With $300 on the table, there's zero chance of grabbing an Nvidia card. Honestly, anything worth upgrading to costs way more than $300 (like the 5850 series).
I finally figured out what the question was. 😁
@William Lee45/">@@William Lee45: if you end up getting a new CPU (though with that motherboard, you'll probably be stuck looking at used parts), check eBay. You can find a 4850 or a GTS 250 from some sellers $250 up there
The Creative Sound Blaster is tucked away somewhere near the PowerColor Radeon HD 4850 and the GTS 250. It’s the newest card in that bunch, runs quieter, and pulls the least power... but honestly, you should be spending your money on a bigger monitor instead. 😬
Look, even "LED" monitors are just LCDs. It's all TN panels; LED is just the backlight. Unlike monitors, most TV sets use IPS or PVA panels along with that LED lighting... it really comes down to your budget and what you actually need, but honestly, just aim for an IPS monitor. Skip the cheap junk and grab one of these:
It’s possible, but you have to account for the differences in backlight technology. Then there’s the 2443nw... honestly, I think the only way to make a call is to see them in person before deciding. You can find those models in just about any Best Buy out there, so getting a hands-on look shouldn't be too hard if you want to import one eventually.
What can I even say? Both are decent enough 24" TN panels without any bells or whistles. Honestly, you can't really go wrong picking either one... though in this price range, you might want to look at the Dell instead. It actually comes with an adjustable stand—height and pivot included. It just depends on what you're looking for.
But honestly, this week is pretty manageable. Yesterday we had some subreddits, then Mandelbrot sets, Gatuso, Avdić, and a few metalheads from Poland 🙂
