Man, it’s not just about the executioner. It’s like the devil stole the punchline, and now even those overpriced, pretentious bistros over in Seattle have started serving their own brand of garbage 😵
Anyway, at least we got to see Senna this weekend at the arena... I don't know about you guys, but I'm already completely fed up with all this nonsense.
Man 😬 I checked them out back in Chicago with those decent guys from New Jersey and Brazil. They had way more intense beards back then, but now? Looking at them today... nothing has changed. 😬
A UK subsidy? Please, give me a break. 😁 Seriously though, enough with the off-topic chatter. I’d suggest somewhere like Indianapolis for the new location—it’s centrally located and easy for everyone to reach. 🙂
swiftmaker20 said:The concert scene here is pretty pathetic. The biggest thing happening this month is Zinedine Zidane playing at the tunnel. 🤦 If only Stillness would show up, I might actually have a reason to hang myself. 😉 🤣
Feel free to keep things general here, or get specific about the local music, clubbing, and concert scene—basically, anything regarding the vibe of live shows 😬 Whether you want to talk about spots like The Fillmore, Brooklyn Steel, or various underground clubs and dive bars where kids actually hang out to hear some decent sets, or even big festivals like Coachella or Lollapalooza 🙂
Sad news regarding the relocation of a certain thirsty ear 🙂
If someone actually pulls together a Jesus Lizard tribute, I’ll make it my mission to hit the singer in the head with a bottle, just to keep things authentic. 😬
Sure, they performed them, but we don't have any audio recordings of their original arrangements from before the end of the 19th century. To me, this isn't just some funny little detail; it’s a fundamental gap. We can't even talk about how interpretations differ from the "original" when the original itself is a mystery. That distinction is vital—it's what allows us to value modern musicians based on their unique stage presence and artistry. It’s honestly pathetic to see people trying to copy a ghost. I don't mind covers; adding something new to a piece is fine. But a pale imitation is always going to be a pale imitation. Even a mediocre cover is better than some kid playing a synth at a dive bar thinking they're a virtuoso just because they aren't using a harmonica 😁

Actually, it’s the exact opposite. A huge driver behind the development of modern musical notation was specifically the ability to let others perform the work. And as for when things started getting "mass-produced"? The first opera popped up back in 1597. What are you looking for, the Middle Ages?
@wiredfalcon2/">@@wiredfalcon2: Look, a band can be great, they can suck, or I can just not care. So what's the actual issue here? 🤷
What’s the connection there? Are you talking about those modern arrangements someone else slapped together using their old tracks? Personally, I think that's pretty pointless. The whole idea behind classical music has always been its original purpose—it was meant to be performed by others later on.
Classics aren't just tributes. Most of them were composed specifically to be performed by the creators themselves—take the Beatles, for instance. They weren't just writing songs for anyone to pick up; they were crafting music meant for their own hands.
Just trying to figure out what the floor is for decent sound on Craigslist... maybe $1,500+ for used gear, $1,000–$1,500 for a smaller Mission or Wharfdale setup, plus another $100 for a better interface 😁
