How to change your perspective? in Spirituality ·
I’ve been thinking lately—is it actually possible to shift your entire perception just by tweaking a few daily habits or perhaps moving to a different part of the country?

Is there anyone actually cheering for your wins?
Does anyone out there back your ambitions or support what you're trying to do?

Oh, and one more thing! What kind of music are you into 😁?

Lonely... I guess I feel that way sometimes, though not always...

After going through a pretty intense period of depression and some seriously stressful times, I’ve finally started to settle down—I suppose I'm a little more level-headed now, maybe just a tiny bit 😁. I’m just taking things one step at a time; focusing on the small victories first, then eventually moving toward the bigger ones... and yeah, there are people who celebrate when I succeed (though some do seem a bit envious, even if I can't quite figure out what they'd have to be jealous of, honestly 😕 )
. And yes, I make sure to work out for at least 40 minutes every single day, allowing myself one rest day a week...

As for support... even if people are trying to support me, I don't really feel it, hmm. People often tell me how much they believe in me, but I guess it doesn't always ring true to my ears🤷

Ah, music 😍—that's what really sustains me, especially when I stumble upon something deeply profound. I listen to a bit of everything; I wouldn't say I'm tied to any specific genre... it ranges from classical to metal, R&B, pop, American hits, international tracks, Arabic, Chinese, or even the "commercial trash," as the self-proclaimed music critics might call it... I suppose my playlist has a little bit of everything 🤣

Have you ever thought about trying to change something else instead of just riding the mood swings?

Now, that is a really solid point. 👍

I definitely have a goal in mind and I am putting in the work to get there—but, I don't know, I still feel this lingering sense of sadness, or maybe just a bit of melancholy... hm...

I suppose I might have been a little bit... excessive? Perhaps even a touch overzealous—though I can’t say I regret it entirely. It feels like things moved just a bit too fast, I guess. Maybe I should have paced myself better—but then again, who really knows? 😍

I’m not really one for messing around with heavy chemistry or anything... honestly, the multivitamins I’ve been taking lately seem to be doing more than enough for me. I suppose I’m just quite sensitive in general—and if I had to pick the absolute worst part, it would have to be how much my moods tend to swing. I don't know how you all handle it, my fellow moody people, but I feel like I go through an entire spectrum of emotions in a single day—and it’s been that way for several years now. 😁 My family keeps telling me they’ve never met anyone quite as unpredictable as I am...

And love—well, it’s important, incredibly important... but I suppose you just can't force someone to love you, nor can you really force yourself to love someone else either...

It’s nothing, really—it doesn't matter one bit 😁

Gosh, it's strange—last night while I was typing, I felt so calm, just completely relaxed and centered... I wasn't feeling sad or unhappy at all. But then, I woke up this morning with this heavy sense of sorrow... and now, out of nowhere, there's just this painful emptiness mixed with sadness and nostalgia... I honestly don't know how to put it into words; it isn't exactly dark thoughts, more like a lingering sensation... and I find myself feeling this way quite often... it doesn't really feel normal to me... As for my workouts, I’ve reached a point where I need something much more substantial than just the physical training itself... I don't know anymore...

I really love the way everyone writes here—it’s quite different from what you get in a psychology seminar. It feels more, how should I put it, spiritual? And I honestly find that refreshing 😍
I’m fully aware that nothing just falls into your lap; everything requires actual work, whether it's physical fitness, mental health, or even just getting an education... I suppose I’m probably the least lazy when it comes to physical tasks, maybe simply because that feels the most straightforward 😁as for maturity, I guess that’s something that eventually arrives through experience... and I’ve come to realize that whatever you're tackling, the key is to take it one step at a time... if you try to skip ahead, you might just end up breaking under the pressure... it’s a bit like building a house—you have to lay the foundation and build the walls first 😁if you miss even a single brick, the whole thing might just crumble when a strong wind blows, haha

Oh look, I’ve started another thread of my own 🙂
I suppose it all comes down to perception—I mean, when I’m in a good headspace, I feel like I can conquer anything, spreading positivity and just naturally drawing people toward me... but then, when my mood dips and I fall into that dark hole, everything feels bleak and hopeless, like there's simply no way out... there's just no balance... I have to admit, these emotional swings are getting a bit exhausting... I spend so much time reading stories—instructional ones, self-help tales, I just love them—but they rarely seem to stick... I might feel a sense of peace in the exact moment I'm reading them, but as soon as I put the book down, I slide right back into my old ways, just total chaos 🙂
And it’s interesting how this sense of rebellion rises up inside me every single time I realize I've done something wrong, yet at the same time, I feel like I could finally find some peace if I were forced to completely overhaul my entire life path... though, honestly, the idea of diving into such a massive change scares me a little bit...
Maybe this sounds more like something you'd discuss with a therapist, but it isn't really about that—it's more about being right here, in the thick of it...

And perhaps I should consider shifting my perspective... though, honestly, how does one actually go about changing their perception?

I suppose I might need to sketch out 😁

It’s no secret—the cops aren't out looking for me or anything 😁 I'm just a guy from the coast
@brisktiger56 — I guess I'm not sure what part of this you're struggling to grasp? Your comment actually gave me a bit of inspiration, though I suspect that spark might be rather short-lived... the thought sort of reached a certain point and then simply reflected back at itself—it didn't quite reach 'me,' if you catch my drift 🤷

Hehe, I really wish I could tag along with you—if only I lived in New York City instead! 😁
I actually made it out there this past winter, and honestly, it was pretty cool 👍

brisktiger56 said:So, basically, you want to be surprised without actually knowing the details. Well, newsflash: you already live that way every single day. That blindfold was ripped off the moment you actually woke up to reality. Now, everything you see around you could be a total blast—like a trip to a carnival—or it could be a massive letdown because things aren't how you imagined them. Just try being honest with yourself for once; figure out exactly what or who is missing from your life, and then go make those changes happen.

Who knows, maybe you'll finally find your version of happiness while riding the Ferris wheel at the carnival 🙂

I'm honestly fascinated by how you handle things👍 but I wonder... how long can that last before the first real test hits? 🙂
(just a predictably strange creature...)

brisktiger56 said:Anyway, go ahead and hunt down some moonlight or whatever... just bring someone along who you'll actually have to drag out the door😉

But that's not quite what I meant—you actually said earlier that you should take me there blindfolded... and honestly, that part stuck with me—the blindfold and the whole big surprise element, ta-daaa! 🤣

brisktiger56 said:What about you guys? You’d just end up asking some Americans in liquid German 😉

Do you really think that would help you?

If you're from New York City, I'm thinking maybe there's a moon over Times Square or Spanish Harlem... man, I don't know—the British would probably just respond in fluent British 😁

No, I don't truly believe it would help me—I don't think anyone can help me at this point, I guess😂
It would certainly be nice, though—that much is for sure.😁

brisktiger56 said:I'm with you on that one. Honestly, the best way to handle someone that exhausted would be to blindfold them and drag them straight to a carnival. Once they're strapped into those massive, bone-rattling rides, that's when you rip the blindfold off. Throw in some trampolines, maybe a bungee jump just for kicks, and then finish it off by scaring the life out of them in a haunted house. 😉

Well, I guess my master plan is ruined now that I've actually laid it out... total bummer.

And honestly, I haven't experienced that myself yet, though it sounds like it would be quite an adventure! 👍

I'm honestly quite curious, though—what exactly is this technique? 🙄
