I look at him strictly as an actor, and he was truly talented and brilliant here—the film definitely lost a lot without him! As for his private life, I couldn't care less; for all I know, he could have been a drug-addicted queer rolling in filth! Let the moralists worry about that stuff when they have nothing better to do!
I sometimes worry that we're losing our edge as a culture; I guess we might need to lower our standards to an American level just to find anything "creepy" or scary at all! It feels like such a waste of talent when you have such high-quality, famous actors involved. I managed to sit through about 50 minutes before I had to stop... it was a struggle. The forced "scary" atmosphere really bothered me—there wasn't even a single decent lightbulb used in the sets, just this woman in white wandering around aimlessly. It felt dull and predictable, almost like an overambitious high school project trying to pass a class. It seems like the whole genre has gone downhill lately if it relies on cheap tricks from stuff like The Conjuring, Insidious: Chapter 2, or Paranormal Activity—basically just trying to sell a quick story with zero budget and no soul.
This movie is absolute garbage. Honestly, after sitting through this much mindless, overblown nonsense, I feel like I need to grab some high-end protein powder, download the entire Steven Seagal collection (which, let’s be real, includes much better stuff than this), take a moment to clear my head, and just sing the Star-Spangled Banner. This kind of bloated, recycled junk really ought to be banned by law.
It seems like Americans try to mock their own terrible movies by releasing those awful "comedies." Honestly, just skip them entirely; there's really no point in engaging with such nonsense...
As much as it feels almost tragicomic to mention that hack Ashton Kutcher as an actor, I honestly think this might be his best "role" ever! Let’s be real, he’s just a bit of a loser with zero acting range, but he actually managed to play being a bad actor better than anyone else here. The movie itself is decent enough if you don't focus too much on Ashton Kutcher, especially since there's a solid supporting cast to lean on!
Ugh, I need to write this down just so I don't end up shouting out my window: what an absolute disaster of a movie! Honestly, given that Smith is usually such a staple for big blockbusters and M. Night is someone you'd actually expect to see something watchable from, this was a massive letdown. It felt like the whole thing was just: Will Smith: "Hey M., I've got this idea and some cash to make it happen, you want to direct?" and then basically just using his kid to act while he sits in a chair for most of the runtime. It turned out terribly—from the awkward facial expressions of the kids and the sloppy script to a messy plot, and even the CGI was so bad it was almost funny. It honestly reminded me of some old Discovery Channel or National Geographic documentaries from over a decade ago. My advice? Just sleep on it and forget it ever happened!
Just one of those little treats to serve as a nice escape from everything happening in America! It’s a tight, mostly tense thriller that occasionally reminds me of those French Melville-style crime flicks from the 60s and 70s. The pacing is solid, the ending feels well-thought-out, and of course, we have a badass Jaime Lannister who fits into the cast quite seamlessly. I'd say it's a warm recommendation!
Just more pro-American cowboy propaganda, I guess. Is it election season already? Or maybe they're just trying to paint us as this invincible, righteous nation standing against all the world's evil and terrorism.
Good grief, what are we even looking at here? Just a mediocre, totally uninspired singer. I really wouldn't waste any money on this kind of desperate, bottom-of-the-barrel pop music!
The first one is such a great, fun horror flick, whereas the fifth one is just straight-up hilarious. It’s not really scary at all, but maybe that was actually the point! You've got a doll with a pretty ambiguous sexuality (lol) and then Chucky's female counterpart showing off her literal plastic breasts—hehe! It’s a fantastic comedy!
Honestly, since I could never picture little Shia LaBeouf in this kind of role, I was pleasantly surprised by this movie! It’s really good. I feel like Guy Pearce has been on quite a roll lately—he seems to be in everything these days—but regardless, he does a great job here!
It’s a decent concept, but I think the casting was just a poor choice! (At times, it feels almost tragicomic how much people struggle with bad acting or just plain terrible scripts.) Such a shame...
I mean, who is actually watching this? I suppose just kids who love Justin and play with Barbies! Honestly, kids might end up getting a bit silly from all that!!!
The movie is watchable, though I wouldn't call it great. I suspect it might have turned out much better if it had been handled by a more dedicated director rather than someone who just churns out a few projects a year. The protagonist seems fine, and the lead actor is someone I recognize and find quite likable. There are a couple of underwhelming scenes toward the end, but that’s about it. It's worth a watch if you really need something to do, but otherwise, it might be a better time to just stay in and get some meal prepping done for the week!
btw, I usually grab about 99% of my movies from The Pirate Bay.☕
