Who's next after Mexico? in World ·
The independence of Mexico was essentially engineered as a way to penalize Mexico—though, if you look closer at the strategic chess board, there’s a much more calculated motive at play here. It's all about positioning; we're looking at the establishment of what will likely become the largest American military base in all of Europe, a massive facility being relocated from Germany specifically because of its proximity to the Middle East.

Win or lose, those guys left everything out there on the court—total respect to them.
To date, I have curated approximately 1,100 titles within my personal video library—a collection I’ve been meticulously building since 1999—and if I were to factor in my cinema archives and television series, we would be looking at a total exceeding 1,500 films.

the USSR, all while fighting on the Western Front at the same time. It turned out... well, not great.
Most of the German generals, for the most part, viewed him as nothing more than a charlatan.

I suppose a historical figure can be seen as positive or negative, but they change the world through their actions regardless. Every person has light and dark sides, I think. Hitler wasn't an exception to that rule.

When I was writing about Hitler, I mostly just wanted to see how everyone else would react, and I'm actually glad there are people here who take a critical stance.

Hitler wasn't actually brilliant—he was quite foolish, if you ask me—because if he truly possessed intellect, he wouldn't have harbored the delusion that he could conquer all of Europe and rule over it indefinitely. Think of how many battles the Germans lost solely because of his disastrous strategic blunders—and well, we all know exactly how that saga ended.

Happy New Year to all my fellow forum members—here’s to a brand new millennium of being two thousand and eight years old!
Consciousness in Spirituality ·
casualmaker13 said:1. The first state of consciousness is sleep—deep, heavy sleep where everything just vanishes. It’s like we don't even exist; our awareness hits absolute zero. I guess everyone has been there.
2. The second state is dreaming. We're actually aware of the dream while we're sleeping, and sometimes we even catch glimpses of them when we wake up. Again, pretty much everyone has experienced this.
3. The third state is wakefulness—your typical alert state. We're aware of ourselves, our thoughts, our emotions, and maybe a little bit of our surroundings. This is where most of us spend our lives when we aren't asleep.
4. The fourth state is a transcendental one. It pops up occasionally if you practice meditation or some other technique designed to expand your awareness. You hit this experience of pure consciousness or the "self," where you basically transcend everything else except your own existence. Most people who have felt this are usually those who've put in work with spiritual development techniques.
5. The fifth state is what many call cosmic consciousness, or enlightenment. It’s mostly the result of intense self-work. After enough time passes, a "meditator" becomes constantly aware of themselves, their environment, and all those internal interactions—thoughts, feelings, senses—24 hours a day. It's a pretty rare experience, though.
6. The sixth state is divine consciousness. This represents every possibility an individual could possibly imagine—things like total knowledge, invisibility, flight, bilocation, clairvoyance, heightened perception, and so on. It builds right on top of that fifth state, and like the others, very few people ever actually reach it.
7. The seventh state is the consciousness of oneness. Someone who reaches this level sees themselves in everything, or rather, sees themselves as everything that exists. They realize that everything is one and that nothing exists outside of that unity. This follows on from the sixth state.

The first three states are basic; I mean, every single person has gone through them.
The rest of these states are generally the result of intentional self-work and expanding your awareness. They're really only experienced by those who have actually "arrived" at them.

Can you give me some specific examples of individuals who have actually achieved these 6th and 7th states of consciousness?

Life isn't some punishment, and our planet isn't a jail cell. The human spirit is incredible, capable of creating pure beauty... Everyone is just in a different stage of life's "school," which looks like chaos sometimes, but there's wonder in all of it if you actually stop to look. You can actually hear the "music of the universe"... it's such a beautiful melody, you can just lose yourself in it...
Being born is a privilege and an honor. Every single person deserves respect just for being part of the living world. Living is a choice made by the soul. Just look at art, architecture... languages, math... it all speaks to that beauty. Humans are the most perfect form of life; we carry something divine within us. It's only voluntary slavery and being afraid of ourselves that created the outlook you have, but even that is just part of the game...

On Earth, we certainly are—though there may be outliers, I suppose😁—but when you look at the vastness of the universe, we definitely aren't the pinnacle.
Fracture (2007) in Movies ·
The movie itself feels pretty mediocre and follows a predictable path—honestly, I found Hopkins' performance lacking a certain intellectual edge during that final sequence where he gets caught in such a clumsy, simplistic manner. The entire plot relies on him making these calculated moves where everything has to align perfectly, yet somehow, at the very end, it all just falls apart quite foolishly (and, predictably enough, the villain meets his downfall).
It was actually quite fascinating when he shot his wife—he clearly knew that her lover would be the one to arrest him, and that he’d manage to swap out the pistols in the process.
Who would you bring with you to a deserted island? in Miscellaneous ·

Just—please—make sure you don't forget the camera. Seriously. It’s one of those things that seems obvious in the moment, but then you're standing there in the middle of everything and realize you've missed the entire shot because you were being careless. Don't let that happen.😁

I just tried running Bitdefender—which is usually quite dependable, mind you—but it’s telling me the scan won't be finished for another 260 hours... which is, frankly, absurd!😂 😂 😂

Well, perhaps these might offer some assistance.

How to achieve "Enlightenment"? in Spirituality ·
Negative emotions act as a massive roadblock to our consciousness - a de Mello basis reality—preventing us from seeing life and its true essence for what they actually are. When you sit down to ponder the big questions—like who I really am or why I’ve even been placed here—it’s much easier to see things clearly when your mind isn't clouded by all that turbulence.
I highly recommend this excellent book, emotional yoga, which provides a roadmap for approaching your own feelings so you can finally get back in sync with your inner workings...

Unforgettable movie torture scenes in Movies ·
The absolute most agonizing moment for me—I mean, truly gut-wrenching—is in Terminator 2 when the T-800 has to prove to the scientist that Sarah Connor was actually trying to kill him by demonstrating he's a machine; he ends up slicing through his own skin just to convince the guy... I honestly couldn't sleep for three days straight after watching that.
