He acts like he’s the absolute authority on everything—he knows it all, he’s the best, blah blah blah... Honestly, he spent an entire hour just talking about himself; it was absolutely exhausting! Needless to say, I’ve officially crossed him off my list, and I think Tony is my next stop. He kept bringing up my sinuses too, acting completely convinced there's an issue, as if nobody else's opinion matters because he thinks he’s God! I truly have nothing but respect for anyone who actually decides to pick him after undergoing such a mental lobotomy.

🤣🤣

Yes, that is the truth. Gusac certainly isn't for everyone. 😁
As for me, I chose him—I made my decision after just five minutes of talking to him. For me, what mattered most was finding someone approachable, someone I felt comfortable around so I could speak freely, vent, talk nonsense, or even swear if I needed to. And honestly? He does a fantastic job. I don't regret my choice for one single second. 🙏

is a total steal
if you don't have transportation, he'll literally send his own driver to pick you up.
If you stay at the Biokovo Hotel, you'll get a discount of nearly 10% if you book through them.
Plus, if you're traveling from further away, you can just head straight to him for a consultation upon arrival; he'll let you rest all afternoon and then perform the surgery in the evening.
All things considered, making the trip to Makarska is absolutely worth the investment.

Exactly, he goes out of his way to make sure your travel is seamless. In my case, his own anesthesiologist drove me all the way from San Francisco to Makarska and back!
swiftheron55 said:haha, I'll survive😉but honestly, I am freaking out right now... It’s all well and good that it cleans out the nasal passages...
A friend of mine had nose surgery at a standard public hospital...
everything inside her nose just scabbed over, and they actually had to pull it all out using some kind of suction instrument...
Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
It is truly pathetic that people have to weigh whether to go to a private specialist simply because the doctors in our public hospitals are absolutely miserable...
Could you tell me, is the anesthesiologist working with Glusac more experienced, perhaps older?,,..?
Sorry for bothering you with all these questions

And one last thing🙂
I realized that bruising and stuff is possible
I'm curious about the swelling; I've read people saying their nose stays swollen for 3 to 6 months
Is that swelling only noticeable to you, or is it quite obvious to everyone else?
And how soon after can I go out in the sun?
Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnkkkkkkkkkyouuuuuuuu!

His anesthesiologist is top-tier. He usually works at the major hospital in San Diego. I did my homework and made sure to check him out, and it wasn't until I received stellar recommendations from other doctors that I finally decided to go with Glusac. I absolutely loathe anesthesia, and there is zero chance I would ever put my life in the hands of some random amateur. So, as far as the anesthesiologist goes, you have nothing to worry about.

In my case, the swelling wasn't anything dramatic; other people didn't even notice it. Actually, it's only after a year passes that you even realize how much your nose was swollen. But really, it's nothing serious.

I don't recall exactly how soon you can head out into the sun. I do know you have to massage your nose (he will show you how) and that you aren't supposed to wear glasses for a while.
swiftheron55 said:The main thing is being able to breathe properly... I don't even breathe through my nose at all... I sleep with my mouth wide open, it's just awful... which is why I'm not even afraid of the nasal packing, since I don't use my nose anyway...
I heard the cost goes up to about $2,200 maximum.
I really hope it doesn't exceed that amount.🙂
Thank you so much.

I know exactly what you mean; I went through the same thing. Plus, one of my nostrils had almost completely shut up due to a deviated septum, but now, finally, I can actually breathe normally.🙏

Honestly, there is absolutely no reason to fear the nasal packing. Especially the removal—the doctor pulls them out the very next day, so the pain is practically negligible. What truly blew me away about Glusac was how he insists that I come back every few days for nasal cleaning to prevent blood from clotting inside and to make breathing easier. Now, that part? That hurts like hell! He sticks this little tube right up through your nose toward your brain and then suctions everything out. I haven't heard of any other doctor performing such a procedure, quite frankly.

As for my overall experience with the surgery, it was perfectly fine. My nose wasn't even painful; I was bruised, sure, but nothing out of the ordinary for about seven days. It was more of an inconvenience than anything truly terrifying.
swiftheron55 As stated by:
Best of luck to you all!!!
What exactly is Glusac charging these days?
Thank you.🙂

I have already paid the $10. $0.00I have already undergone two separate septoplasty procedures.

That was all three years ago, and frankly, I have no idea what the situation looks like today.

My nose has its own little imperfections, but let's be honest—nobody's nose is perfectly symmetrical or flawless by nature, so I certainly don't lose any sleep over it. I can breathe just fine, and frankly, I think it looks great. I really don't need anything more than that.
rustygardener172 said:Honestly, things are looking up compared to before!😁

It has been three years since my surgery with Dr. Glusac, and I can tell you, I am breathing perfectly now. However, I still find myself having to clear out a little bit of blood from my nose every now and then—even after three whole years! It seems like the healing process is incredibly slow, to say the very least. My advice? Just be patient.
Rachel Martinez94 said:So, why don't you just uncover the secret? 🙂

My primary care physician certainly isn't going to hand out all those specialist referrals to me; I don't live in a major metropolitan hub like NYC, so my options are incredibly limited.

Look, I personally need an EKG and a CBC. You can get an EKG done at basically any local clinic for free—it takes literally five minutes, and I didn't even need a referral for it. As for a full blood panel, you just get a lab requisition from your doctor and get it done. It’s also free, and it's fast.
Megan Wright39 said:Rachel Martinez94, I will make every effort to send those photos over as soon as possible. As for the cost, Smith is charging 2,000 dollars. Furthermore, he insists on a full physical examination—not just standard blood work, but comprehensive testing for hepatitis and all sorts of other things. I opted to handle all my testing privately at $200 through a specialist he recommended, simply because I had absolutely no desire to waste an entire month dealing with the endless bureaucracy and runaround at public hospitals.

🤣🤣

Well, you could have had everything sorted out for free in just a few days, and without having to jump through all those hoops at the hospital.

But fine, if paying for nothing makes you happy, $200go right ahead. Super. 🤷😁
rapidseal16 said:Have you seriously never heard of a metaphor? Where on earth did you get your surgery done...

Well then, can someone please recommend a place where I should go for surgery?

And you’re telling me you wouldn't even undergo a nose job for free with some little celebrity actor, yet this guy performs rhinoplasties on famous socialites... Blanka and Dino Rađa... hello, hello, let's slow down a second...🙂

If he isn't any good enough for an ordinary mortal like me, then who exactly is?

I had my surgery performed by Dr. Smith in Miami. My nose was aesthetically more or less fine—not crooked and not oversized. The issue was purely functional because I couldn't breathe due to a deviated septum, especially at night. It's been two years now, I breathe normally, and my nose looks perfectly fine.

The fact that this little actor does noses for celebrities means absolutely nothing to me. Just like his constant commercials on various TV shows mean nothing to me. It doesn't change the reality that the man is not an Otolaryngologist, and as such, he simply isn't educated enough to be poking around my nose. As for the noses of celebrities and other "stars," I couldn't care less.

Wait, do you honestly believe that the best surgeons actually need to strut around red carpets and appear on "before-and-after" reality shows??? They make their living from the oral referrals of regular "little" people, not from socialites.

By the way, Blanka's nose is a complete anti-advertisement. It's too short, too upturned, too narrow, and aesthetically far too small for her face. And I'll bet my life she can't even breathe properly with that micro-nose of hers.😁

I am simply advising you to think very carefully about whether you want to be operated on by someone just because they fix celebrity noses and parade around on television, or because they are actually an expert and proficient at their job.
rapidseal16 said:I’ll just pay Glumičić so I can actually get some sleep before and after the surgery without losing my mind... who cares about the cost? He is simply the BEST!

I have honestly never heard anyone complain about him... though I’ve certainly heard grievances regarding other doctors at least once or twice.

Does anyone happen to know what Glumičić actually charges?

You really ought to think long and hard about whether you want someone who isn't even a local specialist handling your nose.

The nose serves an incredibly vital function; it’s not purely about aesthetics... and because of that, I wouldn't even consider letting Glumičić touch me, even if he were doing it for free.

As for the tampons, both I and rustygardener172 only had them in for one day. I had my deviated septum repaired two years ago, and so far, everything is fantastic—my breathing is perfect. 🙏

rapidseal16 said:And with Glumičić, I have this nagging feeling that it’s going to feel like a quick trip to the corner store for a loaf of bread...

That’s just how it is. 😉

🤦

Are you even aware that this is a legitimate surgical procedure involving full anesthesia, which carries significant risks??? And there are absolutely no guarantees!

Good grief, nose surgery isn't the same thing as going out to buy a new pair of shoes. This is terrifying.
Nothing actually happens in Clerks, yet it’s an absolute masterpiece.

jadecrane3 said:Hey, Jelena Vuco and Kimberly Robinson55, how are you guys doing? What’s the deal with your noses lately—any actual changes yet?? I’ve noticed that my bridge has narrowed slightly at the top, though the tip seems to be exactly the same... or at least I think it is... if it actually did shrink, it isn't really obvious yet...But what I *have* just noticed is that my entire nose is tilting to the side (the left side).... I mean, when you look at it from underneath (or when I tilt my head back), you can clearly see the nose isn't centered; it's slanted to one side—it looks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa! It's honestly terrifying. I am desperately praying this is just because of the swelling...because even my nostrils look different now... and the tip is totally asymmetrical... when I touch the left side, it feels pointy, but the right side feels rounded... Ugh, it's so hard to explain, someone really needs to see this visually.🙂Oh, and by the way, my first stitch already fell out—I actually ended up pulling it myself...

Well, I feel a bit better now after reading that...🤣
To me, it feels like it's leaning a little to the right... but no, that's just the swelling, since it's much more swollen on that side, and the tip is still puffy too. I went in for my checkup yesterday and everything is fine... the doctor told me I won't be able to breathe properly until after the summer... and that the nose will finally look the way it's supposed to in three or four months. So, there we go. My profile looks great, but the swelling is still there; other people don't notice it, but for heaven's sake, *I* can see it!🤷

My first stitch came out too. The doctor pulled one out yesterday, and the rest should just fall out on their own eventually...

Does anyone happen to have any IGDI lights—you know, the ones with the frayed edges, maybe a little worn down? I’m specifically looking for a skinny fit if possible.

Yesterday, I underwent septoplasty surgery with Dr. Miller in Orlando... and I have nothing but high praise for the surgeon, the anesthesiologist, and the nursing staff. They are an absolutely stellar crew—so incredibly natural and they kept cracking jokes the entire time.🙏:

There’s zero pain, just some swelling under my eyes, but nothing too intense... I'll be having the splint removed this Tuesday. The procedure itself was quite complex, as it was more about functional correction than just aesthetics.

For everyone living in the Southeast region, take my advice: don't bother trekking all the way up to New York or Chicago. Dr. Miller is hands down the premier nose specialist in the country, which explains why he doesn't need to waste money on flashy advertisements. He essentially takes on the toughest cases—the ones where other surgeons have already completely botched the job. Truly impressive work.🙏: 🙏:

This really speaks more to those folks down South... I wouldn't dream of traveling all the way to New York or Chicago just because I feel this doctor is superior to the specialists there, but I am genuinely curious to hear some concrete experiences from fellow forum members here..
Has anyone actually visited Dr. Glušac in Miami?? I have heard nothing but glowing praise regarding his expertise and those cutting-edge techniques he employs during rhinoplasty; besides, he even posts his surgical procedures on YouTube for everyone to see.
Running a fever? in Health ·
For years now, I have been stuck with a persistent temperature ranging between 99.0 and 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit. I have gone through every single diagnostic test imaginable—doctors were throwing around theories about mononucleosis and urinary tract infections—only to eventually be told that nothing is wrong at all! Apparently, this is just my baseline. It’s absurd! I don't even feel "sick" when I hit 99.4; in fact, when I actually start feeling run down and assume I've caught something, I find relief when the thermometer finally drops to 98.2. I honestly haven't a clue what to make of it, but the specialists ultimately concluded it was just some neurological fluctuations and insisted that this is simply my body's natural set point.
