I disagree entirely; calling this a failure is a complete mischaracterization. We have forty different schools requesting permission from their founders, and seventeen have already officially filed their applications. If you ask me, that’s actually quite an impressive turnout, especially considering everyone was sitting on their hands waiting for the public comment period to wrap up. Now that the deadline has been extended, things are finally moving.

We already have all our parental consents, vaccinations, and physician clearances squared away, yet we haven't even submitted our paperwork yet. We’ll just handle it on the very last day. The only holdout is our principal, who isn't exactly enthusiastic—it's much easier for him to just sit back and do nothing—but frankly, his opinion isn't what matters here.😁

It is quite frankly infuriating that there wasn't even a single gathering regarding CDS held in Miami 😬

In all seriousness, the concept of full-day schooling has been a recurring theme in every single education strategy and policy document floating around since 2008. It doesn't matter if you're looking at Republican platforms or Democratic ones; the goal remains the same. Yet, somehow, Fuchs is the only one with the "good fortune" of actually having the budget to make it happen.

If Divjak were the one running the show right now, we’d already have this program implemented in every single school by the ninth month of the year, regardless of the circumstances. Honestly, who could even criticize her? She forced computer science into every elementary school curriculum with more authority than any elective subject has ever seen—mandating it for every grade level simultaneously and forcing every single school to offer it.

1. And who exactly is claiming that absolutely nothing in the Congress proposal is any good? We had 1,000 people participate in the public consultation out of 60,000 total in the education sector. Out of 3,000 comments, 80% just say the Congress plan is "bland" or "I won't do it"—what kind of actual argument is that? It's completely worthless.

2. Then there’s the claim that they want to work only 4 hours a day because otherwise they won't have time for a private life. That is also a pathetic excuse. If you want that much free time, you might as well not work at all so you can have time for everything.

3. Or the idea that kids will be stuck in school all day. Kids are already in school until 2 or 3 PM without even getting lunch, so that argument is equally nonsense.

4. "Parents will complain about this and that..." Please. Most parents actually benefit from this setup, so that's just another useless complaint.

5. "Teachers will quit en masse." Oh, really? I see. Maybe if you're living in New York City you can afford to be picky about your job, but in the rest of the country, you can't—and education is still an area where people pull rank just to get their foot in the door.

6. There will be plenty of unqualified teachers because there are plenty right now. Honestly, in the Los Angeles area, everyone is highly qualified except for the physics teachers. Even in the most remote areas. Believe me, I worked there for years.

By the way, I am a linguist myself. Greetings, 🙂

Times have changed, and we need to accept that. We aren't going to work 20 hours a week in schools anymore. We aren't going to be paid the exact same amount, whether someone teaches 16 hours or 22 hours. Those who work more should earn more. Period. That's just how it works. What we ought to be doing is pointing out specific organizational details that need changing rather than just screaming "I won't do it!" like a bunch of whiners.

Besides, this is just a pilot program for 50 schools; it isn't the final version of the Congress plan that will be rolled out to every school nationwide in four years.

Sarah Hall53 said:Yeah, this is honestly the peak of it all. They actually took out a massive LOAN just to fund this whole circus—we're talking $27 million that they’ll be stuck paying off until 2058.

That loan is just a tiny fraction of the total budget earmarked for this project. The rest was pulled from various European Union funds via grants meant for educational equalization. The total secured figure is roughly $1.3 billion.

Listen, people, this isn't going away, and it certainly isn't disappearing overnight. We have to accept that the traditional elementary school model is changing, and the way salaries are calculated is shifting as well. What we really need to do is focus on iron out the contentious details.

As for the opinion that the local school board is useless? Honestly, such views are shallow and contribute nothing to the conversation.

Paul Davis2 said:The sixth period—if you count both small and large breaks—not to mention pre-periods and post-periods. Then there's tutoring, extra credit, and electives. It’s morning, it’s afternoon, and usually without access to a gym or even a free hot meal.
Let's get real here: kids today are basically living at school. They deal with rotating shifts and the obligation to show up for the opposite session whenever the schedule flips.

I couldn't agree more. I honestly don't understand this constant exaggeration and unnecessary drama. Students currently on the morning shift are stuck in school every single day from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM without a proper lunch or any significant breaks beyond a measly 15-minute recess. Teachers don't have the bandwidth to manage extra tutoring or after-school programs either, so we just coordinate and swap schedules ourselves (for instance, if students have six periods one day, we shuffle the seventh period around). This way is actually better for both the kids and us.

As for the public consultation process, I was expecting much higher engagement. Out of 60,000 people working in the American education system—including 30,000 in elementary schools—we barely saw 2,000 responses. And when you take a closer look, it’s mostly the same handful of people submitting multiple entries, which means probably fewer than 1,000 unique individuals actually participated. It's the same old story: a loud minority makes all the noise while the silent majority just accepts things as they are.

My school is going to sign up for this. We are all in complete agreement on the move. Sure, a few teachers were grumbling because they won't be wrapping things up by 10:30 anymore, and the specialists are worried about the increased workload within the A2 and B1 curricula. There’s a bit of a shift happening in how subjects are taught—we’ve always operated on a single-shift schedule—and the students will have to adjust since their electives used to be baked right into the regular timetable. The silver lining? They’ll actually get longer breaks and a decent lunch period.

Anyway, don't go judging the situation based on fifty loud voices shouting in Facebook groups. Plenty of smaller schools that currently run on a single shift are going to step up and join in too.

I am not claiming that everything is perfectly designed; there will undoubtedly be growing pains. But that is exactly why we have an experimental phase—to identify what isn't working and fix it.

As for STEM, specifically math, biology, and chemistry, we've never really seen a shortage of talent in the Greater Los Angeles area. The only real gap has been in physics.
And just how old are you, exactly?
driftingmason4 said:Hey everyone, I have a few questions regarding nose surgery.
I’ve finally made up my mind that I want to go through with it because the hump on my nose really bothers me. I am looking for recommendations for private clinics, and what is weighing on my mind most of all is that incision above the upper lip. I saw that they do that when using the closed technique... I’m wondering if they always have to make that cut inside the lip, regardless of the situation? Also, is four weeks after the operation enough time to get back to my responsibilities like college, work, and everything else?

I underwent the closed technique myself, and they didn't make any incision above my upper lip at all. Honestly, I wouldn't have allowed it even if they tried, nor can I see any reason why such a thing would be necessary.

Four weeks should be more than enough time to recover properly.
analogotter43 said:I appreciate that. Honestly, that doctor sounds almost too good to be true 😁

My own experience with him has been nothing short of excellent, though I recognize there are certainly those who haven't had the same luck—but then again, that's the reality with any specialist dealing with this subject matter.

If you want my advice, just listen to your gut.
analogotter43 said:I have finally managed to schedule an appointment with Dr. Glušac, and I am truly crossing my fingers that I will end up being one of those satisfied patients among you 🙂 Once the surgery actually happens, I will be sure to write up a detailed account of everything.

Since the doctor and I simply could not find a decent time to connect via telephone—partly due to my work schedule and partly due to his own busy practice—we ended up arranging the consultation through email. Even though I specifically inquired about his consultation fees, he didn't provide an answer; therefore, I am turning to all of you who have already sat in his office for a consultation, please, I beg of you, help me out with some concrete information 🙂 Thank you.

He doesn't charge for consultations.

Nor does he charge for any follow-up exams after the surgery.

Seriously, can you imagine how nightmareish it must be to work in a place where teachers are actually treated with respect?

What a bunch of backward primitives. Absolutely disgusting.

crimsongull20 said:Tell him again once, maybe he'll get the hint. But if you keep saying it a third, fifth, or tenth time, don't be shocked when some parent shows up at the principal's office over it.

Not a chance.
Thank God I'm not working in an environment where parents raise their kids to be absolute morons and then proceed to wrap them in bubble wrap.

In fact, if I ever dared to mention to a parent that their kid was acting like a complete idiot during math class, they wouldn't ask how to fix the behavior—they'd just demand to know why I wasn't giving the kid two slaps across the face instead.

Reading all this makes me feel incredibly blessed 😁

crimsongull20 said:Sure, you can ask your own kid, "Are you playing dumb?" Or maybe throw it at a student during an informal field trip... but saying that in a classroom isn't exactly professional communication.

Well, oops. I actually told a student just a few days ago that they were acting stupid.
The truth is, they really *were* playing dumb, and they were doing it specifically to entertain the rest of the class.

Apparently, I should have just asked for my walking papers right then and there.
lonehawk8 said:How long did you have to stay in the ward after your surgery? I am going to insist on local sedation at all costs, no matter what the anesthesiologist advises me.

I had my rhinoplasty done privately, so I wasn't even admitted to the hospital; I was back home within two hours.

My honest advice to you? For heaven's sake, just listen to the anesthesiologist!
Melissa Hernandez97 said:Team, I need some help because I am completely lost here. I have my surgery scheduled for a septum deviation repair in three months, and I’m trying to get ahead of everything. The paperwork says I need to go to my primary care physician for blood work and urine tests, but the section regarding the anesthesiologist is totally confusing me—it states I need a consultation 15 days before the procedure. Do I actually need to show up there in person with all the results from my doctor, especially since nobody is returning my calls at the number provided on the paperwork? Also, if anyone here is from Miami, could you tell me where exactly the anesthesia clinic is located over at the main hospital? And do I need to physically go there just to sign up for the consultation?🙂

The anesthesia clinic is located right on the ground floor, so getting there is incredibly easy.

Regarding the choice between local and general anesthesia, well, if you’re asking me, I would personally opt for general anesthesia every single time. I’ve actually undergone surgery under general myself, and in my experience, it’s the only way to go.
My initial consultation with the surgeon who is performing my rhinoplasty took place at a local outpatient clinic under local anesthesia.

Then I actually met the anesthesiologist who told me that performing nose surgery under local anesthesia was a total non-starter—no way!😁

Austin Harris8 said:I’m not being annoying. 🤷

This isn't just about my specific topic; there are plenty of examples where evidence is clearly laid out, yet it gets completely ignored or dismissed. Every single time a similar thread pops up, people link back to previous posts as proof, and most of the time, those points are shot down through some quick procedural maneuver and closed out.
Even when a user filing a complaint is clearly in the right, the administration often resorts to rationalization. Knowing their decision isn't actually fair, they start hunting for excuses to justify their biased treatment of the user—essentially acting like "the user is always wrong," which is nothing new given how the admin team at PŽK has been operating lately 🤷—just to spin their own arbitrary behavior into something looking legitimate.

It's a shame. I used to stay away from PŽK entirely; wherever else I participated in discussions, I never had issues. Then the stuff with ŽK starts. I come over to PŽK, see that ŽK is the most talked-about thing here, and I think, well, that explains a lot. 🤷

P.S. You aren't exactly the gold standard for moderators either. I also post on the Soccer forum where you're a mod, and I see how much chat and off-topic nonsense is allowed (regularly permitted for the same group of troublemakers), yet that same leeway is granted to some and denied to others. At least you, as a mod over there, shouldn't be so loud about shoving this administrative-moderator brand of "justice" down users' throats. 🤷

P.P.S. I'm predicting this thread will be shut down shortly. Yeah, for the exact same reasons the "Questions" threads were closed. If you want to know why—why a thread meant strictly for technical questions directed at the admins often turns into a vent for personal grievances—it might be due to administrative oversight. It could be the result of accumulated frustration from users whose complaints are being ignored, causing them to voice their problems everywhere on PŽK, including the question for administration section. Though, I doubt that's the case. After all, the admins and mods are always right. Or maybe it's some kind of conspiracy against the administration. Who knows.

🤣

You are.

You relentlessly force your way into every single thread on PŽK instead of just sitting tight for a few months and requesting a partial refund, which is clearly what would suit you best.

It is truly a pity you don't grasp that, but you are the absolute last person who should be complaining about anything to rustydrifter10. The very last.
Because, if any other administration were in charge, you would have been banned ages ago. And that is not even mentioning your threats regarding the abuse department.

Just stop it already. For heaven's sake.

In any case, the idea behind a question for administration is actually quite brilliant in theory, but in practice, it obviously fails because there is far too much chatting and spamming allowed. But really, is that such an impossible problem to solve?

Alex Watson said:You’ve got the wrong guy.

Out of nowhere, Miror started bringing up godparent stuff...

That simply isn't true.

The whole "godparent" nonsense has actually started bleeding into discussions regarding the moderators close to this administration—specifically Nica.

It was an incredibly low blow and completely unprofessional on their part, especially considering that Miror is quite possibly the last person on this entire site you could ever accuse of letting private friendships dictate their moderation style.😵

I won't let them pin this on Miror. 🙂
Partial payment on Zillow in Feedback & Suggestions ·
A partial ban was entirely justified here.

I honestly don't understand why everyone is acting so shocked or playing the victim right now. This guy systematically violates every single thread on this chicken coop with his relentless trolling and endless, circular arguments. He’s been warned countless times, yet nothing changes—except now he’s actually resorted to insults. I fail to see any other recourse besides handing out a partial ban.

And this whole "playing the victim" routine because he’s a man, combined with the claim that men aren't welcome on Zillow, is just tragicomic nonsense. It’s frankly idiotic and deserves a massive 🤦

My doctor told me that any saline solution would work—Aquamaris, Sterimar... which one has actually proven to be the best for you all??
Thanks again

Well, why on earth don't you just use standard saline solution?

It's much healthier and significantly cheaper.
