There’s really no point heading over to Best Buy when they charge so much more. Let him decide what he actually needs. Honestly, if he’s looking at an 80-120GB drive, I’d probably just grab a new one. This motherboard could work:

an HD 7770 is roughly $267 brand
Well, it's possible, I guess... by the way, that H61-DG3 motherboard doesn't have PCI Express. The tricky part is that the integrated graphics on Haswell are way better than on Ivy Bridge, so he might actually be able to run some games that way.
The HD 5770 goes for about $133 in some places, while an R7 250X (HD 7770) is $233 or maybe just a couple of bucks less 😉

For years now, we haven't really seen boards with onboard graphics—everything has shifted to being on the same chip within the CPU. And honestly, neither of those GPUs are meant for gaming, I guess. 😉
Intel Pentium G3420 (3.2 GHz, 512KB, 3MB, Socket 1150, 54W), boxed. Kingston DDR3 1600, CL11, Single Rank, 4GB. It’s a Chicony HPA-350W from the Advanced Highly HPA Series—an active PSU following the ATX2.31 standard. It features a 12cm fan and comes with 20 4P connectors, 3x SATA, one 6P (PCI-E), and one 4P (CPU) connection. It can handle one HDD or FDD, includes an I/O switch, and comes in bulk packaging without a power cord. ASRock H81M-VG4, 1150
The total amount is: $385 Just some small stuff arriving in the mail. Amazon.com
Is that drive SATA?
Would this HDD work with this rig?
I'm not entirely sure what to make of this listing, but it looks like some kind of budget hardware deal. I guess it might be worth a look if you're hunting for something specific, though maybe it's just one of those random finds.
The integrated graphics should be able to handle older titles pretty well. It really just depends on which games you have in mind, I guess.
The graphics aren't actually built into the motherboard anymore; they're integrated directly into the processor itself. It’s been that way for years—most modern boards just rely on what's inside the CPU. Either way, neither of those GPUs is really meant for gaming. 😉

Your power supply is actually solid, I'm not really sure what you're worried about there. 😁
That CPU might end up bottlenecking your GPU, but it looks like it clocks pretty well. Since you've got a decent motherboard, I'd probably suggest grabbing a better cooler so you can push it closer to 4 GHz.
I think I finally figured it out. 😁 Here’s what I found over at IBM...
For the 'main' PC:
1 x DDR3 4GB (1x4GB) Kingston, 1600MHz, CL11, Value 1 x Asrock FM2A88X EXTREME4+ - AMD A88X Bolton D4, ATX, Dual Channel 1 x AMD Trinity Athlon ii x4 760 3.80GHz 4cores 1 x Thermaltake Contac 16, 775,AM2,AM2+,AM3,AM3+,FM1,1155,1156
$499
For the office build:
1 x AOC E2250SWDAK, 21.5", 16:9, 1920x1080, speakers, 200 cd/m2 1 x HDD 500GB Seagate, Serial ATA III, 7200 rpm, Barracuda 7200.12 1 x Chicony HPA-350W, Advanced Highly HPA Series 1 x Advanced Highly HPA Series 1 x MS LOGIC A33 without power supply, Midi tower, ATX, 5.25" external slot
$499
The integrated graphics aren't anywhere near a GTX 650... Even the A10 7850 k Apa APU, which supposedly has the best integrated graphics on the market, is still pretty far off—it's more on par with a GT 640 DDR3 card. So, I guess I'll just need to pick up some super cheap, used card for this office machine just to get an image on the screen.
I'd probably just grab the R7 260X instead... $267 you get something brand new with a warranty, and the performance sits right somewhere between the GTX 560 and the 560 Ti.
