You really put a lot of work into this plan 😁 Thanks so much! Hopefully, we'll see some photos once the swelling goes down a bit! 😉 🙂

I was thinking about heading in for an exam first thing tomorrow morning. I hope I'm not just being a total hypochondriac and overreacting..
So, did you make it to your appointment today? What did the surgeon say? Hope everything is looking okay now. 😉
Alex Hayes68 said:Hi everyone, I decided to share my experience with nose surgery with you all. Basically, I had my first nose job (purely cosmetic) about 9 months ago at a private clinic in Washington, D.C. I chose that specific clinic because so many girls I knew recommended them for nose jobs. I was pretty brave about it—handled the consultations and all the surgical details via email. I didn't actually meet the doctor until the day of the actual procedure.😲. The surgery itself went perfectly fine (general anesthesia). I woke up without any pain, and just a few hours later, I was heading home with the cast and packing still in my nose. I should mention that I didn't even have much bruising on my face, despite having a full reconstruction... basically breaking the nose, repositioning it, smoothing out the hump... After seven days, once the cast and packing were removed, my nose looked perfect. It was swollen, sure, but perfect. I figured I just had to wait a few months for the swelling to go down completely... but it didn't. Even after eight months, the tip of my nose stayed swollen and a small bump appeared. I shared my dissatisfaction, doubts, fears, and questions with the doctor who did the initial surgery, and we scheduled a revision appointment very quickly. It’s been over a week now, and I can say that so far, I am really happy... I'm just waiting for the swelling to fully subside before I can say it's finally done. So... there you go... straight from the source.
Man, 😢 I really hope you had better luck this time around, and that the surgeon actually used some skill and common sense. 😁 Can you tell us who performed the surgery? And what did they tell you was the reason that bump showed up after the first operation?
Melissa Wright8 said:Maybe my doctor didn't smooth out this side of my nose enough, because there's still this little bump left. During my last few consultations, he told me to just press on it myself, and he’d press it too—man, I swear I saw stars from the sheer pain and nausea. Ugh. Now when I try to press it myself, it hurts so much that I’m terrified I’ll mess things up and end up with a totally crooked nose.
Ouch! 😢 Honestly, I'm not even sure what to tell you... If there's any way you can get a professional second opinion, you probably should, just to see what other surgeons think. But for now, stick with your guy—just take it easy and try to stay calm. Maybe that bump will actually settle down or flatten out after a while. Fingers crossed for you! 😁
Melissa Wright8 said:I had my nose surgery about 20 days ago and I'm actually really happy with it. I had this huge hump that was making my nose look droopy, but now the profile looks perfect. My only worry is that right where the hump used to be—on the middle of my nose—there’s this little bump on the left side. The right side is perfectly smooth, but on the left, there's a lump you can feel if you touch it, and you can see it if there's overhead lighting. People say noses tend to look smaller over time after surgery, which worries me because this is clearly bone that isn't perfectly aligned. If the nose gets smaller, wouldn't that make the bump more noticeable? Has anyone else dealt with this? Also, one more thing... when did your stitches come out? I'm struggling so much with them...
So, who was your surgeon? I'm hoping that hump settles down eventually. Honestly, I think there have been quite a few posts here about similar issues with humps, mostly involving Glumičić's work, so maybe try searching through the forum a bit. 🙂 PS. Just whatever you do, don't follow the random advice people give online, like: "Massage the hump" or "rub this cream on it." Seriously, just ask your surgeon directly what you should be doing! 😉
Here’s a little bit of intel on Dr. Kinčl (it isn't specifically about rhinoplasty, but it definitely touches on aesthetics) that I stumbled upon while Googling some of the big-name plastic surgeons here in the States... honestly, some are top-tier, while others have a pretty lousy reputation. I remember the first thing I ever read about him—right here on this forum, actually, regarding nose jobs—was negative, and that's really stuck with me. I guess he's the one surgeon I wouldn't even bother booking a consultation with. 🤷 So, if you're looking into his work, or anyone else's for that matter, just Google them and ask around as much as possible before making any final calls.
analoghound6 said:Hey everyone, up until now I’ve been posting about the doctor who caused me issues with my nose, but I really need to mention someone else whose work I’ve seen firsthand. He did a perfect job on a nose surgery—his name is Vinko Borčić. And just so you know, he isn't in private practice; he works at the hospital...
He also sees patients at a clinic. I actually stumbled upon this link, but their website doesn't show anything regarding cosmetic rhinoplasty, and I’d really love to see some before-and-after photos of his work.🙄
analoghound6 said:Hey everyone, has seriously nobody here had surgery with Scarlett Johansson??
Yeah, I’m right there with you on that. Honestly, it drives me absolutely insane—their website has been stuck on "under construction" for months now. It's ridiculous. 😠
I recently posted about my upcoming surgery at Mayo Clinic—it was for septorhinoplasty. The procedure went as well as it could. It turns out Dr. Garcia from the local clinic back in the day basically "fixed" me ten years ago. I've had a deviated septum my whole life, and when I was 16, I went into that clinic because I had a throat cyst and they sent me to ENT. Dr. Garcia wouldn't take me as a patient then; he didn't want to perform major procedures while I was still developing, which I totally respect. After the surgery, he mentioned he tried to lift the tip but decided against it, and "only" scraped off a polyp in my right nostril. Fast forward ten years, and now that I finally have the time, new exams at Mayo Clinic show that my septum is a mess, my nose is ruined, my cartilage is incredibly weak, and the scar from that old surgery pulled my entire nose to the left. Dr. Jones was horrified when he opened it up. He ended up installing silicone splints to hold my septum in place, hoping that when they come out in ten days, everything won't just "collapse." He did manage to lift the tip, though, so it looks completely different now. Personally, my nose looks super thick right now, and I’m praying to God that the tip is actually capable of changing shape and won't stay looking like a potato, otherwise, I'll be looking at a revision in a year. My doctor thinks one isn't necessary, but if I decide I want a revision, we can talk about it later once the tissue heals and he's certain he can perform the specific surgery I want on the septum. Honestly, girls, I'm just glad I didn't date someone who would have had to deal with all this fixing and cartilage reconstruction and all that nonsense. Anyway, if you're going to Mayo Clinic, you're in good hands. A friend of mine saw Dr. Miller, and she's thrilled. Not to mention, her doctor gave her his cell number and told her to call anytime if she needs anything—these people are truly top-tier. Hope this helps.
Hi Henry Nelson27! 🙂
The only thing I can say after reading this is that I wish you all the best with your recovery. Don't stress too much about the width of your nose (specifically the swelling); it'll go down with time. I'm saying this based on my friend's experience—she had nose surgery about a year or two ago, also with Dr. Jones. At first, it looked really weird to all of us because of the swelling and that initial puffy look; we actually used to call her Mickey Mouse 😁 But after a while, her nose slimmed down quite a bit and she's really happy with it. 🙂 So, I hope it goes the same way for you and that you won't need any more surgeries or all that initial hassle. 🙂
Just checking in 13 days post-op... (Closed technique, Dr. Munitić) After they took the splints off, I didn't have any bruising (yellow or blue stuff...) I just looked like a little puffed-up bun... (swollen cheeks), but things have gone down quite a bit already and hopefully they'll continue to subside soon. A girl who had her surgery two days after me and got her splints removed on the same day wasn't swollen at all—zero bruising either. 🙂 🙂
Honestly, it couldn't be better right now; I'm satisfied for now, though I don't even know myself—sometimes I feel okay, sometimes I don't, because there's still swelling and my nasal bridge looks a bit too big in profile... BUT my family and friends say it looks great... I guess it isn't really realistic to expect much this early on.
I'm not using saline rinses... Breathing is excellent, actually better than before... (Besides the cosmetic issues, I also had a deviated septum..) I'd recommend that everyone uses a Q-tip dipped in olive oil to lightly moisturize the inside after the splints come out. It cleared everything out inside for me without any trouble... just a tiny bit left near the stitches (but barely anything)...
I didn't even ask the doctor about the stitches, and he didn't mention them at all (lol)
All in all, while waiting for the swelling to go down and hoping it looks even better, I'd tell anyone still on the fence to just go for it. It's nothing scary... (It was way worse when I almost sliced half a finger off..hehehhe) and I was seriously terrified...
Best,
JEEEEJ! 🙂 So glad you fixed that deviated septum and ended up with an awesome profile too 😁 Once the swelling goes down, we're expecting photos! 😛 And how many days after did you go in to have the packing removed?
Alright then, Nina Lee, once you're back, please hit me up via DM so we can talk about how everything went. We might as well discuss it there since we aren't allowed to do it here. ☕ And if anyone else has worked with this doctor, please reach out too! 🙂
amberheron242 said:He’s definitely on my radar too, so I’m eagerly waiting for some feedback... His prices seem pretty standard, right in the middle of the road...
I’m actually planning to book consultations with him and Milenovic...
Super !! If you end up going, let me know what your first impression is! 😁
Has anyone here had any experience working with Dr. Munitic? If you have, please, if you could take a moment to briefly share your thoughts and maybe send some photos via DM 🙂. He used to work at Mercury (not sure if he still does) and also at the Dr. Toncic Clinic near the fish pond in Chicago.
Do you think his prices are way too high? (And please, feel free to add your own good or bad experiences too). - Initial consultation: $133 - Rhinoplasty: $12,000 - $14,000 $0.00.
So far, I haven't seen many posts about him, but what little I have found was positive, which suddenly made him catch my eye. He seems like a real expert, and honestly, my biggest fear is just having my nasal function messed up during surgery, since everything works fine right now 🙂.
Maria Jones84 said:It’s been 12 days since my surgery. The bruising is gone and the swelling is basically minimal—the nose still hurts a bit when I touch the tear duct area, but overall, I'm super happy with the results.
Jeeej! So it was totally worth it! 😍 Just a little more patience and hopefully everything will look even better soon. 😁
Olivia Gonzalez17 said:Thanks, I'm hoping for the best too... Mary covered everything, and I actually had an appointment with Dr. Toncic myself. Everything lines up exactly with what she said, so now I just have to hope I'm just as happy with my results. I'm getting the mold removed tomorrow... fingers crossed! 🙂))
Ah, sorry, I missed that 😁 Man, I really want to see great results and, obviously, photos! 🙂)) The longer I spend on this forum, the more I seem to flip-flop on my decision, which probably isn't great 😁. Right now, I'm torn between Dr. Glumicic and Dr. Toncic, so I am super, super interested in hearing from people who went to either of them. Please, if you've had surgery with them, let us know how it went! 😍
Olivia Gonzalez17 said:Hello, I figured I’d jump in and share my experience too. Had surgery today in NYC (bump on the bridge and tip of the nose), and honestly, after being so terrified, everything went surprisingly great. It actually went so smoothly that I’m starting to wonder if they even touched my nose or just took my money and slapped a Band-Aid on it. 😉 For the most part, there's no pain, no bruising, and I can eat normally. They used local anesthesia, so I was awake through the whole thing—I even opened my eyes a few times and think I might have even said something (it all feels a bit dreamlike, unless I really was dreaming). After the procedure, I made dozens of phone calls, and now that I'm home, I feel super !!. I'm impatiently waiting to get the molds removed in a week, and I'm really hoping the results are as good as I feel right now. If they are, I'll happily share before and after photos and give a recommendation for the doctor. Best wishes to everyone!!
If you don't mind us asking, who performed the surgery? 🙂 PS. Fingers crossed for the best possible result! 🙂
Henry Nelson27 said:Hey everyone. I've been reading through almost all these threads and noticed everyone's experience is so different, so I wanted to ask for some advice. Basically, I have a deviated septum and I'm scheduled for surgery at Mayo Clinic with Dr. Jurlin. Now, I know that sometimes hospital doctors will go the extra mile for a patient and fix the aesthetic side of the nose too if they can, but others just won't touch it. Has anyone here actually dealt with Dr. Jurlin? Do you think he’d be open to fixing the look of my nose if I asked, or is he the type to refuse? If not, I was thinking about Dr. Davor Džepina as an alternative to handle it at a private clinic. I don't know why, but private clinics always make me a little nervous, though I've seen nothing but glowing reviews for him on this forum, so I might take the leap. 🙂
Here is the only bit of info I have—a friend of mine had her nose done by him about a year ago. She had a huge, bumpy nose, and he fixed the aesthetics perfectly, so I'm pretty sure he'll help you out too. 🙂 Just try to be totally upfront with him (if you haven't already) and ask him exactly what he can and can't do regarding the cosmetic side. 🙂 Good luck! 😉
Alright folks, if you're curious, take a look at how things actually go down during a procedure with Dr. Žgaraljdić. If you have the stomach for it, pay close attention to the 5:20 mark. That’s when the patient starts coming out of anesthesia and they tell her: "Antonia, wake up," (she tries to say something), and he just cuts her off: "Don't, don't say anything, the camera is filming you, just be a good girl!"
And this is how they try to convince us that patients under his care wake up from a beautiful dream, totally painless and complaint-free ^_^ Oh yeah, sure! 🙂 Honestly, I don't think it's like that anywhere, so I don't get what the big performance is for. 🙄 Personally, his whole vibe just doesn't inspire much confidence. So, instead of wasting your money on a consultation with him, just watch the first part of this report, and I think you'll get an immediate impression of the guy. Judge for yourselves. 🙂
