Are we doing the usual thing where we group up like last time? 🙂 For those in the West, meet by the monument at the museum?
Group up if you want, but count me out. I'm traveling. I won't be back until late tonight, but snap some photos so I can see how it went.
Give me a break. This makes zero sense. We’re seeing roundabouts popping up everywhere on our highways lately, and I honestly don't see the issue with navigating one. As long as the road's classification and priority level allow for cycling, then passing through a roundabout should be a given.
William Alvarez35 said:It’s exactly because of this brutal reality that I don't give a damn about traffic signs—though I still make sure I'm not putting anyone in actual danger. Once the "higher-ups" finally get their act together and start actually cracking down on cars, scooters, and delivery vans illegally parked on bike lanes—assuming those lanes were actually continuous and didn't have random concrete barriers blocking the path —then maybe we'll see some actual driving culture develop. Only then will I care about red lights when there isn't a single soul within a mile of me... etc. Until then, just floor it, Miškooooo nesti
You won't see that happening in the USA. Look at what happened to me today: A cop car is parked right in the middle of the street, an officer is standing by the vehicle, and there's another car parked directly in front of him. All of this is sitting in the dedicated right-turn lane. A group is hanging out at a cafe nearby, acting like nothing is happening, while a line of traffic stretches back over 200 meters because nobody can turn right. And nobody cares. What kind of "culture" are we even talking about here?
Totally stupid and stupid. That final scene where the bus pulls up with those ladies. He sends the bus toward some town, and when they start running after it, they don't even get on—they just send it off to the other side. 🤦 😂
I lost it.
Apparently, the original script had them actually getting on the bus, but Jim Carrey pushed for this ending instead.
Arthur Ross said:Ha, they just put in new bathrooms at the office, so now I can actually take a shower.😁 I forgot about that.😁 Work-wise, I'm spending more time driving at lower altitudes. Should be easier on the lungs. Minimal fatigue expected.😁
Uuuu, and you’re still asking? It’s nothing else. Just the bike.👍 Maybe snowshoes, or skis once the snow actually hits. Though you can probably just power through it with some heavy breathing and grit. I’ve hiked through deep powder up near Mount Rainier, so I know what it takes.
Betty Edwards22 said:Yeah, Tax Free is basically a scam. It’s a rigged setup where you can’t even get your full refund in most places because they skim off the top to feed their own parasites.
Do the stores actually carry those labels? If they do, just steer clear and call it a day. 🤷
Gerald Gray64 said:Why?? So I can get my bike cheaper, obviously.😂
You missed my point entirely. I was asking why they don't refund the full sales tax, just a fraction of it. As far as I knew, you should be getting the whole thing back, not just some measly 10%.
Edward Long2 said:I've been riding these for a few days now and I'm satisfied. They handle both the pavement and the trails just fine—assuming the dirt is hard and dry, nothing too muddy.
Tested them out in some light rain too. Honestly? It works, but you have to be careful. If you need to slam on the brakes, things get slick fast. A bit of a drizzle 🙂
Not that I plan on hunting for rain rides. Only if I get caught unexpectedly on my way home from work or something.
Either way, they do the job for what I need. Thanks, everyone.
Anything on two wheels gets sketchy when it rains. 🙄 I've spent enough time sliding around to know that.
Edward Long2 said:Here we go again... I honestly don't get it. I didn't say I couldn't make the ride; I said I'm not interested in riding their way after work. What's the issue? I don't even have a tire yet, and we're already arguing over nothing.
Anyway, I just use my bike to commute to work, plus the occasional weekend ride.
@Justin Gray81/">@@Justin Gray81 - thanks. I won't buy anything until the weather stops acting up.
Don't sweat the comments too much. Just scroll through, see which tires people are recommending, and take it slow. I haven't read everything—which ones are you looking at right now?
Now I see Geax! 😲 Hopefully they beat out the Saguaro.
Dana Reyes5 said:Poor 🙂, huh? Guess you never actually learned how to ride, 🤷 right? 😁
😁 You know I used to be terrified of taking corners fast? No joke. I wiped out hard, like some kid hopping on a bike for the first time at a crowded bus station. Total disaster. 🙄 That’s when I changed my setup. I'm not a fan of Geax. From what I've seen lately, Schwalbe has great grip, sales are booming, and they seem legit. Can't say much about the others. Continental is alright, but I haven't heard anyone raving about Kenda.
EDIT: Yeah, I learned how to ride again. But since then, I take it slower whenever it's wet.
I’ve run some miles on Geax. To be honest, the Saguaro name sounded great, but everything else about it was a letdown. Just for context, I put my bike through absolute hell. My Bontrager AC - X 26 x 2.2 lasted about 3418 miles. It held up decently enough on both pavement and trails. Back then, I grabbed the Geax because I didn't have any other options at the time. Geax: They say all the evil in the world isn't in Pandora's box, it's actually in a Geax tire. Let me be more precise: it’s not a tire, it’s just cheap plastic. I basically had to relearn how to ride. I wiped out three times, shredded my gloves, scraped my legs, and even bent my pedals. I rode it for about 8701 miles, and there was still enough tread left for maybe 1865 miles. But I tossed it and picked up some Continental Gravity instead. After 4351 miles, this one is almost bald. Now *this* is a tire, not a piece of plastic.
That’s my take on Geax. Maybe someone else had a better experience.
Some local caught me off guard yesterday. I was just standing in the entryway, waiting out a downpour for maybe five or seven minutes. Once it let up—well, it didn't really stop, just slowed down enough to move—I headed out. I usually wear a baseball cap to keep the rain from hitting my eyes, and I can't stand those cheap raincoats; they rustle too much and make you sweat like crazy...
Elizabeth Price85 said:I've got a hemorrhoid popping out.😢 It wasn't even caused by hard stools (honestly, I was surprised because I've had regular, soft movements every single day for the last ten days). It’s large, hurts when I walk, and is uncomfortable when sitting.😢 Will it relax, shrink, or just go back inside on its own? What's the best-case scenario here—and what's the absolute worst?
Is this a sign I need to rush to the doctor and deal with it immediately, or is there no reason to panic? (I'm constantly trying to find that line—not overreacting, since I tend to be a bit of a worrier, but also not waiting too long and making a mess of things.)
Someone once told me to drink "leek tea." Basically, you boil leeks in water with nothing else added, then sip the liquid. Okay, that's a lie—you don't really "sip" it, but it's not bad; it just tastes like plain leeks without any seasoning. Obviously, it isn't magic, so it won't vanish the second you swallow it, but the pain seems to dull after a few hours, and by the second or third day, they recede.
I tried it recently, and I feel great now. They're completely gone.

If I don't have an account but I know the serial number by heart, is that going to be an issue? Basically, I can't prove ownership since there's no account to point to...
I can provide the police report too. Unfortunately 😢 I had a run-in with the law, so they logged the number down.
