Overrated sports icons? in Other Sports ·
Raymond Anderson4 said:Is Muhammad Ali overrated?
Sure, there were guys with better stats, but let's be real—with his charisma and how he owned the ring, he’s probably one of the most iconic fighters to ever do it.

He's definitely the most recognizable. Sadly, most people just assume that makes him the greatest. Sugar Ray Robinson was the GOAT. Period. No debate. Too bad half the population hasn't even heard his name.

Are we actually getting this feature back, or is it dead for good? Or maybe I should just be blunt: are you guys done messing with our heads yet?

They've got access. Honestly, it needs to change.

Women's sports are overrated, btw 🙂
Vlašić vs Kostelić in Other Sports ·
"Track and field is a global sport with over 200 member nations, unlike skiing which just isn't on that level," Joško Vlašić told 60 Minutes, adding: "World journalists have been telling me Blanka is the best athlete on the planet. There's zero mention of Ivica in those rankings, not even in Europe or anywhere else, which just proves I was a better coach than Ante back in 2010, plain and simple."

What a total troll this guy is, man. 🤦

Is Mad Max considered Sci-Fi? in Movies ·
Nicholas Chavez70 said:In Mad Max, you won't find any cutting-edge technology (at least, I didn't catch any 🤷), nor will you see high-tech scanners, advanced computers, or futuristic weaponry; if anything, the whole thing leans heavily on vintage muscle cars—which, let’s be honest, guzzle fuel like they have a massive leak in the tank, making every drop of gas worth its weight in gold 🙄. They drive these rugged, custom-built rigs with what feel like ancient, heavy-duty engines and rely on primitive tools like hunting shotguns, crossbows, and the occasional old-school revolver. It paints a picture of a world crawling out from the ashes of an apocalyptic war, where survival means scavenging whatever scraps are left from the ruins of the old world, basically living off the leftovers of a fallen civilization. In fact, Mad Max served as a major inspiration for the legendary Fallout series (anyone who has actually played it knows just how brilliant that franchise is, though Fallout definitely offers a much more intricate narrative than Mad Max does) 👍

That's where the debate should actually happen.🙂

It's a cult classic. Seriously, it's like saying you don't remember Taxi Driver.

🤦

Give me a break. What "SF elements" are we even talking about here? Mad Max has absolutely nothing to do with SF.

Just kill me now.

Can't really recall much about Mad Max since it's been like 6 years since I last saw it (I know, 🤦), but I wouldn't say it isn't SF 🤷

Love these tracks, but most of my buddies didn't even hear them until me and San shared 🤷

Just realized those two songs are actually pretty similar 🤷

A lot of their early stuff is worth a listen (mostly those late '60s and early '70s tracks 😁). Raw Sienna is definitely a must-have ☕

Color can be done, just gotta type it in manually.

Can't type it in manually, everything's grayed out. It won't take it.

but why? Are signatures actually slowing down the site? 🤣

Edward Price6 said:I saw someone mention this movie in a thread and it caught my eye. I searched the forum but couldn't find the discussion, which is weird because the movie is phenomenal.
Honestly, I watched it once and didn't grasp everything. Planning to watch it again and do some digging, but I'm curious to hear what everyone here thinks.
After that first viewing, it feels like certain scenes were intentionally left out so we have to fill in the blanks ourselves. Most of all, I was struck by the chills I got halfway through—that scene where they're being followed by a car. I can't remember the last time a movie gave me that kind of dread and suspense.

Overall, I highly recommend it. It’s a brilliant example of how to pull off a sci-fi concept with a tiny budget, minimal characters, and few locations. I love movies and shows about time travel and shifting perspectives. It's great that you don't know who the good guys or the bad guys are until the end. The non-linear timeline makes it tricky to follow, which might turn some people off, but if you stick with it, it pays off big time. At the very least, you'll want to rewatch it or dive into forums to make sense of it.

For those who've seen it, are there any similar, maybe more obscure films I missed? I thought I'd seen most of the classics in this genre, then suddenly I stumble upon this one from 2004. I'm six years late to the party! 😁

Going to do some thinking and maybe sketch out some diagrams to clear my head. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to the comments. Feel free to spoil.

Most of the ones I can think of are way too mainstream, like Donnie Darko, so you probably already saw those. 🙂
