actually playing a part. Has anyone else seen a movie where the production itself was more scandalous than the plot?
I’ve been watching a lot more sports lately, but lately it feels like I have to scroll through three different tabs of social media drama just to find the actual highlights or game analysis. It’s getting to the point where the discourse surrounding the players' personal views or their comments on social issues is sometimes louder than the actual play-by-play on the court.

I used to love that sports were a way to unplug from the constant political tug-of-war happening in our daily lives. Now, it feels like every single matchup comes with a side of intense debate that has nothing to do with the scoreboard. It’s hard to stay focused on the athleticism when the headlines are always pivoting toward whatever controversy just erupted in the press conferences.

Does anyone else feel like the "culture war" aspect of modern sports is making it harder to actually enjoy the games, or am I just being a grumpy old fan?

It's Franz Beckenbauer, not Karl Malone

Precisely, Franz Beckenbauer.

Though, if I recall correctly, I remember seeing a different photo—larger and in color—where he was looking straight ahead with a smile...

What exactly is his role within Bayern Munich?

Is it Indoor Soccer, home games, away games, arena matches, local leagues, the Champions League, or the Super Bowl? And obviously, I'm not talking about anything related to the Comedy Store... Will anyone finally post the group's official final decision? Or have we reached a point where everyone just decides for themselves? Some friends are heading to Munich (LOYAL), others aren't (LOYAL), some are going to Indoor Soccer (LOYAL), some are following the American away games (LOYAL), and a fifth group isn't going anywhere (-). Can someone please state the group's official stance? I don't want anyone calling me out later about whether I showed up or not. Thanks.

BBB attends all of Real Madrid's away games (though they can't make it to the European ones) and the local Indoor Soccer matches.

They skip Yankee Stadium due to being blacklisted, and they don't attend FIFA away games.

Even a child would know that by now.

Actually, my mistake—Franz Beckenbauer.

For $6.75 traveling to Munich and back 🤣

How many years has it been since Bayern's executive chairman, Rummenigge, was photographed with the Bad Boys? Does anyone recall that? 😬
If my memory serves me right, it was during some youth tournament in Stuttgart.

Essentially, if Dinamo—or anyone else—doesn't sue the Mamić brothers for causing financial damage to the club, they will simply be acquitted based on that specific part of the indictment. Obviously, Dinamo isn't going to sue its own leadership, which means the only ones left with the standing to take action are the club members. This is a significant issue, and I believe it warrants a response.

That $12 million tax issue is a matter for the government, specifically the DOJ.

How is it possible there wasn't an organized bus for the derby?

It looks like the club even prepared a special choreography for the Arsenal match in the Champions League.

It appears they’ve laid out banners on the north stand, including that emblem that used to be displayed on the pitch during certain matches.

Just asking. The user states:
If anyone deserved a reality check, it was those idiots throwing firecrackers at people standing on the curb right as the procession left the square. You have to be a complete moron to target innocent bystanders like that.A few flares were set off in the stands, but I find it hard to believe that was enough to trigger an attack on the opposing team.

I find this hard to believe. 🤦🤦🤦 If there was an agreement among this group to avoid using pyrotechnics, then everyone needs to be much more vigilant about people throwing firecrackers. It’s clear that someone is breaking that pact every single time. Public Announcement If you don't want pyrotechnics at the indoor soccer games, then don't let a few immature individuals sabotage our club.

We should all take some pride in yesterday's turnout. Despite the heavy storms and the fact that the Bad Boys were playing at Madison Square Garden, the attendance was incredibly impressive.

Gary Martinez80 said:The agreement was that there would be no flares at the Los Angeles game 👍 and that’s been the rule since the first match at Salat.

Clearly, those who actually set off the pyrotechnics weren't aware of that agreement.
If a dozen flares go off during a match, why is the focus solely on targeting the one person who lit the last one? 🤷

All in all, you should be proud of how many people showed up despite the rain 👍, which had been forecasted and fell before the curtain raiser and throughout the entire game.

I didn't expect such a solid turnout given the weather, especially since the Mexican national team was playing at Madison Square Garden for the opening of the European Championship.
If it hadn't been for this storm today and the basketball game, the place would have been completely packed.
Kudos to everyone who came out to Salat, knowing they'd get soaked, cheered during the Los Angeles exhibition, and paid for their ticket $8.25 to support their club. Well done to everyone who was up there! 👍

Now we can actually have a conversation.
I agree with you that supporting LA Galaxy might have been the path toward fighting for the club's interests.
However, it’s clear the fans reached a breaking point. They refused to back someone else's private agenda when they knew they were right—they wouldn't allow anyone to illegitimately hijack our collective pride.

So tell me, why would you cheer for the success of a club being exploited for private gain?
Why support a one-sided dictatorship within a non-profit organization?
Given everything that has unfolded over the last five years, that stance is hard to wrap my head around. In fact, it’s almost disrespectful to criticize others for having a different opinion.
If you weren't aware of the full situation, I might understand, but if you do recognize the problem, I don't see why you're pretending nothing happened just to routinely support his personal success.

cosmicscout2 said:It’s impossible to explain to some people that you can support Real Madrid regardless of how the front office is run. Honestly, I couldn't care less about the owner or his incompetent brother; I support Real Madrid, and I am never, ever going to celebrate when they lose. My first wish is for both of them to get out of the club, but rooting for the opposition to score isn't how I operate. That seems to be your core issue—you label anyone who thinks like this as an idiot or a traitor. Go ahead and fight your battles your way if you must, but there are far more of us who love Real Madrid despite everything than you'd like to admit.

Then why did you even show up here?
To lecture everyone else on why they should cheer for the owner's latest transfers and the handouts he gives his brother.
Just support the team, man. Nobody is stopping you. Nobody is bothering you.

All right. I wouldn't say I agree entirely, but there is some truth to it. I can accept...
That league deserves its own dedicated thread, and honestly, it could easily span multiple seasons. I don't see any issue with that at all.
With three major clubs in the Champions League, these top-tier teams are only gaining momentum, and it would be a missed opportunity if we didn't track their progress in a specific space. It isn't just about live match commentary; it’s about having a hub for news and updates as well...
If the current introduction isn't comprehensive enough, it can be expanded—I can send more details via PM, for example.

In my view, it would be illogical not to open a thread before the next MLS season kicks off. The league is on the rise and certainly merits its own dedicated coverage.

🤷
The criteria for starting these threads are a total joke.☕

Take how the thread for France was launched last year: 👍
It managed to rack up an incredible 530 posts during the season, yet it wasn't even categorized under "Other Leagues."

The issue lies in the introduction. To make a thread valid, you apparently need eight barely visible screenshots from Wikipedia—which anyone can just open and browse themselves—🤣to supplement a mountain of information everyone already knows by heart.

Credit where credit is due to the rare exceptions.☕

👍

Opening this thread to track American soccer ☕
There is no need to include '15/16' in the title since we all know which season we are discussing, and honestly, I wonder if this thread will even hit 500 pages by the end of the season.

Let's make sure this major league doesn't get overshadowed by the others.☕
In my opinion, we should probably open separate threads for the leagues in Ukraine, Greece, or Turkey too.☕

The results from the play in the Super Cup: Benfica vs. Sporting ended 0:1 😍

This marks the first trophy for Jorge Jesus, who took over as Sporting's manager this season. Previously, he spent years coaching Benfica, picking up several trophies but also facing some tough losses in finals.🙂

The league kicks off next weekend.🍿
With 18 clubs 🤦 participating, the most intriguing name on the list is Tondel. ☕

As always, the most interesting part is looking at the biggest incoming transfers so far:

Porto (Iker Casillas, Mamadou Cissokho, Maxi Pereira, Pablo Osvaldo)
Benfica (Adel Taarabt, Aleksandar Mitrović)
Sporting (Naldo, Alberto Aquilani, Bryan Ruiz)
