The preseason anxiety is real in Fans ·
Is it just me, or does the pre-season period always feel way more stressful than the actual games? I'm already stressing about whether our depth can actually hold up once the real schedule hits. Anyone else feeling that pre-camp jitters?

Guys, these people are actually crazier than I am! 😬

Support for importing new emojis... honestly, I don't really care since I barely post anymore, but I remember how much of a pain it was having to hunt down emojis everywhere else. 😳

I’ve always found it pretty weird that this forum doesn't actually involve its own members in certain decisions. 🤔
Take picking a name for the new PDF project, for example. 😳
Now that you've already moved the threads around, the users here actually have an idea of what kind of PDF you're aiming for. They’re going to chime in, and they’ll keep chiming in—so why shouldn't they have a say? I mean... if you guys aren't even sure what to call it yourselves, 😁

just start a thread on that PDF page and ask the community for some help! 😁

I'm not sure if I messed up a setting or if the site just decided to glitch out on its own 😬, but the forum layout has stretched across my entire screen, and honestly, I hate it. How do I get it back to normal so there's actually some white space on the left and right sides? 😁

I finally applied it, wiiii 🙂, this 75x75 size is honestly perfect 🙂
Look, darksailor2, you might be able to go back to using the larger one now, I guess, but if not, well, at least I made this smaller version for you.

Thanks, I even managed to get the big one to work! 😍

But I actually like this one better! image
So I went with that one! 😍 I'll probably get bored of it in a few days and just change it all the time. 🤣

sssnena - hey, can you give me a quote for Papaya? Also looking for Bravo Band's rates. Feel free to DM me if that's easier! thanks 😁

Quick question for everyone: has anyone here ever done a banquet at Aria in San Francisco? It used to be Kokolo. They have a new owner now and have been running since May of last year. They seem pretty solid, but I don't know anyone who has actually eaten there. We're planning a big feast and I just want to know if the food was good, if the manager was decent, all that stuff. please help 🙂 😁

As for the band: right now it's basically a toss-up between Barbara and the major leagues. One is high quality without breaking the bank, while the other is absolute genius but pricey. I've heard great things about Bravo Band, though—just don't know what they charge! 😁

Susan Price30 said:Point one: my photo does NOT belong to this forum. 🤣
Point two: removing posts, edited images, or similar "minor details" from a deleted thread goes against the rules of this board.

Point three: something as harmless as replying to an inactive thread—you know, bumping a topic from years ago—gets moderators treating it like a major rule violation.

So, what exactly falls under point number two?

Look, they might not own the rights, but if you’re the one posting a photo on a forum, you can't suddenly start crying about privacy later—especially when your own post contains a link to some third-party PDF! I don't get what's supposed to be funny about that. 🤷

Look, I agree that it’s rude, ugly, and honestly just plain idiotic, but you can't exactly go around suing someone over it. 🤷 Look, you posted that picture yourself for everyone on this forum to see. Nobody is stopping anyone from saving it and then using it to call you out somewhere else later. That’s just how it works, I guess.
If he just grabbed an image from your Facebook profile and hit paste, then that’s basically a whole different set of posts right there. I guess.

What does that have to do with anything? 😁

I guess we're talking about JPK again. Maybe it's worth looking into. kaže:
Well, there you have it. Google's logo is officially owned by the forum now. Huge congrats to Anderlon!

Congrats to you.

Susan Price30 said:Oh, come on. 😱

If I recall correctly, Dee mentioned back then that the whole topic would be moved or wiped entirely... (I'll definitely double-check with him later.)

*Aside from that, I only deleted one single photo of those three, that's all there is to it. 😉

The thread is still here! It hasn't been deleted from the forum! 😁

I don't know what to tell you. I guess people just want to believe whatever makes them feel better about their own choices. Maybe that's the problem. It’s all just noise at this point. kaže:
Of course there are. She posted that photo under specific privacy settings, which basically means only her friends—the people she actually gave permission to see it—can access it. I mean, why else do you think Facebook statuses don't just show up on Google searches? It's pretty obvious.

I mean, look, I’m all for an open internet and free software in general. But just because something is technically accessible online doesn't mean it belongs to everyone. Ownership matters. It's only "everyone's" if the owner actually allows it. Your Facebook is basically your own digital living room—you should have the right to decide what stays inside and what goes out.

Let's talk about Severina and that video Index posted a few years back. 😁
Severina lost that lawsuit because Index basically filmed someone who wasn't even authorized to distribute that footage to anyone!
Suppose Severina posted that video to her Facebook profile, but she set the privacy settings so only her friends could see it. Would she actually have grounds to sue Index if they went ahead and published the same video themselves? I guess it really comes down to how you look at it, maybe. 😁

Jason Morgan said:Well, you all know how it works—search engines like Google pull stuff right from the archives when you run a query, don't they? Even if the moderators have officially moved a thread into the archives, if you search for something discussed back in, say, 2007, Google will still spit out a text version of that old discussion in some sort of cluttered, messy format. I run into this quite frequently whenever I'm doing a little digging online 😁
.
Grazia, did you actually bother to check whether that thread had already been archived before you decided to post about it here? 🤔

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about this one!
I managed to dig up some old off-topic threads using Google searches! They were deleted a long time ago, but I found them. They're all available for everyone to see now. 😁

So, long story short! I don't think it breaks any rules if someone just takes that xy image he posted on Reddit and copies it over to MK.
If that thread got nuked, but someone saved a screenshot to their hard drive just to go around posting it all over the forum later... I mean, honestly, that’s just low-class behavior. It’s petty. But even then, I don't think it actually breaks any rules. Just like how people's posts don't get deleted just because someone asks, I don't see why images should be any different. Once an image is posted here, it belongs to the forum. That's how it works.
If a mod just ripped an image from a deleted thread and posted it somewhere else—which I guess they can do since they hold all the power—then yeah, they're acting like a total jerk. But honestly? The owner put that picture on the forum themselves. They basically handed over their privacy the moment they hit upload.

Timothy Robinson2 said:Reddit can use it, I guess, but they don't own it. If you post a photo of yourself and they try to sell it for an ad campaign... it doesn't really work like that.

Besides, when some old thread from years ago gets bumped, you usually just get a ban. So, what am I supposed to get when a locked and deleted thread from years back gets revived?

Do you think the owner of Reddit actually has the right to publish a book made of my posts?

Sure, why not? 😁

But if he does, I guess he'll just credit you as Timothy Robinson2 instead of your real name! 😁

p.s. Susan Price30, that thread about legs wasn't deleted! Everyone on the forum can still see it just fine. 😁

Do you seriously think it’s okay to drag up topics from several years ago? And I mean, watch it now—not just things people forgot, but... Deleted. What's on your mind? Any topics?

I guess this is just someone trying to flex their identity or something.

I don't even know why you guys are suddenly jumping on this. 😕

If you go ahead and post a photo of yourself on Reddit, you might as well kiss your privacy goodbye right then and there. I guess it's just common sense. 🤷
So, what, if you post a photo on Reddit, I'm just not allowed to grab it and repost it on some other forum? 😕 Who exactly is defending you right now? Everything you’ve posted on Reddit—just like what Kate Foster12 said—is the property of the site. That includes your profile picture. It doesn't matter which section of the forum you uploaded it to (though I guess PMs are a different story).

Maybe Jason Morgan just phrased things a bit clumsily and ended up including the entire internet in her statement! But look, if some brat is out there posting half-naked selfies on top of a washing machine...🤦She posted it right on her own Facebook profile, so there’s really nothing to complain about. One day, she’ll just have to deal with Google's search engine popping that photo up whenever someone searches her name. 🤷 She posted a photo under her own name and then deleted it, but the picture didn't actually go anywhere. I mean, stuff doesn't just vanish from the internet like that. There are probably thousands of people out there saving copies just waiting for the chance to repost them out of pure spite. And there’s nothing you can do about it legally. Honestly, the same thing applies to Reddit.
I honestly don't get it. What is actually going on here? 😁 🤣

Look, details make the difference. If one cannot perceive the details, one cannot truly see the difference. If I were to begin explaining to you how much it matters to me that the carpet is a certain way, or that I require WMF cutlery, or crystal glassware, or how I care about the fabric of seat covers—how I prefer upholstery that doesn't feel cheap, or how I dislike dry-painted walls, or how much I value that red carpet leading from the hotel entrance to the ballroom, or even how much it matters to me that the person I am negotiating with is someone I can trust... plus excellent food and service... perhaps this sounds trivial to some. However, everything carries its own price and its own clientele. For me, discussing the cost is somewhat questionable because banquet halls and hotels simply aren't comparable. It is akin to comparing a long-sleeved shirt to a tank top. Both are shirts, but there are differences; one uses more material and its execution is more expensive, while the other is cheaper, and that is that. It stands to reason that someone seeking a more formal affair will choose a hotel, whereas someone looking for a budget option will seek out rental halls, and that is all. One cannot simply claim a hotel is expensive; in my view, it isn't expensive considering what it provides.

By the way, the garage isn't at Joker; it's underneath the hotel.

And regarding those pirate-themed parties, I attended an event about three years ago when the generator kicked in and we were without power for an hour or so... the AC was terrible, the room was shaped like an L, and those at the bottom couldn't see a thing happening up front. The floor tiles were wet, which eventually turned into a muddy mess. In my opinion, it was quite poor, but perhaps that is what someone wants and they will happily pay 40 bucks for it. I am not wealthy enough to purchase cheap things. Good luck.

Look, none of that matters to me! What matters is having a clean hall, an awesome band, good food, and solid service. We can drink out of glasses from $2.00, or just drink straight from the bottle for $2.00, and I can always fix the decor myself. That stuff isn't my priority. If it's yours, fine—go for it! 👍

Quincy:
btw the garage isn't at Joker, it's under the Hilton
Gosh, I didn't even say the garage was under Joker 🤣
You said having a closed garage was a plus, so I mentioned that I actually prefer an open one! Then I used the ones at IBM and Joker as examples! 😁

Quincy:
as for Pirate's, I was at a party there when the generator blew and we were without power for like an hour... (this was maybe 3 years ago), the AC was terrible, the room is shaped like an L so people at the bottom can't see anything happening up front, and the floor was so wet it basically turned into a swamp... personally, it was a disaster, but maybe some people want that and will happily drop 40 bucks on it... I'm not rich enough to buy cheap things .........good luck
Don't get patronizing with me now! 😬
I was at Pirate's recently, and there was no wet floor, no swamp, and the AC worked fine. It got hot, sure, but that's what happens when you're dancing on a packed floor! I've been to plenty of summer parties where it gets warm once you start moving. Of course it's going to be hot!
The food there is top-tier and the service is great. My only gripes are the L-shaped layout and the capacity limit. But they have a terrace you can step out onto, a view of the ocean, and a huge parking lot near the dorms... for 42 bucks, it's honestly a steal! 😁
Bradley Jones9 said:Well, look, I suppose it all comes down to personal taste. The Atrium is right in downtown, it's a five-star hotel, they have private parking, and they offer honeymoon suites...
It seems somewhat misguided to compare a hotel to a banquet hall; the differences are fairly obvious, I think.

Hmm... if the hotel were actually in the heart of the city, maybe I'd think differently. I might pay that much for a Ritz-Carlton, maybe, since they have a summer terrace, a pool, and an ocean view—but I wouldn't pay extra just for the view. For me, the food has to be good, the space needs to be decent, and I need a solid band to keep the crowd moving. I went to a party earlier this year that I had high hopes for; it was right by the coast, you could practically jump into the ocean if you wanted... it was a total letdown. A complete disaster. 🤷

A private garage isn't exactly a selling point for me! 😁 I'd rather head to Target than a crowded garage where I feel like I'm suffocating! 🤷

Almost every hotel offers a honeymoon suite anyway. My guy once asked if we wanted to spend our first night after the wedding in some overpriced hotel. But what's the point? I'll be crashing at 6 AM and waking up by 10 AM at the latest because Sunday lunch with the family is non-negotiable. In those four hours, I'm not planning on sipping Champagne or eating caviar or anything else... I'm planning on passing out in bed.

There are pros and cons, but honestly, I think the price at the Atrium is a bit steep. 🤷 I don't know, I hope your wedding turns out beautiful and perfect, and that you and your guests have a great time. Either way, I wish you the best. 😉

wanderingbadger17 said:I suppose you're right regarding the crowd control—subtracting a few people so it doesn't get too tight is probably smart...

I once had 105 guests and there was plenty of room. I don't know how many more we could have squeezed in, but you also have to account for the fact that people will inevitably cancel. It's just a reality that not everyone on the list actually shows up.

Ten people can sit at a table quite comfortably. In my experience, I've seen 11 or 12 squeeze in because they were a tight-knit group, but that's pushing it. Planning for 10 seems reasonable enough.

Regarding the menu, I just posted the menu from that place in Savannah; it's recent info.
I'm fairly certain you won't find a menu like this in the city for $42. Not even close.
A menu like this would probably cost at least twice as much elsewhere.

The problem is, this is already a reduced guest count! I'll invite more, but I'm counting on not having all 230 people show up. That's why I'm saying 200! 😁
Honestly, the Pirate's is a fantastic venue, and the food is incredible... I once had sea bass in Champagne there! 🙂Man, that sounds incredible!
The service is top-notch, the patio is awesome—we could have hung out outside forever! And that chocolate fountain... 🙏
I am just a little worried about it getting too crowded, though. 🤷 I really think we need to see what the ballroom actually looks like with 200 seats. Every venue I've seen that holds 200 people feels way bigger than this!

Oh, one more thing! Is it $42 regardless of what you pick? 🤔
And if there’s food left over, do they pack it up for you to take home?
