I’ve got an appointment with an immunologist here in February..
Rib won't even see me; they keep claiming my referral was filed wrong..
Does anyone know which clinics take red referrals for a brain MRI? Thanks!
Sending thanks number two over to Chloe Cooper10 🙂
Honestly, if it wasn't for you two, I definitely wouldn't have figured this out, haha

My excuse this morning was a migraine, but who knows what I'll pull for the rest of the week 😁

No clue... honestly, I have no idea how I even ended up here..
I've just been bouncing from one chat room to another for the last two days and somehow landed right here, haha 😁

👋 Thanks for the invite, Taylor Howard4! 🙂

Will this work for my internet too?

So I've got this Clear system, right? It finds all the errors, but it doesn't actually fix them?
Since the guy isn't responding, I can't even get online to check if there's some other software I could download
.
And honestly, I'm pretty clueless about this stuff...

Thanks for all the tips, everyone. I’m gonna try everything I can...
Hopefully something actually sticks... though with about 400 errors popping up, I'm pretty sure I've got some malware on my hands. 😢

It turns on fine when I reboot.
But the trackpad isn't responding at all...
I ended up plugging in a standard USB mouse
And that works just fine instead...
Except now the keyboard is totally dead too!!!!
We already took it to an authorized service center to get it checked out... So now I'm wondering if it's a bigger issue or if someone just accidentally disabled the keyboard settings?

So does it show my total post count for this thread?
If I wrote 25 myself, will it actually show all 25?
I can't really speak from experience since I didn't have a dad...
If he were still around, he never would've walked away, even if my parents had split up. He was incredibly close to both me and my mom.
He grew up without his own mother, and when his father finally gave him the choice at 18, he chose his mom.
He just wanted to actually build a relationship with her.
My grandfather basically turned his back on him, acting like his own son didn't even exist.
Even when my late father would walk right past him, he'd just nod or say hi, and my granddad would pass by like he was walking past a tree or something.
After my dad passed away, he tried to claim some survivor benefits, but they wouldn't give him anything except disability.
Money is such a curse... apparently, it matters more to some people than blood.😠
Rest in peace to him...
cosmicorca18, for the second half of this, I’ll use my husband as an example...
He also grew up without a father from age 7 to 17.
As a dad, he never once reached out during those years; he’d only call when he was drunk and incoherent, never making a real effort to be there. And before that seventh year, he acted like the kid wasn't even his. Like that old saying goes, "a father is a father," but it's a stretch.
It’s just like that—there's absolutely nothing between them. Just a massive, unbridgeable gap.
If they haven't built a bond from age 17 through all the way to 31, I highly doubt it's ever happening.
Neither side wants to, and neither side is trying.
The father doesn't have a son, and the son doesn't have a father.
And that's just how they live.
The dad has a bottle to keep him company, while my husband has me and our daughter, whom he pours all the attention into—all the stuff he never got from his own old man.
Don't force it.
Don't push.
You might just end up with a boomerang effect.
You can't force a connection, and the tears of disappointment from your daughter...
...aren't worth a single cent of child support.
She won't be able to build a life that's actually healthy and whole without a father figure.
If we can cope with losing fathers who are gone, why shouldn't they be able to deal with those who are physically here but emotionally absent?
All we have is the realization that we can't bring anyone back. For us, the grief is a constant low flame, but for kids with absent parents, it hurts more because the parents are still alive, yet it feels like they aren't there at all.😢

You’re gonna burn halfway through your sanity. If you don't find an alternative, your body is going to start acting up—insomnia, losing focus, and failing at everything you need to get done. It'll wreck your health, especially your nervous system.

Check out the Print Media subforum. That’s where people tear apart headlines and articles from specific newspapers or news sites if that's what you're hunting for. 🤷

That’s exactly what I’m looking for...🙂

But where is this subforum??

I can't find it anywhere..
Can you drop a link?

Can we get a new thread specifically for daily newspapers?
Since we already have subforums for things like television networks, why wouldn't we have one for the daily news (like USA Today or the New York Post)?
There’s so much info flying around in print and on social media that would be perfect for discussion—we could actually dive into specific headlines, articles, news stories, or even columns!

But first, she’ll probably be stuck dealing with tech support trying to figure out why her email isn't showing up. 🙂

We hired auntie and she hired the admins

Now she's just sitting there waiting for that activation link and password to hit her inbox, but nothing's coming...

Could be an issue with the email provider, who knows.🤷

I'm running into a similar headache.
A coworker of mine is locked out completely.

She forgot her password
because she updated it recently.
And when she tries to request a reset via email

nothing shows up in her inbox at all.
So she's stuck outside the forum.

What's the move here?

And obviously, making a duplicate account isn't allowed, right?

Looks like I've got polycystic kidneys too
plus a whole bunch of other issues...
My blood pressure is just all over the place constantly..
I actually ended up in the ER yesterday because I couldn't get it down—it hit 190/120!!!
I never would've guessed it could get that wild, especially since I'm a healthy worker..
I've scheduled a kidney ultrasound, which is my starting point, and then we'll see about a Holter monitor in two months
Lisa Myers said:It’s because everywhere I read, they say you can't just stop. If you do, things could get way worse than they were before (sorry!). Plus, my doctor just told me I'll be on this for life—no explanation provided, and she didn't listen when I explained that my blood pressure is only high when I'm worked up, otherwise it's fine. I assume she thinks my pressure is okay simply because I'm on the pills... but what she doesn't realize is that after my diagnosis, there was a period where I wasn't taking anything because she wasn't working. To explain—I ended up in the ER with terrifyingly high blood pressure after a stressful incident... they immediately put me on 10mg of Amlodipine, which I didn't actually start for another two weeks. In the meantime, my pressure was totally normal. See what I mean? I honestly thought that once I started antihypertensives, my blood pressure would NEVER spike again, no matter how stressed I got. It took me two years and several different doctors to finally hear this: take anxiolytics, but stay on the antihypertensives. I don't get why I need both. My GP also tried to push another antihypertensive on me (before the anxiolytics), but I turned it down without thinking twice. I don't need more meds that don't work.

I’d personally take the beta-blocker I take at noon... and an anxiolytic too. Both help, I can see that. One helps with the heart rate, and the other is there if things get crazy. For me, Amlodipine in the morning does absolutely nothing. Besides, as far as I know, it's harmful during potential pregnancy... so if something unplanned happens, it's more trouble than it's worth.

But I have to admit, I'm close to just stopping it altogether and seeing what happens. At the end of the day, if my blood pressure becomes unstable, I can always start again, right?

Summing it up: please, if you can, explain this to me—why should people who have high blood pressure due to anxiety attacks take antihypertensives when their readings are fine in between? Aren't those drugs meant for people whose pressure is constantly or mostly high even when they aren't stressed and are calm?

In my forty years, nobody has given me a straight answer. Everyone just gives me excuses. I want an answer. Even if someone tells me I'm talking nonsense, just tell me something!

Reading this just makes me even more anxious... what you wrote here...
I've only been on meds for a short time, maybe two months..
but now I'm starting to wonder..
If I want to have kids, there's no way with this blood pressure, plus the risk of kidney disease (which hasn't even been confirmed yet) and these heart arrhythmias/tachycardia issues.

Man, I'm so young..
and I already feel like I'm totally wiped out..
