I suppose I agree; there are certain artists you really should stay sober for.
But then again, there are those where listening sober feels like a sin. For me, Gogol Bordello is that case.
And finally, there are musicians you really ought to listen to stone-cold sober. Though, I guess I'm not sure if you can always call them musicians.
Another thing regarding alcohol is concerts. Honestly, I can't go to a show without having a drink. That goes for classical music too, I guess. My last decent session with some wine was during Tchaikovsky...
I wasn't sure where this belonged or if there was already a thread about this movie.
Big Fish & Begonia
An Asian animated film. In short—it blew me away (didn't expect much, given the 7.1 on IMDb and 91/72 on Rotten Tomatoes).
The story is just this beautiful, fairy-tale rollercoaster. It’s like an emotional gamble with everything you’ve lived through, dealing with the ache of platonic love and questioning the bond between the divine and the human realm. You follow the timelines of a young girl and a boy searching for what it means to truly exist, where being loved is subversively tied to the act of loving—actively and sincerely. This film is a gem, I guess.
Next time, just follow the rules. Click the little icon to report it and wait 24 hours. If nothing happens by then, maybe let us know here.
Another option—which some other users do, I guess—is to just send me a DM about the post. A lot of stuff gets handled pretty easily through private messages.

I figured that out. Just another one of your sneaky, low blows. That’s why I responded the way I did above, but you just kept digging your own grave! I knew what you were.
Well, regarding those moderation rules— how many penalty points have I actually handed out to you so far? For anyone wondering—the answer is zero!
Just like how I delete other people's posts without issuing penalties (which I could easily do if I actually wanted to), I do the same with yours. You’ve had posts deleted that I could have easily slapped you with warnings for, but I didn't. And nobody ever complained, "Why didn't you give Christian Torres3 a warning and just delete the post instead?!!!"
It's simple—usually, I just delete. I rarely issue warnings. That's reserved for when someone truly deserves it.
And since you clearly wanted this thread to be even more of a failure, you went ahead and linked a post that was already penalized. Brilliant logic there!
Lock this thread. Christian Torres3 is a veteran here who knows the rules inside out, especially regarding those little triangles and the 24-hour deadline after posting.

I guess that one show at the New York Stock Exchange where they played nothing but old tracks earned them some respect. But nowadays? It's all just mainstream garbage...
Look, I guess Foo Fighters are consistently good to me. Sure, they changed, but sometimes even for the better. My only issue was when they started making songs for soccer players (purely commercial stuff, like those Budweiser sponsorships...). But The Band actually matured musically and creatively; they moved past that initial punk sound and pulled it off brilliantly!
As for Dubioza Kolektiv, yeah... that's a different story. Their first few albums were interesting, but after that, it's just trash. I feel like they just churn out the same thing over and over. I stopped listening. It got boring.
U2, man. It’s been at least 20 years now. I guess even Bono himself just gets under my skin with all that political stuff, and the band? They've become monotone and boring. I just can't deal with them anymore, even though I used to be such a huge fan!
Adding this quickly (if I remember right, or rather, how I skip through playlists) 🙂
Bajaga, I used to go to concerts by that guy and his Instructors back in the day! But now... the guy is just a massive musical bore... especially those depressing vocals in the slow songs!
Psihomodo Pop - I don't even understand myself, how could I ever listen to that!
Starting a new thread. I suppose the title makes everything obvious, but... which bands or artists did you used to listen to, love, or obsess over... only to eventually get bored of them? Lost all interest...
To start:
From the US: Eagles, though I only listened for a bit. Can't stand them anymore; just incredibly boring. Prljavo Kazalište—used to like them, but after Street Hero, less and less, now absolutely not.
From outside America: Bo Diddley, he used to be a genius to me, now I just skip him.
Phil Collins and Genesis—listened to them quite a bit once, now I’m practically allergic. 😁
Starting this new thread based on some posts I saw in other PDFs. If there’s already an existing one and I missed it, please merge them.
I hear all the time that Americans are a financially illiterate nation. People claim it's because of everything from a failing school system to leftovers from the old regime, or just plain laziness when it comes to learning, plus a lack of decent financial education available...
What's your take? How do we fix this mess?
Please share any examples from your own circles that either support or debunk this idea...
Brian Gonzalez24 said:One more thing... would you suggest ignoring (either you or other mods) someone who describes an entire nation as a bunch of losers just because certain government officials from that nation committed truly terrible crimes? Even worse, if someone identifies as part of that nation, personally they'd be smeared on this forum as someone covering up crimes or "downplaying" them, even if they didn't participate... simply because they identified as American, Mexican, Canadian, etc.
On the subreddits I moderate, I don't allow that and obviously I hand out punishments, but that user hardly ever shows up there (Travel—don't recall seeing them there at all; General Discussion or Linguistics—maybe, but very rarely...).
Just post examples here so the supermods can see them (you have to realize the site admins really don't have enough time to review every single post every day).
