Melissa Mendoza2 said:I can give you the inside scoop since I went through this myself nearly three months ago. If you really want this, just go for it—you won't regret it. I only had a minor correction, so the difference is subtle, which is perfect for me, but I can't even describe how much more liberated I feel... I used to constantly dodge cameras and photographers because I hated my profile, but now... I’m actually proud, relaxed, satisfied, and totally unburdened... I’d do it all over again. Honestly, I'd endure everything just for this feeling. It boosts your confidence, makes you braver, and somehow everything just starts going better in life...
1. Regarding the hospital (private setting), I was only there for two nights since I don't live in the immediate area. If you are local, you might even be able to head home for recovery just a few hours after surgery. The procedure itself doesn't hurt at all—absolutely nothing. You just drift off and wake up with a splint on your nose. The surgery lasts maybe 30 minutes, depending on how complex it is, but you'll likely wake up a few hours later... I honestly don't remember much about being under anesthesia, because when you wake up, you're totally disoriented. You have no idea what time it is, what month it is, or what year it even is. For me, it felt like I had been asleep for months.
By the time I came to, I realized my surgery was at 10 AM, and by around 3 PM, I was back in my room watching TV.
As for nausea, I didn't deal with any, though I guess that depends on the person.
Like I said, there's no pain, but it's possible you'll get some bruising under your eyes that looks pretty gnarly. Mine completely vanished after 15 days, and after that, you're just slightly swollen, but nobody even notices.
You wear a plastic splint for 7 days, and you get the nasal packing removed on day 2. That's definitely the worst part of the whole thing. It doesn't hurt, but it is incredibly uncomfortable, and some girls I was with actually felt nauseous because of it—they couldn't quite pull themselves together... so just a heads-up... everything else is fine. You just have to power through that little bit, but once you see the results, you won't regret a thing.
2. Price varies depending on which doctor you choose, but here's my advice... don't just pick whoever is the cheapest. It could end up costing you way more if they mess up and you have to pay for revisions. If you're planning this, don't be stingy. Pick a surgeon with tons of experience. I paid $1,850 total ($1,600 for the surgery + $250 for the two days at the facility).
3. As far as age limits go, I think it's 18.
Good luck!! 😉
I'm curious too, which doctor did you go to? 😁
Hey guys,
Post a photo of your medical records and tell us which doctor you saw. It actually means quite a bit to me! 🙂

...
Look, it clearly says the bruising and swelling will definitely clear up within the timeframe the girl mentioned—UNLESS she goes through a more intense change like the one in the photo, which would still be visible since it's not like her students are just messing around, right?
If I misunderstood, then thank God 😁
Sandra Green81 said:Why don't you guys just post pictures? For those of us actually looking for options, we need to see firsthand what things look like with specific doctors. Honestly, I'm terrified of ending up with something like this:

I'm with you on this! 🙂
Come on, people, be helpful and
snap some photos of the results. Most surgeons out there don't even have three decent shots on their websites, so how are we supposed to know what to expect from anyone? 🙂
Rachel Vaughn85 said:Hey! 🙂
We're all waiting on those results and hearing how everything went! 😁
Where did you go exactly, who was the doctor, and what was the final outcome?
Wishing you a super fast recovery! 😍
Oh yeah, you already mentioned you were seeing Dr. Tony😛
So now we just wait for the rest. How long did the whole thing take, and how long are you going to have to deal with those nasal tampons or gauze and stuff? 😁
coppertrucker13 said:Thanks for all the support, everyone! I just finished my surgery and everything went great. Now I'm just waiting on the results after my follow-up appointment! 😁
Woohoo! 🙂
We're all rooting for you and can't wait to hear how it turned out! 😁
Where did you go, which doctor specifically, and what was the final outcome?
Wishing you a speedy recovery! 😍

I've been scrolling through some posts, but honestly, trying to digest 350 pages of info—remembering every single experience, tracking which surgeons have pros and cons, and keeping all those little details straight—is just overwhelming 😕
So, I'm asking for your direct input regarding the surgeons at the Mayo Clinic. In your opinion, who is the absolute best, and who should I definitely avoid?
(In my case, it would strictly be cosmetic—if I can manage that. I have a notch, and it becomes way more noticeable when I smile, so I’d really love to smooth that out).
THANKS so much to anyone willing to help me out with their thoughts and experiences, whether they were good or bad 🙂
Has nobody here actually dealt with the Mayo Clinic? 😕
Can someone suggest at least one private specialist in Chicago?
Thanks!
