Something strange seems to be brewing in the dynamic between Toto and Hamilton—it’s actually pretty interesting how they didn't use Bottas as a buffer on track, even though that’s what Hamilton apparently wanted...
And honestly, it's just as fascinating that Toto wasn't throwing shade at Vettel either—not even a little bit. In fact, he went out of his way to say it looked like nothing was intentional, and that it wouldn't even cross his mind to accuse Vettel without actual proof...

When I recall him being there for those talks with Flavio, everything starts feeling a bit different—like Hamilton might be heading out of the Bear, leaving the door wide open for Alonso to step into his shoes...🤔

It's even possible that Hamilton is moving to Ferrari, which would explain this sudden "honesty" in the Vettel-Hamilton Bem relationship 🤣
Man, if that actually happens, things are going to get wild 🎉 🤣

You've got a point, Toby 👍

Well, you just can't have one without the other, I suppose! 👋

If you think Vettel is a beast, then just imagine what kind of animal Senna was—the guy who collided with Prost at high speed right at the start of a race out of pure vengeance?

Or even Schumacher, who also took out Villeneuve on purpose?

That’s just what sets the legends apart—they happen to be just as wild as they are great.

Timothy Castillo6 said:Serious question here: how many of us would actually go? Like, from our neck of the woods!?
If we went as a Group—and does anyone have the connections to snag tickets (we'd obviously pay up!) for a crowd this size so we could all sit together and enjoy the race?
It would be great to finally clear some things up—pros and cons, face to face. 🙂
And naturally, we’d have to grab some drinks somewhere the night before...
If we can get a group of 10-12 together, I’m definitely in, just for the chance to meet everyone.
What do you guys think of the idea?

That sounds like a fantastic idea! If we can actually coordinate it, it would be absolutely phenomenal. 👍

Since when does having a decent car automatically mean you're in the title hunt?

neonfox65 said:Niki Lauda once remarked that Lewis Hamilton would eventually strike back at Sebastian Vettel—though he meant more like a metaphorical punch to the gut than anything physical! It’s such a classic, blunt way of putting it, isn't it? He was basically hinting at that intense, simmering rivalry where the tension just builds up until someone finally makes a move on the track. It's one of those gritty, old-school perspectives that really captures the spirit of the sport.

😁

Once Sebastian Vettel starts pulling away, he’ll probably just give Toto a call to ask if he can tell Valtteri Bottas to slow down—just so he actually has a chance at catching him!

Raymond Anderson4 said:Didn't that happen toward the end of the lap? Martin Brundle mentioned—quite reasonably, I thought—that Lewis Hamilton was really pushing it to catch up to the SC before they hit the next turn. 😁
I'm still struggling to see why everyone is making such a huge deal out of this—did Hamilton actually cut him off?
Yeah, he did, but honestly, come on—everyone does that all the time! : D
Plus, he cut him off by about 15 mph—it wasn't like he brought the car to a dead stop.
It looks more to me like Sebastian Vettel just stepped on the gas rather than Hamilton cutting him off.
Essentially, both of them share some of the blame here. They were both trying to squeeze every last bit of advantage out of that SC restart, and when you have two drivers fighting for a gap that only fits one, things inevitably get messy. 😁

At this point, it doesn't even matter; they both acted like rookies. Most of the great champions have had their fair share of "rookie" moments in high-pressure situations.

What actually matters is that Vettel finished ahead of Hamilton and managed to pull away a little, instead of letting Hamilton close the gap further. So, there we have it. Now, we just wait for the next showdown.

Finally, a real race! Some people are saying it feels just like those legendary days back in the '80s. Definitely hitting the like button on this one.
p.s. If Red Bull manages to snatch the title during a season like this, I’ll eat my hat—it’ll feel like they didn't truly earn it.
CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT RACE!!!

Let's go, Austin! 🎉🎉

stormybadger8 said:Sure, some numbers seem to have gone missing—though why that is, remains a mystery...
It feels like the media is buzzing nonstop about telemetry data, yet the governing body just can't seem to find a reason to actually make that decision public if it even exists in the first place...

At the very least, it’s incredibly strange that we don't have access to the same info ☕

If you look at the onboard footage, there's a clear graphic on the left side. Lewis Hamilton enters the turn at 66 KP, then slows down to 51 KP on the exit.

EDIT: And he's still sitting more than ten car lengths back behind the SC.

One of the mechanics is literally carrying it in his hands while he’s looking around for the steering wheel, but apparently, all they managed to hand him were some gloves! 🤣

I honestly feel like we’ve overlooked just how much of a feat it was for McLaren-Honda and Fernando Alonso to scrape those points together.

Huge props to Fernando!

Honestly, it’s the one track where everything just goes sideways—drivers flying off at every turn, tire degradation issues, brake failures, setup nightmares, all mixed with those massive straights and tight corners. When you throw a championship battle into that mix, it brings out the high-stakes, high-tension Formula 1 we all actually want to watch.

goldenranger6 said:That’s two races in a row where the little guy's engine just decides to give up the ghost. And it's not even happening in a P-8 Poseidon or a P-9—we're talking about the P4 Processor, a car that's really fighting for a spot on the podium. They honestly need to take a hard look at this. It doesn't matter if the car looks fast for Ricciardo; what matters is how many people on the team had to DNF today because of reliability issues while his teammate cruised to the finish line.

Today’s race was anything but typical—it definitely didn't give us a clear picture of how the teams actually stack up against one another.

Shit happens, what can I say? 🙂 Life goes on, and there are plenty more races ahead of us.

Setting aside all the incidents and whose side everyone is taking for a moment...

Man, that was one hell of a race. 🙏

goldenranger6 said:The folks over at Haas are honestly just struggling... they haven't been able to sort out those brake issues since the season kicked off. If they don't get a handle on it, the team is going to lose even more ground regarding their driver standings. Meanwhile, Williams really blew it today—a mechanical failure cost them a shot at a double podium and a chance to finally climb back up the ranks. And I have to say, it’s a bit surprising to see Fernando Alonso being so vocal about his team lately... he might be crossing a line.

Max Verstappen needs to look at changing teams if he actually wants to compete—Red Bull Racing just isn't delivering a top-tier car right now.

Alonso has definitely gotten a bit cranky with all that complaining. We all know the engine situation is subpar, but honestly, if you aren't happy with the ride, just walk away.

Wait, you think Red Bull Racing can't give him a decent car? How can they manage to provide one for Ricciardo then?

I mean, seriously, the way Ricciardo handles his braking points—it’s actually insane. What is going through that man's head? 🙏🙏🙏

The only thing I can't wrap my head around is why they didn't hand out a penalty to Valtteri Bottas.
2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix: June 23–25 in Formula 1 ·
Robert Cox46 said:If there’s even a debate about whether Lewis Hamilton deserves a penalty, then there absolutely isn't one when it comes to Valtteri Bottas. That chemical reaction he had during the first lap—that was a textbook reason for a penalty.

I’m really sitting here wondering what the fallout will be—specifically, if we'll see him penalized at the next race.

It makes zero sense if they don't hand out a penalty for that hit in Turn 1.
2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix: June 23–25 in Formula 1 ·
Is everyone getting penalized except for Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton?

Things are going to get pretty chaotic after this mess unfolds ☕

And here comes Kimi.

Honestly, folks—what exactly are we even watching here? Is this racing or ping pong? 🍿🎉
