Look, he didn't charge me for the consultation at all... and honestly, he hasn't charged me for a single follow-up visit either. He’s actually super chill about money if you need to work something out; I've heard from a few people that he can be incredibly flexible with his fees when it counts.

For now, everything is super swollen—we're talking purple eyelids and the whole nine yards—BUT it looks like she actually pulled it off. Now we just have to play the waiting game for maybe two or three weeks to let all that swelling go down so we can see the final result.
🙏

The main thing is that you're still kicking😉 I'm crossing my fingers that the nose turns out absolutely gorgeous once the swelling clears up 👍
Linda Wilson82 said:I’ll hit you guys up again this Thursday or Friday... hang tight. And seriously, thanks for all the support.👍

Get in touch immediately with those first feedings! 😁 Hey, give my best to Glusca! 👍
Emily Martinez12 said:I'm down, thanks! 🙂
I'm actually from San Diego too 🙂 I know it sounds a bit random, but would you be up for grabbing coffee sometime? Just so you can give me your honest take firsthand. I've been overthinking this whole move for ages, but I keep hearing such conflicting stories from everyone else and... well, you probably get how frustrating that is, it was definitely the same for me...

Hahhahaha, it's a small world! 😁 Maybe we've even met before.
Let's figure out a time via PM...
Emily Martinez12 said:I don't have any issues with breathing, so my procedure will just be for aesthetics.
Look, I know I’m being a total pain in the neck, but one more thing—how much extra stuff did you end up paying for after the surgery? I'm guessing they don't just kick you out the door immediately; surely they have some kind of recovery suite where you stay for a day or two? Especially since I'm not from Miami, so I don't really know how things work there...

stormyharbor2 will probably give you a better breakdown of that... she stayed in Miami for her recovery. Just shoot her a PM; she's a sweetheart and will definitely help you out as much as she can.
As for me, I actually crashed at a friend's place nearby... once they pulled the tampons out the next morning, I just headed back to San Diego and made the trip back every couple of days for follow-up appointments.

Your nose looks amazing! That slightly upturned look really suits you. 🙂 Honestly, though, your old nose didn't even look bad from the profile view... maybe it just needed a little tweak when looking straight on. But seriously, it looks so gorgeous now and totally natural—I would never have guessed you had work done. 🙂
Just one more thing... if you don't mind me asking, how much did the surgery end up costing you? I'm planning to check in with Dr. Glusac, and I know every procedure is different in terms of complexity, but I'm just looking for a rough ballpark figure...

Yeah, for me, my nose wasn't huge or crooked per se, it was just skewed from the front and I could barely breathe through it. 😂
I went in to get my breathing fixed and figured I’d just straighten it out while I was at it... the doctor suggested a more rounded profile and I was totally down. I am obsessed with how cute it is now! 😍
So basically, I got both functional repair and aesthetics done, and the total came to about $1,850. 😁
Emily Martinez12 said:Personally, I’m way more into that vibe than some super rigid, formal doctor-patient relationship. 🙂
I’ve been powering through the last 25 pages, but honestly, all those different doctors and their conflicting opinions are starting to blur together in my head...
Anyway, rustygardener172, from what I can tell, you had your nose done by Dr. Glusac. I feel kind of awkward even asking, but would you mind sharing some photos of your nose? From what I’ve seen on his website, most of the noses he does look a bit... bumpy? They seem lower in the middle and have this weird upturned, bow-like shape, and I really don't want mine looking like that—I just want a nice, straight profile..

Mine turned out exactly like that too! 😁
But hey, I’ve actually seen a couple of girls from this forum post pics of really pretty, straight noses he did. He actually asked me if he could go for a specific shape because he thought it would suit my face better... and I went for it.
Sending the photos now...
Emily Martinez12 said:I wasn't trying to be rude or anything, I was just wondering if he's always like this.
It actually caught me off guard how fast he got back to me—honestly, it was a pretty pleasant surprise.
I guess I'm just not used to people having that kind of attitude, so I wanted to check in and see if you guys had similar experiences with him.

Yeah, that's just who he is. 😁 We’ve already chatted about this before... Some people can't stand his vibe, but personally, I thought it was great. If you're looking for some stiff, formal doctor-patient relationship, you aren't going to find it with him. To me, it felt like we'd been buddies for years. 😁 He loves talking about himself and all his little accomplishments, but as long as he's telling the truth, I don't mind one bit. 😁

P.S. I wasn't judging you either! I just laughed at your post because I "know" the guy. 😁
Emily Martinez12 said:So, I sent him an email around 3 AM last night asking if I could just send over some photos via email so he could tell me what my options are without me having to fly all the way down to Miami. He finally got back to me this morning saying— I'm prepping for two nose surgeries (one functional and one cosmetic) even though it's Sunday. Send the photos. ... and so on.
I mean, what was up with that first sentence? That kind of tone immediately puts me off... is he always like this or what?

hahahhahahah man, you people are something else... you always find the downside in everything. Did it even cross your mind that he’s literally the only person who would bother replying to an email sent at 3 in the morning on a weekend?! Honestly, you're crazier than he is. 😂
Elizabeth Wells10 said:Hey everyone! ...
I've been leaning toward Dr. Glusac this whole time, but now I'm second-guessing everything... rustygardener172, you actually went to him and were happy with the results. Could you please DM me some photos?
What’s really eating at me is that, besides everything else, I desperately need work done on the tip (narrowing and refining it), but then I read someone online saying that Dr. Glusac doesn't really touch the tip at all.
Does he actually listen to what patients want, or does he just do whatever he wants? Some of his rhinoplasty results look incredible, but others still look way too big to me... 🤷
...

I sent those photos over to your inbox, so take a look and decide for yourself if he should have messed with my tip or not.
That whole thing about him not touching the tip is total nonsense. In my case, he didn't touch it because he didn't think it was necessary, and I didn't push for it.
He totally respected everything I asked for, though I didn't have a massive list of demands. 😁
And about those noses looking too big after surgery... honestly, tastes differ. Someone probably wanted that specific look and thinks it looks great. He's not going to force that style on you if it's not what you're looking for...
stormyharbor2 said:Everyone’s definition of a "wrecked" nose is different; it's all about how you look at it. Personally, I think the noses people are calling "perfectly ruined" in this thread are actually just... well, subjective. 🤣

I'm right there with you. 👍
feralwolf47 said:So, look, they actually let me post this one, but only if I totally mask everything up.🙂

Personally, though? I think it looks pretty damn good.

👍
Hey Kate Taylor59, how can you actually be sure it’ll be one of the older docs performing your surgery instead of one of the juniors? Just because they told you so?! What do you really know about who's stepping into that OR once you've drifted off to sleep? I mean, even his son needs someone to practice on eventually... right? 😍

Honestly, I’m kind of digging Glusac’s whole "I'm the best in the business" vibe. It's that exact confidence that makes me feel okay calling the office, hitting up his cell, or firing off an email—knowing he's the one actually picking up the phone and the one actually doing the surgery... 😂
Kate Taylor59 said:Here you go, http://www.toncic.net/en/rhinoplasty-nose-correction/ 😉

I noticed he doesn't really talk about the "perfect" look either... Honestly, there are some seriously gorgeous noses out there. To me, those first two examples were the best looking, but even before surgery, those first two were already pretty solid.😁
Look, these surgeons are going to produce both stunning results and total disasters sometimes... It all comes down to taste, what the patient actually wants, and just the raw anatomy of the nose itself. Everyone is working with a different "foundation" to build on...

REVISION TIME!
Honestly, I am 1,000,000% more terrified this time around than I was the first time. Wish me luck, seriously... 🙂

Sending all the good vibes your way!!!!!!!! You absolutely have to check back in once you get those first impressions...

And about Dr. Glusac and the tip of my nose... he didn't actually touch that part during my procedure 😢 which is honestly kind of a bummer because I would’ve preferred if he had. He’s the type who thinks you shouldn't mess with something that isn't broken, and since I didn't ask him to intervene there, he didn't. When he asked what my goals were, I was super blunt—I told him I just wanted to be able to breathe properly and wanted a straight profile looking from the front. That is exactly what I got. The guy delivered everything we discussed and agreed upon.
So, here’s my unsolicited advice for anyone currently prepping for surgery: hammer out every single tiny detail about your nose and everything you want changed. I made the mistake of assuming that since I was going under the knife, he’d just "know" how to fix everything, but that’s not how it works. The doctor does exactly what you tell him to do, and I see so many people say very little but expect a total transformation. I think that's why there are so many unhappy patients out there.
Also, don't get me wrong—I'm not complaining at all. I actually love my nose just the way it is now 😍
Kate Taylor59 said:I'm not entirely sure, I think I heard something about some kind of drops you use after surgery...

Oh yeah, right. I used those paraffin-based drops once, and some others too—honestly, I can't even remember which ones. But let me tell you, they didn't do squat to clear my nose. To this day, I still haven't figured out what the point of them even was. 😂
Kate Taylor59 said:Did the saline solution sting at all when you were rinsing out your nose, or was it just the eye drops?

What kind of drops? Honestly, since my surgery, I haven't touched any nasal sprays or drops at all. And the saline? Never burned me once.
Kate Taylor59 said:I mean, can you even breathe normally, or are you stuck mouth-breathing for those five whole days? :P

Look, I had to get my sinuses cleared out after surgery once... and honestly, it was a total cycle where you’d finally catch a breath for a few hours only to have everything clog right back up again.
But seriously, I don't see why everyone is freaking out about this... it's basically no different than having a nasty head cold... you just instinctively switch over to mouth-breathing. Especially for people getting surgery specifically because they have breathing issues to begin with... if you've been struggling to breathe your entire life, I'm sure you can manage to limp through another five days of it, right?!
Kate Taylor59 said:but from what I can gather... you were at a public hospital, and things work way differently when you go through a private clinic...

So, my surgery went down in the evening. I just kept the tampons in overnight and pulled them out the next morning. Honestly, I didn't even feel them because I was out cold 😁 ...though you should definitely expect your nose to be totally stuffed up for at least five days...
Back when I had my first surgery at the county hospital, they made me keep them in for five whole days... absolute nightmare.
Angela Morales69 said:Thanks so much!
Seriously, your nose is adorable. If I hadn't seen your older photos, I would have sworn it was totally natural. You're a total knockout, honestly! Seeing this just gives me even more motivation to finally get my own procedure done as soon as I can.

Thanks. Honestly, I actually love my nose too 😍 😍 😍 😍
