Alright, thanks so much. I couldn't seem to track down an existing thread about this, so I figured I'd just go ahead and start one myself, mostly because I was thinking it might actually be pretty useful for some of you other folks out there too...
Hey guys, I was just wondering if there's some kind of way to tweak the settings so I can just set a default color—like a nice dark green, maybe?—for my posts, or am I stuck having to manually click through the color palette every single time I want to type something? 🤷 Honestly, this is my last thread, I promise I won't keep bugging you all! 🤦
I mean, I’ll be honest, I just kind of skimmed through the rules at first because I’d heard those horror stories about people getting burned by accidentally breaking some obscure policy, so I figured I'd better play it safe, but then I actually sat down and gave them a proper read-through a few times, though honestly, most sites have pretty much the same stuff anyway so it’s not like it’s rocket science to memorize 🙂. And you really can't get rid of that. I don't even get the whole logic behind deleting or hiding posts, especially when it comes to hiding them... I mean, if you're posting something on a public forum like Reddit where everyone can see it, why bother trying to hide it? Just follow the guidelines and you'll be fine. Plus, nobody even knows who you are here 😉. I mean, if you were posting under your actual legal name, sure, I might see your point, but it's not like that... Nobody knows your identity.
rowdyscout8 said:Look, I totally get what you're saying, it just feels kind of weird to me that everything is laid out right there where anyone can see it and basically everyone has access to all that info at once. I definitely know what I'm talking about, though, so fine, I'll go ahead and ask them to just wipe that one little thing out. When I'm feeling all scattered...🙄 I honestly had no clue this was even a thing! Thanks for getting back to me.
Well, you didn't actually put your full legal name in there, just your handle, so you could always just make a brand new account and leave this one floating around for whoever wants to make up their own stories about you.😁
I didn't actually have nearly that many posts over on that site, honestly... I think I was sitting at maybe around 500 or 600, definitely not hitting the thousand mark like people say... but hey, whatever works, right?
Alright, so I haven't really run into that specific issue yet, honestly. I was actually posting in those other threads just a second ago and they definitely hadn't "vanished" on me, so you might be totally right about that counter thing being the culprit... thanks for the heads up 🙂
So, I was just checking my profile and I think the forum basically slashed my post count by almost half... 🙂 Like, seriously, why does this even happen??? I know the daily limit isn't exactly the end of the world, but my total post count used to be over 3,100 🙂 and now it’s sitting at barely 3,200 if you count everything... wait, actually, it feels way lower than it should be. Where on earth did they all go, and is there any way to actually fix this mess?
Honestly, it doesn't really matter to me, I mean, if they’re doing a solid job moderating and staying active on the boards, why shouldn't they be a mod? Plus, all that joking around (in a more basic sense) isn't even that big of a deal, stuff like that happens all the time. It’s always super tough to keep your cool when people start messing with you or picking on you just because you're a mod for some totally random, trivial reason. If that's truly your only gripe... then I don't see a problem at all.
feralfalcon81 said:So, what's the deal with picking moderators? What are they actually looking for?
Well, you can find all the specific criteria over in the How to Become a Moderator thread, if you want to dive deep into the rules!
feralfalcon81 said:And hey, does it come with a paycheck or something?
Haha, nope, no cash involved! It's totally unpaid. Usually, someone just steps up from the community because they've become a really standout, helpful presence on a specific subforum.
I’m just gonna hang out and watch since I can't really type anything right now🙂 I'm staying quiet so I don't end up posting something that gets me nuked from orbit🤷 and honestly, even if they do delete it... who cares? One less post, one more to go... A warning is basically just a suggestion anyway, it's not like anyone's actually stopping me😍
Wait, which one??? My current code actually works, but this Python stuff just mashes everything into a single line and ends up deleting the last part of my data 🙂 please, I need some help here! Just tell me which script to use and how it works. I already know I should probably be using the code from Sarah Turner98.
So, how on earth am I supposed to write my Python code across multiple lines without the whole thing just bunching up into one giant, messy single line where everything overflows and looks totally ridiculous? 🙂 Does anyone out there actually know how to handle this 🙂

When I start quoting multiple people from different threads, I tend to lose my place—it gets messy fast. Since my own replies usually end up being a bit long-winded—I almost always find myself quoting several folks at once—it becomes a total headache trying to track who is responding to whom. Guess I’ll just have to do it all manually then... either way, thanks for the help

Frank Booth12 said:Man, you aren't kidding, I see it now! But seriously, why on earth are the arrows gone??😕🤷
Yeah, I see it now, but I seriously don't get why the arrows aren't showing up??😕🤷 Then you've gotta write it out like this: [ Q U O T E =Frank Booth12;43535166][ Q U O T E =tominator;43532850]Something's definitely off because those little arrows that jump you back to the original post[ / Q U O T E ]Yeah, I see it now, but I seriously don't get why the arrows aren't showing up??😕🤷[ / Q U O T E ]
Just leave out the spaces in the quote tags—I only put them in there so the system wouldn't turn them into actual quotes while I was typing, I just wanted them to show up as plain text 😉I hope that's what you were after and that I actually helped, but yeah, you can't just do it in one go; you've got to basically copy and paste them inside each other one by one.
