Today we basically got the final proof that Red Bull has zero intention of letting Webber fight for the title.

Ricciardo was holding Webber back today and wouldn't let him pass, and honestly, over the last few races, you could see Toro Rosso drivers practically diving off the track the second they spotted him in their mirrors.
It's pretty obvious that Alguersuari's orders don't apply to Webber at all. ☕

that was pretty much set in stone two years ago... 😁
So, here we go—Lewis Hamilton, the guy who’s supposedly a powerhouse 🙏

First, those ridiculous pit stop blunders in the opening races... then in Spain, they basically toss him from pole position straight to the back through no fault of his own... then you have that whole Maldonado-style mess during the final lap in Valencia, that absolute disaster at the start in Spa, and now, today, he loses a gear while leading the pack... damn 🙏
Grace Barnes said:It’s true that within the current driver lineup, there isn't anyone better than Fernando Alonso,
but he really does have an incredible amount of luck on his side. His only real setback this season was when
Romain Grosjean took him out, though Lewis Hamilton suffered the exact same fate then,
and in all the other races, Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel faced much tougher struggles.
As if it wasn't enough that Hamilton had to retire today, now Pastor Maldonado is out too, which saved him from having to fight for 3rd place.
There's no need to list all the mishaps Vettel and Hamilton have dealt with this season; anyone following the sport knows.
You only need to look back at Valencia when Alonso jumped from 5th to 1st.
Vettel was leading until his car pulled aside, Grosjean's car failed, and then Maldonado
knocked both himself and Hamilton out just a few laps before the end. If that race had finished "normally,"
Vettel would be ahead of Alonso in the standings right now. And let's not even mention
last race, where Vettel lost about 10 crucial points due to a mechanical failure.
Kudos to Fernando, but luck can't follow him forever through the rest of the season,
so the title fight will likely stay wide open until the final race...

you know what they say, though—luck is something you have to learn how to trigger...☕

If Fernando Alonso finishes 4th, he should probably just take the win and be happy. He’s clearly slower than Sebastian Vettel and both McLarens, and honestly, the only way he's beating Mark Webber is if things go sideways. What on earth are they doing over at Ferrari? They promised upgrades for the Singapore Grand Prix, yet it seems like their aerodynamic downforce is suffering once again.

Tomorrow, Alonso’s best bet is simply managing damage control while the engineers scramble to actually deliver a legitimate update to the car.

I've got a feeling Alonso is walking away with a podium tomorrow ☕

Man, Pastor Maldonado... I knew it—I just had this gut feeling right at the start of Q3 that things would shake out with him in second place... 🙂

Parts from that Williams car are going to be flying all over the track tomorrow, and as for who ends up being collateral damage... well, we'll just have to see...
Damn, man... just...
smells like team spirit 🙂
Oh boy, did Massa hit the wall this time? 😁
Jason Campbell70 said:Rain, rain, go away... or so they say, though I'd rather just see it happen. 😁

Today's F1 drivers would probably start crying for the race to be red-flagged immediately.

Honestly, nothing would make me happier than seeing today's F1 grid get absolutely roasted and mocked. Something reminiscent of last year's Canada race.

Did it even drizzle once during any part of the previous Singapore GP weekend?

Not during qualifying or the race itself—it stayed dry—though I can't say for sure about the practice sessions...
Jason Campbell70 said:If you listen to our friends over at the BBC, there's a real chance the rain might hit during qualifying, if not the race itself.

Fernando Alonso likes this. 👍

I went ahead and fixed your post for you

It’s probably going to be a fascinating race—given how razor-thin the points gap is right now, plus the fact that I’ve heard WP struggles quite a bit on ovals...

Anyway, looking back at that last race in Baltimore, everything was fine until—good grief—the pace car came out more times than I can count. It honestly drove me a little crazy...

Bourdais mentioned that he’s never experienced a collision quite this violent; apparently, a gearbox from another car tore loose and slammed right into his shoulder. On top of that, the chassis is cracked—it's a total loss.

It’s going to be a massive weekend with a double header: Spa and Baltimore. 🙂

And those commentators, too... they were harping on about that caution flag so many times before the crash, almost like they were just waiting for it to happen.

Man, Americans and their whole way of looking at racing... 🙄

Anyway, I’m secretly hoping WP has a rougher race on the streets of Baltimore than the other contenders this time—just so he doesn't pull too far ahead, you know? It would be much more exciting if the standings stayed tight heading into the final race...

I’m pretty sure that was Hammond, I think

btw, Bourdais really took a hit today—especially that other guy who plowed straight into him

luck seemed to be on Power's side today, which is a far cry from what happened to Castroneves, Dixon, or RHR... especially that last one, who was doing alright until the restart, when that absolute kamikaze just absolutely leveled him

So, I’ll be honest—I don't really follow IndyCar. To be fair, I’ve never actually sat down to watch a full race, except for the Indy 500... but this season is starting to look pretty interesting. It feels like there might be a thrilling finish on the horizon, which honestly feels like the perfect excuse to finally dive in and start following the series properly

If you don't mind, could you put together a schedule for all three races using our local time here in the States?

It was an absolute thrill ride for the Lotus fans—those die-hard Renault loyalists—and the McLaren crowd, though I suppose it wasn't quite as much fun for the Ferrari and Red Bull supporters

Anyway, looking back at the race... Hamilton just had everything under control from start to finish—total composure—and as for the Lotus, their car is clearly capable of winning races, even if we all realized that long before this weekend actually rolled around

Man, I can't stand how people keep calling him that—it’s supposed to be a tribute to Juan Manuel Fangio, you know?

Seriously though... find him a different nickname instead of just stealing "The Maestro" from the legend himself...

mistybear87 said:rain setups definitely still exist, and honestly, today's cars aren't any slower than those from the early 2000s... if you take the same engine power and the same tires, modern cars would actually be even faster in the wet 😉

It's such a shame they never really race in them anymore ☕

I wouldn't bother watching the locals even if they were paying me...

but then again, we have Sky... and the BBC 😍
