Call me crazy, but I feel like that's exactly why Michael Schumacher and Mark Webber left.
At the end of the day, both of them were pretty loud and clear about hating this artificial circus of tires, DRS, KERS, and all these gimmicks that basically kill actual racing...
What we end up with is a bunch of sudden performance swings, piles of overtakes, and "unpredictable" races (which is just code for chaotic), but when you look back at the full season, you might find maybe ten actual, legitimate duels or passes. Everything else feels less like racing and more like what Webber called "American wrestling"🙄
hehe 😁
Where did he actually say that? I missed it.
I’ve sort of picked up the impression that messages are being sent from his camp telling everyone to let this blow over quietly and just leave him alone.
I caught a bit of an interview on BBC during FP3, or right before qualifying, with his old man (super likable guy, by the way), and he only said a few brief sentences. He wouldn't say a single word about Red Bull, not even when they asked a suggestive question... just that Mark was getting a bit of the "rough treatment" at Red Bull, blah blah blah. His dad just went, "Nooo," insisting everything was fine, though he did emphasize that Mark always worked incredibly well with Newey and Dietrich.
By the way, Mark mentioned something about staying on in some kind of collaborative role with Red Bull.🤷
And yeah, I’ve mentioned before how tight-lipped those Germans can be when it comes to Mark (just think back to Monaco 😁), but my sources wrote that he actually had offers coming in from several different Formula 1 teams.
Does anyone know the real story? All I know is there was interest from the red cars, nothing else.🤷
