So, I was just appointed the admin of the official school WhatsApp group after my predecessor dumped the role on me and immediately bailed from the chat. Naturally, being the person I am, I immediately reinstated her and explained that I am clearly not cut out for such a heavy responsibility. She just brushed it off, claiming her six-month term had simply expired and that it wasn't a big deal—she just wanted me to start filtering the serious applicants away from the joke group where we actually have fun. 😎 Honestly, what can I say? I immediately called all my friends to share the "thrilling" news of my sudden career advancement.
Of course, I made sure to thank my subordinates for their overwhelming confidence in me, promising that I will continue my lifelong mission of failing to meet even their lowest expectations. 🍿

Secondly, my old neighbor—who happens to be the head of our condo association here in Chicago—mentioned that some contractors are coming by this week to fix a chimney on the roof, and he’s going to pull some strings so they can patch up my partition wall too, since it got trashed during the earthquake, all using the building's reserve fund; however, he insisted I keep my mouth shut so the other neighbors don't find out, telling me to just pretend I paid for it myself.
🙂 He pulled the exact same stunt when I was replacing my windows, getting some exterior metalwork done that would have cost an absolute fortune if I hadn't played it that way.
To be honest, everyone else in our building is quite wealthy and has full-time housekeepers and whatnot, so my neighbor basically warned me that those of us living in the penthouses have to look out for one another, otherwise the people on the lower floors will probably just swallow us whole.
