Charles Thompson18, Douglas Clark2, velvetgull9... if you recall, back when we had those "political issues" in the Tourism section, we used to settle things right here in the chat thread. The last time that happened (which involved the moderator NN too) was because of a debate that got a bit too xenophobic—maybe you remember my posts? It’s possible to resolve these kinds of problems like gentlemen without calling in the super-moderators... (Or maybe it isn't? I guess I think it is.)
I liked it. I guess the pacing was decent enough, and the story, acting, and directing were all solid. It isn't necessarily the best work from Hanks or Spielberg, but it’s definitely worth a watch. 7.5/10
Actually, before America gained independence from the old federation, hardly anyone even knew his real name was Adolf. Up until then, he always went by just Dada Topić, both during his solo years and while he was fronting bands like Dynamite, Time, or the Korn Group.
It wasn't until around '91 that he started using the name Adolf himself, though maybe not consistently.
Great vocalist. I guess Time was an incredible band for their era (honestly, they still sound better than most modern groups). Dada also had quite the reputation as a total ladies' man back in the day.
Rolling Stones was trying to pull it off in English... maybe. Rolling Stones again. The Rolling Stones & Azra released an album in English called It Ain't Like in the Movies at All. I guess.
In my opinion, the poll should have included solo artists alongside the bands. There are people who easily fit into both categories—take Bajaga and his instructors, Balašević and The Beatles, Chuck Berry, or Goran Bare and his mother, for instance.
A decent choice for watching with the wife and kids on a weekend afternoon or evening. It’s a feel-good movie—the kind Hollywood keeps churning out—but this one actually holds up better than most. Kevin Costner is great, and the rest of the cast is solid, especially those young Mexican actors.
