Every single time right before a major tournament, the FIFA board meets and rolls out some absolutely insane new directives. The end result? Referees get completely lost and have zero clue what they're doing, which is a disaster when the entire world is watching. We've seen this pattern time and time again during the opening matches of huge tournaments.
If things aren't going the Russians' way, they'll just invent something to make sure they walk away with a win.
And if we end up seeing a massive shootout, then there's an even higher chance that amidst all those goals, at least one penalty will pop up.

Do you actually have the stats on how many times a penalty has been called in the opening match of the last few major tournaments, or am I just wasting my time digging through data for nothing?

Everything you said is spot on, man. Over the last few championships, we've seen plenty of times where the underdog played right out of the center, but let me tell you straight: for the last two or three tournaments, there was definitely money being thrown around, and the home team walked away with the win every single time. Now, as for all this stuff about FIFA, UEFA, backroom deals, and those unwritten rules—I don't know much about it, and frankly, I don't buy into all those conspiracy theories from the pundits claiming they're pumping in massive amounts of cash to tilt the scales.

I don't know, I'm not entirely confident enough about this one to drop serious cash on it, but you really have to at least give it a shot 🙂
look, bet365 just bumped the odds for Saudi Arabia up to 1.80

If you look back at the last World Cup opening match between Brazil and the US, did Brazil win the toss?

https://footballia.net/

Just sign up there; they have recordings of every single World Cup match, so you can go watch it for yourself.

edit: Brazil won the coin toss and Silva picked the side, it's clearly visible. Again, I'm asking, what if the US captain had won the toss? He probably would have picked the exact same side anyway, wouldn't he?

I think it didn't happen at the last one, but it was there in 12 out of the last 13 editions or something along those lines.

Yeah, that's true, but from what I've gathered looking back at the footage, the home team always seems to win the coin toss. 🤷 🤷
What happens if the away team actually wins the toss?

Gerald Carter53 said:Is there anywhere left to bet on the kickoff for Russia vs. Saudi Arabia? I can't find it on our usual sites, though I see it listed for other matches. When did they take it off, for god's sake?

They pulled it from DraftKings and FanDuel yesterday... it's still up on Bet365 and 1xBet at 1.66 and 1.90
But that's just gambling, as far as I can tell—if they just flip a coin to decide who kicks off, why on earth would you bother betting on it? 🤷

@jadewolf16/">@@jadewolf16 don't talk nonsense, they actually flip a coin! I've been watching clips from the last ten major tournaments (World Cup and Euro). At the last Euro, the Frenchmen kicked off first.

Just give me the app for the scores, please. 🙂
Look, I’m happy to be a little annoying if it means getting answers—so when are we finally getting that PDF? 🤣🤣

If a team like that just completely implodes—think like Cameroon getting absolutely dismantled by Brazil—and some random underdog manages to slot in five goals, it’s game over.

Whatever else happened...

Looking back at previous tournaments...

In 2006, Trinidad was an absolute joke, yet they managed a 0-0 draw against Sweden and only conceded four goals total throughout the run.

In 2010, New Zealand was the biggest disaster waiting to happen, and they didn't lose a single match.

In 2014, Honduras and Costa Rica were the prime candidates to get knocked out early, but look at Costa Rica—they actually stormed their way into the quarterfinals.

But let's be real: none of those teams made it to the World Cup with a negative goal difference or after playing through a qualifying round that was a complete embarrassment.🙏

I’ve been doing some thinking lately, and honestly, Panama is looking pretty pathetic right now—we really ought to look at some ways to exploit that.

For instance:
-They end up conceding the fewest goals in the tournament (it's 7.75 on SBObet, whereas against Saudi Arabia it was 7.00, so maybe give that a shot)
-They take more than 6.5 goals during the group stage at 2.20 on Marathon, or taking more than 5.5 is sitting at 1.70, so maybe we could parlay that with something else.

👍 and this one right above mine.

All you people do is sit here and talk absolute trash about "club spirit," "tradition," and all that other garbage, when the reality is that 95% of you on this damn forum haven't lifted a single finger to help out in this entire fight. You haven't moved an inch. How do you even have the nerve to open your mouths?

And I’m not just talking about the perimeter, either; they cleaned up the streets deep inside the neighborhood too.😉

It’s honestly hilarious how much people love to dig up old posts from outsiders on this thread just a few times a year whenever there’s some big, loud drama surrounding BBB 🤣🤣🤣

My bad to everyone on this forum for how the group handled things—we really should have posted a heads-up here first so we could have actually talked it out before everything went down. 😵
