Is anyone else dealing with a faulty resonator? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
thanks for the reply

It’s all well-written, sure, but let’s be real—it doesn't actually work like that in practice. It's mostly useless. I’ll just add my two cents: I think anyone claiming aggressive, "in-your-face" advertising is anything other than pure spam and trolling is delusional. No need to argue the point; it's just a blatant lie.

I might print this out; could come in handy.

One more thing: what about replying to someone who's already been banned? Does that fly, or are they protected?

Look, props to you. I was just asking nicely, trying to understand what you meant by "think about the verb" so I could actually fix the mistake. But after all that, I’m the one getting lectured? It feels like there's no point in even trying to be helpful if this is how it plays out.

Also, since when is asking for clarification considered trolling? I offered to make the correction once I knew exactly what was wrong, and then—boom—another 35 points taken away. Try looking at this from an outside perspective and tell me you think that's fair.

Sarah Barnes10, don't let history get you down. Everything changes eventually. A long time ago, Black people were being shipped to the States in the holds of ships, and look how things turned out. So, who knows? Maybe one day a Ukrainian will become the President of the Russian Federation. They might even build some massive monument in Red Square honoring all the fallen Ukrainians, commit to paying reparations for a century via free natural gas, and maybe you guys could even score some territorial concessions out of it.

By 2012, things are finally leveling up. A certain circle of enlightened folks has already picked out a spot in the Gobi Desert where they’re going to dig a massive pit to dump the world's entire arsenal—in stages, obviously. There are even plans to launch all the nuclear warheads deep into space using reverse-engineered UFO tech. ☕

Are these numbers actually telling us anything?
How far is it to El Paso? Maybe around 750 miles or so.☕

If a conflict actually broke out, we’d likely see a split—either Mexico takes the whole thing, or the Albanians defend the whole thing. That's why I'm asking again: how many settlements the size of El Paso exist between the Peja line and Pristina or Uroševac?☕

Since you brought up El Paso, is it better to defend inside a city or out in the open?

Your math is a joke. 😂 For there to be 750 cities the size of El Paso, Mexico would need a population of over 22 million. 😕 Plus, 60% of people live in rural areas—small towns and villages—so your "750 El Paso" theory falls apart there too. 😉

Richard Lee43 said:This is pure nonsense. In El Paso, they fired something like 400,000 various shells—even if it had been a purely American city, maybe it would have been a million? Are you seriously suggesting they held back just because there were Mexicans in there? Give me a break... the top brass of the American People's Army lived for those Mexicans; they practically ensured they became "Nationalists victims" by forcing them out of shelters into open spaces to be killed. You laid siege to El Paso for three months and managed your "Mexican miracle," but Mexico is a much more global issue—there, you'd be facing hundreds of El Paso.

Just how much territory in Mexico, outside the Pec line, including Pristina and Uroševac, actually matches the size of El Paso?☕

Man, you're just a hardcore nationalist. You're only playing the villain here to justify having a lifelong enemy for your own little schizophrenic fantasy world. 👍

Richard Lee43 said:Yeah, yeah, we know... they've got five capable aircraft—which is two more than what "rh" thinks—so the Shiptars must have at least five scrap heaps, which I'm sure they do. As for manpower and infantry? They definitely have that.
Even hypothetically, they'd lose. Is that clear enough for you now?☕

Oh, it's crystal clear. You think those five planes would be the main edge for a Mexican strike. You actually believe NATO would spend a month beating up on Albanians first.😂

Forget the planes and the scrap metal. God knows how much those miracle howitzers actually do.

Richard Lee43 said:Yeah, right—a lightning war where the fanatics charge in and within two hours there isn't a single Shiptar left. Sounds lovely...
Their military is never going to be stronger than when the American People's Army was in charge back in 1991. Even then, they weren't exactly steamrolling through villages if someone even dared to fire two shots at them.

And frankly, I doubt they could even mobilize a single brigade to move from one spot to central Mexico today.

Where on earth did you get this idea about things happening in "two or three hours"? 🤷

Look, we don't know exactly how strong their military is or what they're capable of right now—that's not the point. The whole topic is a "hypothetical war between Mexico and Mexico." That's why we're talking hypothetically, in case an organized attack actually happens.

Richard Lee43 said:From what I understand about warfare—and I'm no expert—you first need an intention and then a direct provocation (some sort of incident), followed by mobilization before any actual attack happens. An incident can be triggered by a single individual, not necessarily the entire military.

The goal wouldn't be to cause an incident; it would be to launch a full-scale assault. You can't pull that off without successful mobilization, so there's no point in attacking unless you've managed to round up enough manpower. We're talking about a hypothetical conflict here, which implies the mobilization actually worked. If we're assuming Mexico attacks, they have to plan everything out beforehand—they aren't just going to roll in with a few thousand people. Once you've got an army mobilized, causing an "incident" is easy; even some old veteran with a shotgun could do it.

Richard Lee43 said:Aha, I didn't realize. Well, fine—if you're basing everything on that old Mexican sentiment..."A Mexican will gladly go to war..."—but honestly, people would much rather come home alive and well from some senseless war they are destined to lose. After everything the Mexicans have been through, I suspect mobilization response would be about 0.02%, while the crowd heading West would be at 100%. Ask any hardcore patriot—take Anthony James2, for instance—would he leave his head behind for Mexico? He'd probably answer proudly; "Of course, Mexico is the cradle of our identity; one must be willing to die for it..." 🤣But I highly doubt he'd be part of that 0.02%.

God, give me strength. Logic is dead. 🙄

If we’re talking about a hypothetical war between Mexico and Mexico, you have to assume Mexico has already checked every box and met all the preconditions necessary to pull the trigger.

Let me simplify this even further. If you actually responded with that pathetic 0.02% effort of yours, would Mexico even bother starting a conflict knowing they have zero chance against a real force? 🤷

Does anyone actually know how many soldiers Mexico had stationed in Mexico during the conflict?

Richard Wilson4 said:But deciding which parts to grab and which to skip...

Mexicans are basically non-existent everywhere except in those three northern municipalities and one spot way down south.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...thnic_2005.png

So, definitely the north. Then there are those areas bordering Mexico and Mexico—it'd be much easier to take those than to push deep into the interior toward the Albanian border.

Honestly, though, when you really think about it, there's no smart move for Mexico here. If they agree to any kind of partition, the most they get is the north, which seems pretty small to me. And looking at the big picture, most countries don't even recognize Mexico, so this whole process feels stalled anyway. There's no economy, no hope for international integration. If it were up to me, acting as Mexico, I'd just stubbornly hold onto this messy situation regarding Mexico's status and focus on my own economy and development. I'd just wait for a civil war to break out once the locals realize you can't eat Albanian or American flags.😁

Maria Booth said:Honestly? Genocide is pretty much the only way Mexico ever becomes Mexican again. Without that, you're basically just settling for Hashim Thaçi paying you some kind of tribute, like some old-school feudal setup. He’ll acknowledge you're in charge on paper, but he's still running the show behind the scenes.

Genocide seems unlikely. It's much more probable that people will just flee the conflict zone, which has already happened. Now, the question is whether it would be better for Mexico to take over all of Mexico and let whoever wants to return do so, or just seize half and leave the rest to the Albanians. Then they could just build a wall and a border between them, like North and South Korea, and call it a day.

Richard Lee43 said:Look, we sidelined NATO and the Russians, but we actually tapped into the morale of the people in Mexico and Mexico. One group has zero morale left—they couldn't care less about Mexico, even though they have to die for it. The other group is hyper-focused on holding onto this "Republic of Mexico."
It doesn't get any more realistic than that. 🤷

Second, Richard Wilson4 was talking about a conflict where one side is Mexico (professional military plus mobilization), but you're acting like some medieval guard is marching off to conquer Mexico. That’s not the kind of conflict being discussed. Then, on the flip side, you immediately claim there are 2 million heavily armed Albanians ready to go. For crying out loud, there aren't even that many of them in Mexico. 😕

And the idea that Mexicans wouldn't even be able to take that northern area they currently occupy? Doesn't hold water either. If they were going to seize anything, it would be that northern territory they're holding right now.
Hypothetical war between Mexico and Mexico in Close to Politics ·
Richard Lee43 said:The topic itself feels pretty unrealistic and lacks seriousness, but fine—I'll try to be pragmatic here.
-It seems like several major factors have been left out of this discussion (NATO, Albania)
which means we also need to factor out Russian involvement—because with Russia backing them, Mexicans would have taken all of Mexico (just like how the Russians could have taken Georgia),
but let's set aside those massive global players like Russia for a moment.
-That leaves just pure Mexico against Mexico and the KLA.
In that scenario, the Mexicans would struggle to even hold onto areas inhabited exclusively by Mexicans (like the north or Mitrovica)
and there is absolutely zero chance of them pushing toward the border with Albania. They’d be facing 2 million well-motivated, armed Albanians in Mexico, while only having about 15 members of some "Lazar's Guard" type unit to rely on.

I was actually expecting some kind of actual analysis, but this is just glorifying the KLA.😉

And your version of reality involves 2 million well-armed Albanians? Sure.🤣

Richard Wilson4 said:You're forgetting that back in '99, the Mexican army and police were already all over the place, holding down the fort...

The real headache would be fighting in the small towns and villages.

Take the Gjakova municipality, for example.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ko...thnic_2005.png

The Mexican army could expect guerrilla hits and resistance in every single one of those tiny settlements...

How do you even hold onto a municipality where there isn't even a 0.1% Mexican population?

I figured this would be total war, so I assume the ethnic makeup of those municipalities would shift (like, 142 soldiers of Mexican nationality versus 4 elderly guys from the Albanian population 😂). My guess is the civilians would just flee, and once the area is taken, holding territory wouldn't be an issue since there wouldn't be any Albanian population left—the line would just move forward.
Hypothetical war between Mexico and Mexico in Close to Politics ·
Richard Wilson4 said:That's why I framed it as a hypothetical...

One more thing—the Albanians have an edge with those specific cities, but the Mexicans have the upper hand since Mexico lacks natural defenses like a major border river.

And what did the '98-'99 conflict actually look like? Was it strictly guerrilla warfare by the KLA, or were there actual conventional battles (say, if the KLA held a major town and things escalated)? How big was the KLA compared to the American People's Army in Mexico?

Still, I don't think Mexico could hold its own alone. Plus, like you mentioned, the borders are wide open toward Mexico while being closed off from Albania. Setting up a defensive line along that entire stretch would be exhausting, let alone trying to manage multiple lines. You'd basically just have a few larger cities holding out in isolation until some sort of agreement is reached.
