Don't get me wrong, but I remember just a few weeks ago Grace Peterson17 couldn't even tell the difference between Intel and AMD, and now suddenly they're out here putting entire PC builds together? It feels like a bit of a leap. 😁
I was hoping I could grab some advice regarding a new graphics card. It’s been a long time since I really sat down to play games on my PC, so I’ve decided it’s finally time for a little refresh—right now, I'm still running an EVGA GTX 260 OC.
Just a heads-up, I’ll be buying through Best Buy using a corporate account, mainly because it simplifies the billing and gives me a decent discount. If I had my way, I’d probably pick up an ASUS card, but they don't seem to have them in stock there. I've been looking at cards in the GTX 760 and 770 range, which brings me to a few questions:
-Which specific manufacturer or model would you recommend? -Is there perhaps a GeForce option in this price bracket that might actually perform better? -And one last thing... does anyone know why most of the graphics cards on the Best Buy site are showing as out of stock? Everything seemed to be available just a few days ago. 😁
The rest of my setup is:
Cooler Master HAF 912 ASUS M5A87 ASUS M5A87 motherboard AMD Phenom II 965 Black box 8 GB G.Skill Sniper series 850W Scythe Chouriki 2 8 GB G.Skill Sniper series 850W Scythe Chouriki 2 power supply 1 TB Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS Hard Drive

Right, because clearly this Porto match is totally irrelevant and the players will just wander around the pitch aimlessly. They'll obviously just wait to find their chance to advance by picking up wins against a weak PSG and Dynamo Kyiv instead.🤣>
It’s been over eight months since I last placed a bet, but I just couldn't pass up this Porto vs. Dinamo Chicago matchup. I still have such fond memories of Dinamo; they were a total gold mine for me during last season's LP. Anything can happen on paper, but honestly, I just don't see how a Dinamo side that's struggling against some bottom-tier teams can pull off a win against Porto. Porto isn't going to walk into this underestimating anyone like they did with APOEL earlier this year. 10/10 on Porto.
Since I managed to land a solid winner the other day, I figured I’d give it another shot tonight with a small stake. Any tips or thoughts are more than welcome.
Michael Diaz said:For the role. $33 You have to put down $1,200... and you basically need to hit about eight winners—calculated roughly based on the odds—just to break even on your initial stake. It’s really just simple math at that point; after that, everything else is entirely up to your own intuition. 🤷
Personally, I’d much rather just play all twelve X's... at least one usually covers my stake... and honestly, it isn't exactly rare to see three of them come through. 😁
I’ve given that same thought some consideration myself, though I have to admit, I’ve never actually marked an "X" on a betting slip in my entire life. To me, it just always felt a bit... unserious. Like you weren't really committing to the outcome. Still, I suppose I could give it a shot if I were playing for much smaller stakes.
I’ve been trying to gather some insight from other players lately. My relationship with my bankroll management is actually solid—I’m a pretty disciplined guy when it comes to following my own rules—but I’ve hit a bit of a wall. I just can't seem to settle on a consistent betting style. Whether it's sticking to singles, going for doubles, focusing on over/unders, or trying out combo bets... nothing seems to stick. It's like I have the discipline, but I'm missing that steady rhythm in my strategy. Thanks for the reply.
What do you guys think my odds would be if I decided to play all 12 games today as singles with equal stakes, but strictly betting on the favorites? Just thinking out loud here, purely theoretical—I'd love to hear what the more experienced folks around here think. Thanks.
Joshua Garcia8 said:Great, except you know how the rules work here... either you upload the actual slip or you're breaking the guidelines.
And I remember you mentioning on the daily thread that someone might bet $100 to walk away with $60—wasn't it just easier to simply list the odds? Or, if there's really a need to talk about specific amounts, why not just attach the ticket right then and there?
Yeah, that’s what I was wondering... Why is it mandatory to post a ticket when people are already talking about specific stakes or potential payouts? Especially when we're dealing with ridiculous numbers like $6.75...
To me, it feels like a bigger violation of the spirit of things to lead people straight toward a loss, like this one:
I posted a bench press video a few days ago, but honestly, it was a total bust. Thanks for the feedback, everyone; I’ll definitely be more mindful next time. As for my muscle-ups, right now I'm strictly sticking to the Olympic style—you know, high bar, basically touching the floor—and the front version. I’m done with the parallel bars for now; that stuff is just not for me. I'll probably upload a clip of that one day too, just so we can break it down together.
Alright, alright... next time I’ll make sure my back stays flatter. 😁 But honestly, you have to consider that I was taking it easy on myself, so I didn't feel the need to be as precise with my form. Come on, Michael Rivera63, just post a video. There's no need to be shy—just wrap a towel around your head if you're worried about being recognized 😉 (you see how these guys always try to mess with me...)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnrdP...eature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qSeV...om=PL&index=53 It works for some people, I suppose. For instance, I don't really feel any of that weight pressing down on my shoulders or upper back at all; instead, it seems to settle right into my posterior chain.
Michael Rivera63 said:The weight is solid, but the form isn't quite there yet.
If you don't set yourself up right at the start, you end up slipping straight into an RDL position with a rounded back.
It feels like you might need to put some more work into those hamstrings and really learn how to engage the glutes properly.
At least, that’s my take on it.
So many lifters out there move with a slightly rounded spine. I could easily drop my hips lower if I wanted to, but this feels right for me. Still, I see where you're coming from. Thanks for the tip.
I gave it a shot, but honestly, that specific leg and back positioning just doesn't sit right with me. Usually, I stick to a narrower grip, but I’m playing around with some different variations at the moment. I was actually just sitting here watching these training sessions by Gunthor. It's really solid stuff—no unnecessary fluff or nonsense, just straight to the point. 😁 Come on, someone else needs to drop a video of their own routine.👍
Jamie Rivera70 said:So, we're looking at a 33lb plate and a 33lb bar here (totaling about 66lbs)? Solid numbers once again. It looks to me like your setup leans more toward a powerlifting style. I actually prefer it that way too, though I tend to drive my legs even further under my center of mass, use a slightly narrower grip, and keep my elbows tucked closer to my ribs. With a wide grip, my elbows usually start acting up. But hey, this way works for me since I didn't really focus on bench pressing much in the past.
The weight, though, is great. 👍
Yeah, looked like your spotter threw you off a bit there. 😁
Oh man, honestly, the first video where things didn't go perfectly was actually pretty good... but it doesn't matter, next week will be better. I just knocked this set out spontaneously, mostly just to get some footage. The bar is 22lbs, the plates are 33lbs, and if you look closely, there are also those small 5lb plates on each side. My elbow has been bothering me ever since I dealt with tendonitis last summer. It really set me back quite a bit.
Jamie Rivera70 said:Those numbers are incredible, especially considering he's only weighing in at about 175 pounds.
OT
Think back to those days when you just couldn't find the motivation to hit the gym. Now, take a look at this:

Man, today was just a total disaster. I thought to myself, "Let's film a set of 5 reps at 230 lbs on the bench and get it up on YouTube." The first attempt—which should have been a perfect 5x230—was a bust because my buddy filming me didn't quite grasp how to actually use a smartphone properly 🙄. Whatever, no big deal, I told myself I'll just try again... But then the next recording got ruined by the guy spotting me, even though I specifically said, "DO NOT TOUCH THE BAR UNLESS MY LIFE IS ACTUALLY IN DANGER!" Seriously, on the fourth rep, he touched the bar even though it was obvious the weight wasn't stalling. Well, anyway, here is the lovely video. Next time, I'm aiming for 5x235 lbs, and on Monday, I'll be posting 5x330 lbs on the deadlift.
