Sure, I’m a regular reader of film reviews. There are definitely certain critics out there whose praise is enough to make me want to track down a movie I hadn't even heard of before. That said, I truly believe every film deserves its own chance to be seen before you pass judgment. For me, reading reviews isn't about being told what to watch or what to skip; it's more about engaging with people who actually have an above-average grasp of cinema—even if I don't always agree with them—and picking up some basic context before I hit play.

Brenda Carter96 said:Look, the movie is essentially about nothing. Or rather, it's about that "nothingness" that hits you once your streak of success dries up—those lean years, the way people drift apart, and how raw ambition and selfishness constantly clash with whatever humanity you have left buried deep inside... things like that.
Personally, I thought it was pretty good. It’s not a masterpiece, but it's solid.
😁
It's actually more accurate to say it's about nothing. 🙂 I'm with you. I actually liked it quite a bit. It definitely didn't deserve this kind of thread or all this treatment... plus, they even misspelled the name. 😢 I think Dylan's work is fantastic, but Robert Downey Jr... hmm 😍
Morgan Hall69 said:The 1997 movie Fever Pitch starring Colin Firth is amazing😁 I have zero interest in watching the American version👎 Personally, I think High Fidelity is a great film and one of the best book adaptations out there. I read the book first and loved it, and the movie didn't disappoint me one bit. Jack Black 🙏
steelharbor12 said:Honestly, anything by Nick Hornby is top-tier for me! In my eyes, he’s easily one of the best modern writers out there, right up there with Irvine Welsh. I didn't actually finish the movie because I had to head out 😢 . I definitely need to make up for that. You really should pick up 'How to Be Good' by Nick Hornby. The book is fantastic—just a total blast. The only one that didn't quite land for me was 'Fever Pitch.' Man, I could go on about him forever... sorry everyone!
Nick Hornby is the only author whose entire bibliography I've actually read. 😁 😁 😁 Yeah, I'm with you there—'Fever Pitch' was the only one that bored me... honestly, I can't even remember the movie anymore...
fadedfalcon60 said:To movie is fine, I guess, if you just want something to watch—but honestly, once you read a book now... it simply doesn't compare. That said, I have to give credit where it's due to that blonde actress I saw in that American film "Mifune." She’s quite captivating. What was her name again? I'd love to know! :-)
Exactly that... I have just as much love for the movie About a Boy, even if Hugh Grant is the one starring in it. 😁So, we have the book (which was written by Nick Hornby, right?) and then the movie. Honestly, that High Fidelity shop feels like a total pipe dream compared to how much better the book is. Still... you can't deny the charm of John Cusack. 😍 😍
Melissa Torres4 said:Oh, please! You really think you're being subtle?! 😠 I mean, look at how you're searching for an actor from Indianapolis. It’s blindingly obvious you just want John Doe, but bad news: he’s mine! MINE! ALL MINE!
Did you hear me? Seriously, did you even listen to what I said?!? 😠
I was wondering if anyone here knows the actual process for selling a screenplay? Who am I supposed to reach out to, and how does the whole thing work? Also, what kind of money are screenwriters actually making in the US? Just trying to get a sense of the reality here.
👍
I heard that HBO is looking for new scripts for upcoming series. It seems like Jelen Veljača has finally run out of ideas. 😬
So, let's just say there wasn't any mention of R. Kelly's I Believe I Can Fly. Pretty mediocre stuff. It’s not like I’m obsessed with pop music, but I still enjoy catching a few tunes on the radio every now and then...
Ugh, there are just so many of those unromantic 80s ballads out there... I wouldn't call myself a fan, per se, but honestly? I can't help but turn them up when they come on the radio.
I've only listened to I'm Wide Awake, IT ' Morning, unfortunately (and yes, the "only" part is what stings)
First day of my Life is such a masterclass in songwriting. It’s short, stripped back, honest, unpretentious, quiet, and just... sweet.
So if you want to be with me With these things there’s no telling We just have to wait and see But I’d rather be working for a paycheck Than waiting to win The lottery Besides maybe this time is different i mean i really think you like me Besides maybe this time is different I mean I really think you like me

Are you kidding me right now? I'm the one who actually brought that child into this world!!! 🙂
And yeah, sure, I happen to be one of those "famous" types, but trust me, I have zero interest in revealing my true identity to the world. I hope you guys can respect that and still hang out with me... 🙂
