I was thinking about announcing the Chris Stapleton show on February 23rd at Madison Square Garden; it’s an indoor venue, but honestly, who cares?

silverpanther13 said:Your cover isn't exactly terrible, but the rest of this list is an absolute train wreck. For instance, they included a Whitney Houston album—which is easily one of the ugliest covers out there—in their Billboard Hot 100 most beautiful album covers ever. 🤔

Nathan Turner3 said:I just wish the soundtrack had a bit more bite, because the movie honestly put its heart and soul into the story, yet the music feels a bit underwhelming😁
bluecyclist64 said:Honestly, I find this whole thing pretty unsettling too.
I’m right there with you in thinking that no single group should hold more weight than another, and that everyone deserves to be the butt of a joke now and then.
The problem is that some people just can't seem to tell the difference between actual wit and blatant hate speech.
bluecyclist64 said:Look, even if it's repulsive and brutal, it's still technically a joke—mostly because there's actually a punchline involved. That "joke" comparing a Gypsy to a pile of crap is just pure idiocy, and frankly, only an idiot would find any merit in it. You need at least a shred of intelligence to appreciate actual humor.
neonfox12 said:This is genuinely appalling.
Matthew Anderson said:We're talking about which PDF the topic is actually in, so let's not pretend you don't understand what's going on here.
So, we've reached the point where moderators get to play judge and jury on what qualifies as a joke and what doesn't; honestly, this feels like the absolute beginning of outright censorship. 👍
neonfox12 said:Exactly, you act just like some career politician, dodging any actual important questions by retreating into mindless fluff instead of giving a real answer. 🤣
neonfox12 said:I see that’s the kind of top-tier logic you choose to throw back at me. 🙂
Sam Alvarez4 said:Some of those jokes are bordering on actual psychopathology. 🤦
neonfox12 said:And what about other groups alongside Jews and Roma?
Jacob Williams said:I think the families of those lost during the Holocaust would find themselves in complete agreement with your sentiment.
Matthew Anderson said:So, what, we’re just letting moderators decide what counts as a joke and what doesn't now?
I honestly don't see how this ends well for anyone involved. 😁
Jacob Williams said:What was posted above is frankly idiotic and, honestly, I don't find it remotely funny—though it seems you don't either.
Then again, there are jokes about other groups out there that are arguably even more offensive.
-How does the average Mexican get laid?
-By rape!
-What is a little Jew doing on top of the incinerator in a camp?
-Waiting for his parents.
-And what's the moral of the story?
-Love knows no physical state.
-What happens when you cross Black genes with an octopus?
-No idea. What?
-I don't know either, but he’s out there picking cotton like crazy.
Do you see my point? Not a single one of these jokes lands for me, despite being edgy and shocking enough to potentially trigger a laugh, yet they are undeniably brutal and politically incorrect. It’s particularly distasteful when they mock someone's suffering or a massacre, but really, what is the alternative here?
Either we ban them entirely, or we allow them to exist in whatever form they take. Because as things stand, we're essentially asking moderators to play judge on whether a joke is "funny enough" to avoid deletion and punishment.
Matthew Anderson said:Fantastic, this thread has been active for over a decade. So, are you actually going to point out which specific posts from the last year are problematic? This whole situation is a textbook example of Special Interest Group behavior—it’s basically just two jokes stretched out from 2015 to now, and suddenly the moderator decides to shut the whole thing down.
Matthew Anderson said:Look, there is a massive distinction between a) politics and b) dark humor. I can certainly wrap my head around jokes being out of line for a political discussion, but attempting to ban jokes about Romani people under the guise of "humor" is nothing more than blatant censorship.
If you start banning those, you might as well just scrub everything else that could potentially offend someone.
neonfox12 said:Ultimately, I wonder how Jews actually feel when they encounter jokes centered on WWII and their own people.
I suppose I should have expected this kind of predictable nonsense to surface again, though my disappointment is certainly tempered by the fact that I'm never actually surprised. It’s truly exhausting how some people seem to find such profound satisfaction in being consistently wrong. kaže:
One could arguably argue that America is nothing more than a deeply fascist construct, or whatever else people feel like calling it these days.
neonfox12 said:It’s fine to laugh when we're talking about jokes. But let's not take it anywhere else, and that goes for any joke about Rome, too. 🤦
