So, I'm trying to install Windows 8, right? Everything seems fine until the first restart. Once the Windows 8 installation starts loading up again to finish the job, my monitor just hits me with an "out of range" error message.
My setup is

Intel Pentium G2030 3 GHz Dual-Core
4GB 1600MHz Kingston RAM
Asrock H67M Motherboard
Intel HD Graphics (integrated into the CPU)

The monitor is just some 17-inch Asus

anyway, pls hwelp,
Thanks in advance

Honestly, you're better off just buying this instead of trying to upgrade that junker..

So... anyway...
I didn't just buy some pre-built rig. I picked out all the parts myself and put the whole thing together from scratch...
I can't believe I actually messed something up. I mean, I literally just finished putting this whole beast together.

John Turner34 said:which motherboard? usually, sticking to the manufacturer is best! you should install the specific drivers for the board. They actually know how they wired everything and which chipset they used...
I mean, it feels like a missing driver to me. It might not just be the VGA issue; could be the chipset or something else...
Is the power supply strong enough? I guess even if a system like this doesn't pull much power, the voltages still need to be solid. Can you check the 12V rail in the BIOS?
Is your CPU cooler doing its job? Maybe it's just choked with dust or maybe it's too weak for your CPU?

LP

Everything was bought brand new, all drivers are in, and I'm running the latest macOS..
The motherboard is an ASUS H67M
And cooling seems fine; temps stay around 35-42 C while I'm using it.

EDIT:
Forgot to mention, the PSU is 550W—not exactly sure which brand, but it has
the 20+4 pin and a 4 pin connector, but the board needs 8... is that going to be a problem?
vividridge8 said:So what did you actually do? You just left it running without any drivers for that GeForce card? I honestly have no clue how the guys over at Best Buy where I picked up my laptop managed to get the drivers installed and everything working fine... O.o

Nezz, I basically just left it without drivers, and three months later, I still haven't figured out how to fix it..

swiftlynx28 said:FIRST OFF, I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO TRIED TO HELP ME OUT, BUT I ACTUALLY GOT THE LAPTOP WORKING PERFECTLY AFTER ALL! IT TURNED OUT I WAS JUST MISSING THE DRIVERS FOR THE NVIDIA GeForce CARD, AND IT HAS 256 MB OF VRAM

AGAIN, I KNOW THE LAPTOP ISN'T A GAMING RIG OR ANYTHING, BUT BY SOME MIRACLE, IT STILL RUNS THE GAMES I WANTED, LIKE NFS AND SOCCER
SECONDLY, I WASN'T TRYING TO ATTACK ANYONE OR BE RUDE, SO IF SOMEONE FELT OFFENDED, I REALLY AM SORRY—THAT WAS NEVER MY INTENTION AT ALL
THIRDLY, WHY WOULD I SPEND $3,800 ON THAT NEW LAPTOP WHEN I ALREADY HAVE AN IDENTICAL ONE RIGHT HERE THAT I'M TYPING ON, WHICH ONLY COST ME $1000? THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS IT'S A DELL INSTEAD OF A LENOVO

Look, just take that laptop back. Seriously. Get your money back and then buy this instead.
So, I was looking at this Lenovo laptop on a site like Best Buy... just browsing, I guess. It’s one of those models that looks decent enough on paper if you don't look too closely. Probably fine for basic stuff, maybe some light web surfing or whatever. Not sure.

Honestly, yours is like twenty times worse. And since it doesn't rely on Intel HD Graphics, you aren't dealing with those constant performance headaches. It actually has an AMD Radeon HD 8750 m with 2 GB, which makes a massive difference.

Oh, right. Forgot to mention that.
Whatever you do, just don't buy a laptop or a desktop that relies on Intel HD Graphics. Seriously. Just... don't.
So, I picked up a new processor a few days ago. It's got integrated Intel HD Graphics built right in.
My computer won't even start up. Just getting these red lines on the screen and then nothing. Total brick.

Does nobody know?
That’s exactly what happened to me on my Acer Aspire—same graphics card, same exact headache.

So, I'm having this issue with my integrated graphics—the one built into the processor, not the motherboard...

When I boot up, if I don't touch anything, it seems fine. But the second I move the mouse, the screen goes black and there's this solid red line stuck on the left side.

WHAT I'VE TRIED:

Swapping out the monitor
Trying a different VGA cable
Installing various drivers (NVIDIA ones, macOS updates, stuff from the motherboard manufacturer's website)
Using a DVI cable instead

MAYBE THIS WORKS:

Connecting the PC to the monitor via an HDMI cable.

I might try to borrow an HDMI cable from someone... but I probably won't be able to do that for another two months when I'm back home.
If anyone has any fixes, please let me know so I can test them once I get back. (I might even pop home for a few days later this week, maybe.)

Thanks in advance,

Finally... someone actually gets it.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂haha.
I think I'll go with the Intel Core i3-4130 instead of the Celeron
DIY ways to boost Wi-Fi signal? in IT Support ·
I’m not really sure if you can actually jump from 10 meters to 200 meters...
maybe try building a cantenna, but you’d have to point it exactly where you want the better signal to go for it to even work.
Keith Wright2 said:I just can't wrap my head around it. First, you list an Intel Core i7 3770K, 16GB of RAM, a motherboard, and a 1TB Western Digital Blue drive, but then you end up choosing a CPU and a motherboard meant for $233 🙂

I'm just not looking to blow my budget here..
Besides, this setup is plenty powerful enough for the games I actually play...
BTW, the CPU and RAM 🤣
fadedorca66 said:Honestly, you might want to just stretch your legs for a bit and maybe grab an AMD Athlon x4 740/750/760 paired with some FM2 motherboard instead. Upgrading the RAM later is pretty easy, and I guess you'll probably need a beefier graphics card for those games anyway.

Actually, I don't even need a better GPU. I personally play Grand Theft Auto IV on low settings, so I guess I won't be needing anything more powerful than that...

PLEASE, JUST STOP POSTING HERE!
I don't need any more posts, I'll just take this:

Intel Celeron G1620 2.7, 2MB, 55W, Socket 1155, box
DDR3 4GB (1x4GB) Kingston, 1600MHz, CL9, HyperX
ASUS P8H61-M Le

Everything else,
Mouse, DVD/CD burner and reader, keyboard, speakers, cables, case, graphics card... I've got all that...

So, yeah, everything listed above:

$226

I'm using the PC for Grand Theft Auto IV, Goat Simulator, stuff like that, so it doesn't really need to be anything powerful.
Adam Moore3 said:Yeah, it would work. But if you're already picking out parts, Robert Rodriguez2's setup and mine are both better organized. Why even go for 6 GB of RAM? And why do it with 3*2? ☕ Which case did you end up using? What about the power supply? And why settle for an older generation processor?

Can someone please suggest something for under $300? Not including the motherboard, PSU, or GPU.
The motherboard is an ASUS P8H61-M Le, 1155 socket
Power supply is 450W
What about this setup? Would it work?

Intel Core i5-3550, Ivy Bridge, 6MB
6GB (3x2GB) DDR3
NVIDIA GTX 770
Keeping the same motherboard (don't really want to buy a new one)
1TB Western Digital
Hey everyone...
I’ve got a quick question for you.
I'm thinking about picking this up tomorrow:
Intel Core i7-3770k 3.5GHz socket 1150 LGA
4x4GB DDR3 RAM = 16GB
I'll grab a GPU later on, but until then, I'll just use my backup: an HD5450 1GB
A 1TB Western Digital drive
ASUS P8H61-M Le

Do you think all of this will actually work together? I've looked into it, and it seems like everything should be fine, I guess.
Also, any recommendations for a decent GPU under $167
since I'll mostly be using the PC for gaming, like
Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and Damned, Goat Simulator, Terraria, CS:GO,
and Next Car gama.
