So, my immediate circle at work—which is basically its own little island within the larger organization I work for—is relatively small.

Yet, somehow, I’m the only one from the South here, aside from one lovely older colleague who saved me from feeling like an absolute moron earlier this week. Otherwise, I would have spent my morning feeling like the only idiot in all of Chicago (including my students, and believe me, they are a variety of weirdo 😁) because I actually decided to wear sandals at 8 AM in 50-degree weather and walk down to the Millennium Park area just breathing out puffs of frost, purely because someone had the nerve to tell me they wore sandals the other day and call us Southerners nothing but fools. And honestly, it wasn't just that. 😁

Anyway, I also happen to have the best boss in the entire world, a guy who makes sure to give me a hard time whenever the Yankees play poorly, which, let's face it, is pretty much always: View on imgur

And that is exactly why I love Chicago so much. 🙂
