Look, there are plenty of backup goalies out there who are statistically worse than he is, but they play for minor national teams that don't really matter in the grand scheme of things—certainly not for us, and their playing time is basically negligible. We’re measuring ourselves against the absolute elite of world handball, and unfortunately, Mike just doesn't hold up when you look at the numbers for a starting goalie.
To put it bluntly: he's moved past the level of the national team.

Look, if a goalkeeper can't hit at least a 30% save rate, they're essentially out the door—it’s that simple. There isn't much point in overthinking things or sitting around waiting for someone to suddenly find their rhythm. If they actually start performing, they'll get the call back when the time is right.
