I am utterly perplexed by the lack of consistency in medical protocols lately. Why is it that some doctors insist on irrigating the nasal passages with saline solutions following a procedure, while others—take John Doe, for instance—prefer to manually clear away the scabs that form inside the nose during follow-up visits? Which approach is actually the correct one? Can a simple saline spray like Aquamaris truly serve as a substitute for the hands-on, mechanical cleaning performed by a specialized expert? I would love to hear your experiences. What have you all used, and more importantly, what actually worked for you? Thanks! 🙂

Sure, John Doe says to clean out your nose, but he’s also out here recommending you syringe saline solution up your nostrils several times a day. So, what? You just inject the liquid and then blow your nose? How exactly is that supposed to work?

I wouldn't dream of shoving anything up my nose unless it was strictly physiological. To me, that seems like the only healthy way to go about it.
wanderingnomad13 said:Hi everyone, since this is actually my very first post on here!! 😉

Does anyone happen to know who performed the surgery on jelen Glišić and Miu Franić?

I have no idea.

But honestly, if I had any say in the matter, I would personally see to it that whoever took the stunningly beautiful Mie Franić and turned her into some pornographic caricature with a tiny piglet nose and massive lips would have their medical license revoked immediately.😁
analogbison15 said:How can you say there isn't one? You can get it from John Smith for about $750.

Aha! 🤣

Someone clearly played you for a fool. If you aren't looking at something under $1,500, you aren't finding anything worth mentioning.😁
analogbison15 said:Has anyone here actually gone under the knife with Dr. Branko Glušac, M.D.?

If you ask me, his work on noses is absolutely top-tier.
Elizabeth Davis said:I am genuinely curious about how much pain one actually deals with after nose surgery, and just how long those bruises typically hang around—I realize it’s different for everyone, obviously—but also, how long does it take before my nose starts looking somewhat normal again? I want to know when I can actually start showing my face in public without causing everyone to faint from shock😁?

Personally, I didn't feel a single ounce of pain following my procedure. Absolutely nothing. I didn't even bother taking a single painkiller.
The bruising lasted about seven days. It wasn't nearly as bad as I feared; they were dark blue for the first couple of days, then transitioned to green and finally yellow. I was bracing myself for a total nightmare.
Once they take the splint off, you can pretty much head out into the world. So, after about 7 or 8 days, you're good to go. Your nose might still look a bit swollen, but honestly, nobody is going to notice it except for you.
Amanda Lewis66 said:Aesthetic work can be done for free at the hospital too. Sure, it doesn't happen every single time, but honestly, those patients were the ones asking if they could get a little "touch-up" on their noses. Nobody was bribing anyone, and nobody received surgery through some shady connection.
That is a complete fabrication. Get a grip.

Sure, it happens, but let’s be real—it’s incredibly rare. It is much more the exception than the rule, yet by posting this, you are essentially leading people down a dangerous path, implying that if they just have some tiny functional issue, the hospital will suddenly decide to fix their entire aesthetic look for nothing. We are talking about procedures that cost $10,000$0.00 or even more.

You can think what you want, but they aren't going to operate on every single functional glitch, let alone provide free cosmetic enhancements.
Amanda Lewis66 said:Sam Kim12, seriously, take a breath. What's with the temper tantrum?

Don't get so aggressive that you start spinning half-truths; I was actually there visiting, and I personally heard about a dozen people who had their ear surgeries being offered cosmetic enhancements on the spot.

Well, she’s got a point. Most of what you wrote was just nonsense.

For God's sake.😁

I honestly think it would be best if people stuck to describing their own actual experiences instead of spreading this kind of hearsay bullshit.
Kate Taylor59 said:I chose to trust my gut instead of listening to everyone on this forum... and honestly, I am just beyond thrilled with my doctor!!!!

Well, I followed my intuition too, and everything turned out absolutely wonderful! That earplug was genuinely fantastic and did its job perfectly.
rowdyfalcon35 said:I sent you the photos, so please, judge for yourself. I am absolutely not the type of person to make a mountain out of a molehill; quite the contrary, actually. In fact, I could have even made peace with the aesthetic if that were the only issue, where appearance was secondary to function—but the function hasn't been resolved at all! It’s in an even worse state now, and the appearance is only deteriorating with time. So much was done without my consent, acting on their own whims, and so much was conveniently swept under the rug, which is completely unacceptable treatment of a patient. Amen.

I saw the pictures. You aren't making a mountain out of a molehill; they simply did a terrible job. What on earth were they thinking?🙂

It breaks my heart to see what you're going through.😢
restlessfox3 said:Oh, please, stop trying to be so wise about this...
I was massaging it constantly, and then the skin just stuck together...
I didn't even realize it had adhered until he pointed it out to me, so I told him I'd try massaging it using a different technique to get it to release... And apparently, that’s perfectly normal since the nose is still weeping... That kind of thing happens...

So, since it didn't happen to you, I have no idea why you're writing such a massive rant...

Me, writing a "massive rant"? I literally wrote two sentences.😕

Forgive me, I truly meant no harm. I simply assumed you hadn't been massaging your nose at all, which is why the skin stuck together. Besides, some doctors don't even recommend massaging it in the first place.

In general, I think some people really do go overboard and hold onto these totally unrealistic expectations. I know so many people who throw absolute tantrums claiming their nose is a total disaster just because one nostril is a millimeter wider than the other or something similar.

I'm not saying that's the case with redlady. Unfortunately, it would be better if it were. But I'd love to actually see a photo so I could judge for myself whether it's truly as horrific as everyone claims.
restlessfox3 said:Has anyone here dealt with skin sticking to their nose after surgery?
Will massaging the skin actually help it detach?

Well, did your surgeon even bother explaining how you're supposed to massage your nose?

I can't recall every single detail anymore, but I know for a fact that my doctor gave me specific instructions on how to perform the massage, and I was told to do it several times a day—quite aggressively, even to the point of discomfort. That is exactly what I did, and let me tell you, my skin never stuck at all; that is precisely why those massages are prescribed in the first place!
Rebecca Gomez37 said:Hahaha, then they were probably just some war profiteer who wasn't busy running retail chains, but instead was managing a private medical practice. Sadly, doctors were more essential than ever during the war, but hey, I guess everyone chooses their own path.
This is officially my final word on the "coffee" thread!

Good grief, 🤦
she was actually in the service during the war. Just Google it. Though honestly, it doesn't even matter.

It is absolutely appalling how some people allow themselves to behave this way.
Rebecca Gomez37 said:You are honestly being ridiculous with a comment like that... we all know exactly how much doctors make—especially plastic surgeons, particularly those running private practices. It wasn't as if he desperately needed to spend a little afternoon masterfully sipping coffee and relaxing.

Those ninety-dollar amounts were from the war years and the immediate aftermath. Have you completely forgotten that?

And even then, things weren't exactly booming in Makarska. Everyone was just doing whatever they could to survive. Honestly, I can't believe I even have to explain this to you. 🤦

Yes, your comment is incredibly stupid and frankly tasteless. It’s so egregious that I feel compelled to reiterate once again that I am practically being left out in the cold here. Dr. Glusac, specifically. 😁

It is an absolute catastrophe how certain things are constantly being dragged out against specific individuals. Like I said before, what's next on the agenda?
restlesssurfer11 said:I believe I made myself perfectly clear in my previous post, and frankly, I have absolutely no intention of wasting any more of my precious energy debating his little coffee sales pitch.
The only thing that actually matters here is that he is an utter failure who simply refuses to admit it!

Oh, please! So, you just don't feel like wasting your energy now that you've already fixated on his coffee? How incredibly convenient—as if that somehow negates the massive, glaring issue of pointing out the doctor's sheer incompetence and tearing him to shreds. Give me a break.
restlesssurfer11 said:I honestly have no idea why you jumped to the conclusion that someone is a subpar doctor just because they were selling coffee! I’m not saying he’s either good or bad based on that; rather, I find it baffling why anyone would even bother nitpicking what someone does outside of their primary profession. If anything, I think he’s a highly capable entrepreneur, and I certainly never claimed his medical skills were lacking.

Oh, so *you're* the one who's confused? Since when do you need to be more enlightened about someone else's private business than they are themselves? Give me a break.
I still don't see any issue with the fact that a doctor might take on side gigs—whether that's writing a column for Playboy, selling coffee, or whatever else. That is entirely his business.

I work at a school, and I have other interests and ventures on the side too. Does that somehow make me a worse teacher? Of course not. It's the exact same thing.

Look, okay, the surgery failed; his nose is messed up. But digging up what he was doing back in the 90s is absolutely absurd. What’s next? Are we going to investigate who he sleeps with or what he eats for lunch?
rowdyfalcon35, you really need to stand up for yourself. Tell him straight to his face that you’ll go public with all those 👍
.
These comments claiming he’s a bad doctor because he used to sell coffee—honestly, I can't even bring myself to respond to how incredibly stupid and tasteless that is.
I am waiting for the content you wish for me to rewrite. Please provide the posts from **restlesssurfer11** so that I may begin the process of transforming them into unique, high-quality American English prose while maintaining that specific, heated, and formal persona. The user says:
What truly irritates me about Glusac is this infuriating tendency to give everyone the exact same canned response—sending every single person toward the same tests and suggesting the same identical solutions. I simply cannot wrap my head around it. For heaven's sake, there isn't some universal "one-size-fits-all" manual for nasal issues! We are all unique individuals with our own specific symptoms, distinct struggles, and, ultimately, our own unique goals for recovery. Why act like we're all clones?🤷

What on earth does she mean by "everyone"? She didn't exactly tell me that my sinuses were acting up, nor did she suggest I get them recorded. She did exactly what I asked her to do!

It feels absolutely ridiculous that I now come across as if I’m defending him. I am simply attempting to remain objective! Just as certain people feel entitled to draw sweeping, universal conclusions based solely on their own negative experiences—which is certainly their prerogative—I am equally entitled to offer my highest praise for Glusac based on my own personal journey. It has been three years since my surgery, and quite frankly, I find it impossible to believe that anything regarding my nose could possibly change for the worse at this stage.
swiftheron55 said:But your example is just catastrophic—try using a little imagination, will you?
I actually scheduled surgery with him, and honestly, if I could cancel right now, I would.
It’s horrifying.🙂

Look, please don't panic. There are plenty of people out there who end up with a perfect nose thanks to him. You have to approach this with some perspective, because let's be real: there isn't a single surgeon in the country who hasn't messed up someone's nose at some point. Besides, as blunt as it sounds, just because he botched her procedure doesn't mean he's going to ruin yours. If anything, he’ll likely be extra cautious to ensure he doesn't make the same mistake twice.🤷

Personally, I would absolutely love to see the disaster Dr. Borić did to her.
rowdyfalcon35 said:and mine too

Well, there you have it—my own experience was absolutely wonderful! Honestly, I would recommend Glusac to anyone without hesitation. He handled every single detail just as she described, and he did an absolutely stellar job.
I am still waiting for some actual substance from this group! It seems like every time I check back, we are just circling the drain with the same useless chatter. Honestly, how can anyone expect to find any real answers when everyone is just shouting into the void? It’s absolutely maddening! As stated by:
I am truly pleased to hear that you had a positive experience, and in principle, one ought to prioritize a professional's expertise over their personal character. However, I find myself utterly unable to grant him even the slightest opportunity to prove his competence as an expert, especially in light of the wave of scathing reviews appearing on this forum lately. To be perfectly honest, my initial impression of him was unfavorable from the very beginning, which led me to specifically seek out negative feedback to validate my suspicions. One simply must trust their gut instinct, no matter how one chooses to look at it!🙄

Of course, everyone is free to choose the doctor that best suits their needs—after all, we are the ones footing the bill!
As far as the criticism goes, let’s be honest: there isn't a single doctor on this entire thread who hasn't absolutely trashed someone else's reputation. It's a total minefield. All you can really do is pray to God that you aren't the next unlucky soul caught in their crosshairs.
