Honestly, thank God I was never really in the mood to take on any major life roles, because heaven knows what kind of little monsters would be running this world if I had

Yeah, narcissists are nothing more than parasites; they're shallow, exhausting, and remarkably dim-witted, yet somehow manage to be incredibly tedious at the same time.
I honestly know it all, and I just lost my mind yesterday when I found out we’re moving regardless, because there is absolutely zero logic behind it given how insane the rent is right now. We are heavily reliant on federal grants, which we can't even apply for ourselves since we don't fall under the right sector, but since we own property in such a high-value area, we're working out deals with an institution that *can* apply—they have spaces connected to ours, so we're negotiating how to split potential funds or offset things through equity in our property, and so on...
It is just exhausting knowing everything about this mess while having absolutely no control over any of it, and man, I am counting down the seconds until my vacation!
So, I go through all this effort to perfectly organize my life, trying to make everything as seamless and convenient as possible—including finding a job just a five-minute walk from my apartment. And then what happens? An earthquake completely guts my school, and because it’s a historic landmark right in the middle of downtown, the restoration process is basically stuck in limbo; apparently, it costs a fortune to fix, so there's zero guarantee when they'll even start, and even if they do, who knows how long it'll take given the building was already falling apart before the disaster hit. Now I'm looking at starting work this fall, and I'm going to have to commute all the way out to some tiny, desolate town in the middle of nowhere. 🤦

It’s honestly flawless in every single version. From that blue album, the title track is just phenomenal, and that violin solo by Isabelle in "Dreaming of Happiness" is nothing short of breathtaking.
Enivej, I haven't had to go into the office for five days straight now, and I'm off tomorrow too. So... my big plans involve doing absolutely nothing at all. 😁
Whenever I hire contractors to do work on my place, I find myself constantly on edge, worrying they might try to take advantage of me just because I don't know the first thing about their trade. To avoid getting ripped off, I make it a point to obsessively scour online reviews and recommendations before anyone even steps foot in my door. Yesterday, I had an AC unit installed by two seasoned pros and one intern who looked like he was still in high school. Since I live in an attic apartment, watching the veteran technician scramble out the window onto a steep, narrow roof—followed immediately by the second guy—was absolutely terrifying; honestly, I almost lost my cool and told them to forget the damn AC and just get back inside because I simply didn't have the nerves for that kind of stunt. Unlike me, they tackled the job with total bravado, and in the end, everything turned out perfectly fine. Because they were efficient and did such a stellar job, I actually broke my rule of never hosting people or treating workers, gave them a generous tip to enjoy themselves, and made sure to leave a glowing five-star review on Google.
Some guy just stormed up to me in the middle of Times Square, acting like he was deaf or mute, holding this sign that was begging for donations to set up some center for the hearing impaired and the destitute via $67 Venmo. I gave him a piece of my mind and told him off, and then the absolute nerve of the man—he actually laughed in my face and called me a communist. ))
