stormybadger8 said:How on earth can you compare Jean-Éric Vergne to Mark Webber when you look at actual results? 🙄
Are you trolling me here, or are you just willfully ignoring reality? 🙄
Helloooo!!!
Mark Webber
9 wins
36 podiums
11 Pole positions
15 fastest laps
917.5 career points
Jean-Éric Vergne
0 wins
0 podiums
0 Pole positions
0 fastest laps
29 career points
In which single one of those categories is Vergne even remotely close? 🙄
Do you realize that in the entire history of Formula 1, there are only 104 drivers who have ever won a race?
And looking at the current grid, there are plenty of them—we actually have nine right now because the competition has been so intense over the last few seasons... five World Champions plus four other drivers with at least one career win...
And get this: Webber has more career wins than seven different World Champions!
But no, let's just rank Vergne alongside him. 😵
Whoopsie! 🙂 I didn't notice that massive bold text. 🙂
There you go.
(Though you're shouting at the wrong person, since they weren't actually making a direct comparison, but fine. 😬🤣)
Just imagine how he feels when that mummy starts attacking him, claiming he’s incompetent, or "guilty," or accusing him of being "red" in his head.
For God's sake, he took a driver from a backmarker team and turned him into a top-tier racer.
We talked about this all last year—how once that driver finally hit the track at places like Pocono and started showing some real grit in duels, it was clear he had become much tougher alongside Mark.
Then, instead of being appreciated, he gets treated ungratefully, facing that absolute garbage at the start of the season where they showed total disrespect not just to him, but to the entire team.
And then people wonder why everyone is turning on him. 😁 Come on. 😁

stormybadger8 said:If you look at the numbers—Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Mark Webber, Valtteri Bottas, and Nico Rosberg were all hitting S1 times around 24.7-25.0 and S2 in the 27.9-28.2 range.
Then you have the crew with Jean-Éric Vergne and Adrian Sutil sitting at 25.0-25.5 for S1 and 28.3-28.8 for S2.
And then there's the Kimi Räikkönen and Fernando Alonso group, dragging behind with S1 in the 26.x range and S2 somewhere in the 29.x territory.
So, honestly, shouldn't we just expect the faster drivers to actually finish ahead? It’s basic math at this point...
Though, who knows—maybe our "maestro" was just playing around, warming up for some mythical final sector where he magically pulls two or three seconds on everyone else...
🤣🤣😂

Anyway, looking at that first lap on fresh tires—Sebastian Vettel actually clocked the best time through sectors one and two...
Mark Webber had an excellent first sector, but his second was a bit weaker...
Lewis Hamilton put down a solid first and an outstanding second...
The three of them were basically grouped within about 0.200s of each other, with Sebastian Vettel leading, Webber in second, and Lewis Hamilton in third..
And just to add a little detail—through Qualifying 1, Qualifying 2, and Qualifying 3, Vettel was consistently pulling ahead by roughly 0.5-0.8s in the third sector, which happened to be where Webber struggled most among the trio...
They still had another two laps left—maybe even three, I don't feel like digging through the footage right now
Please, just don't try to tell me it was impossible or that they couldn't have caught him—seriously, please don't😁😁
ps. By the way, thanks a ton for all those numbers you laid out; they’re actually great to look at, honestly—it's a total data dump, damn☕
😎 & 😎
pps. And it just hit me—Coulthard mentioned maybe three or four minutes before the end of qualifying that the grid was set, the weather wasn't going to shift much more, and the third sector was a complete mess

Lewis Hamilton was arguably just a hair quicker than Mark Webber, but honestly? I still think Webber would have snatched it from him in the third sector...
and it isn't just him ☕

right?
It's the truth—that guy could get lucky if the clouds actually break at just the right moment.

How much luck does this guy actually have? 🙄
though I bet Lujo could wash him clean tomorrow, haha 😁
aha, he’s really feeling himself right now 😁
Lujo is throwing some coffee at the starting line tomorrow @ 1:15 ☕

🙂
It’s honestly no surprise he’s feeling down—when a bunch of absolute morons obstruct everything he does, acting like there's no tomorrow and proving they're completely blind to his actual value, you'd be miserable too.
Man, if he would just take a second in his life to actually put pen to paper and document everything he’s had to endure from those so-called "power players" in the industry,
it would be something (🙂)
but I won't hold my breath.

Maybe they’re just playing it safe because those guys got some kind of special treatment for "staying quiet"—we'll see how that plays out. 😬🤣

Oh, give me a break. They’re acting way too smart for their own good—there’s definitely more to this story. 😬
It’ll probably end up being one of those situations where everyone was cutting corners, except for those two drivers who supposedly got some "special treatment" and immediately started making a scene.
Look, you can see how everything was being squeezed tight behind the scenes—the bottom line is: everyone is at fault here, but we're all going to pretend nothing happened. 😬

hihi 😁😁
Look, let's be honest—they've basically had a complete moral meltdown over the last few days and weeks. It's true.
But I was actually talking about the "softies" (the noble ones, like Perez)—this? This is just pure trash. You aren't following me at all. 🙂
Anyway, even if you think Perez has gone off the rails—and honestly, looking at the current state of things, it's hard not to be unimpressed—
he’s actually stepping up and defending the honor of the softies.
Nes is going to be finished because of them. 😁😁
And PS, don't hold your breath, by the way—he'll be back eventually. 😢

He called it—that supposed "secret" testing phase that nobody actually understood, let alone knew how they even justified it or by what authority 🤣 they pulled it off 🤣
.
But honestly, you can't even blame him; nobody really saw this coming, especially not when someone as soft as a marshmallow was expected to stumble this hard 🤣😢

I watched that bit you were talking about too
I didn't quite wrap my head around half of it 😬
But that part at the end—the idea that he was bleeding time because he was braking way too early, time he otherwise wouldn't have lost
even when you factor in that double pit stop
Hmm...🤔..I guess? Honestly, I'm not even sure anymore 😁
