Oh, you absolutely do. Both profiles popped up at the exact same time, and both were exclusively posting in Martial Arts and Science Fringe, which isn't exactly a coincidence... plus, there's an overlap in the IP addresses. Just stop doing this already.

Your post was taken down because you're double-dipping and posting from two different accounts on the same thread, not because of what you actually said. Just pick one profile for Alternative and stick to it...
The clone account has been permanently removed, and this profile is banned for a week.

Where exactly were they supposed to "springboard" to with that board of yours? I don't know if you've been paying attention, but Pušenje is easily one of the most iconic bands in all of the former Yugoslavia.

Jason Mendoza said:I'm totally with you on Psihomodo Pop; they are such a blast and genuinely interesting when you catch them live.

Personally, I find ZP a bit of a snooze... that frontman kills the vibe with all his rambling stories. One time I actually felt like throwing a beer at him. If I wanted to sit around listening to someone talk, I’d just stay home and watch some local news or something.

Back in 2019, I hit up Coachella a couple of times and had an absolute blast. I even caught a Nele Karajlić show later that same year.

Dennis Hall41 said:This week I’ve been torn between listening to Ride the Lightning and just waiting for the devil to show up at dawn.

When you consider the myths and legends surrounding Elvis Presley, or that feeling of waiting for the morning while facing the devil... plus a warm greeting from the heart of Savannah... those are really the only worthy competitors in my book.

Man, you and I are cut from the same cloth—it's a shame I'm not at least 50% gay. 😢

I’ve actually never heard of that Elvis guy, and I wasn't much of a Kurtović listener myself. As for those three Puscifer albums, they each have at least five absolute classics, so picking a single best one is almost impossible... Besides, if you ask me, there isn't a live performance out there better than theirs or Psihomodo Pop.

Easily one of the best, if not the top two, representatives of the rock scene from Sarajevo. As a band, they might be outclassed by The Indexes, but when you look at the sheer weight of this specific album... there just isn't a higher quality work out there in this context...

Man, did he really just lecture him like that...

Don't come crying to me when some pop album from the early 2000s takes the top spot next time. You had Himzo right there in your hands, and you just let it slip away... ☕

Dennis Hall41 said:Yeah, Terence Trent D'Arby, obviously. You guys are idiots.🤣
He kind of reminds me of those singers that the old rock crews used to poke fun at. Like a sort of American soul version of a classic crooner from the mid-century era.

Usually, I’ll just pick a random track from any given album to get a feel for whether the production actually holds up. His stuff sounded pretty solid to me. I had the whole album playing in the background today, and it’s not bad at all—there are even some Caribbean vibes sprinkled in here and there...

I honestly think the most logical move would be to just migrate everything over to LGBTQIAAP.

One colleague here mentioned he was gay. Might as well bring it up on Dan Peder.

Tracklist

  1. Emina
  2. Stade Se Cvijeće Rosom Kititi
  3. Pošetala Suljagina Fata
  4. Jutros Prođoh Kroz Čaršiju
  5. Moj Behare
  6. Lutaj, Pjesmo
  7. Hasanagin sevdah
  8. Na Prijestolju Sjedi Sultan
  9. Azra
  10. Telal Viče
  11. Akšam Geldi
  12. Dvore Gradi Komadina Mujo

He’s easily the most legendary singer of this genre to ever do it... though I’m having a bit of a hard time digging up much deep intel on this specific record. From what I can gather, this seems to be a compilation of his absolute finest singles... definitely make sure you give Emina and Hasanagin sevdah a close listen...

This isn't going to end well; soon enough, the mathematicians are going to swoop in and start lecturing everyone about mathematical sets...

Dennis Hall41 said:Even if nothing else, at least it’s authentic country music; the guy isn't even trying to pretend his comfort zone is anything other than flashy dolls, cheap wine, and smashing glasses. But when some small-town wannabe comes along, smelling like desperation and trying way too hard to be this "urban-rural" hybrid—trying to balance between country hits, reggaeton, pop, and trap—to think he'd actually appeal to everyone... well, that's just being delusional.

What you're getting at doesn't have anything to do with Hulet. He’s a classic country artist, which is light years away from all that trap nonsense being pushed by guys like MC Stojan or Rasta...

Honestly, I think Hulet is genuinely good. He’s got actual talent, he isn't just some poser putting on an act... I can listen to at least 20 of his tracks and really enjoy them.

Lisa Davis46 said:I know this might rub some people the wrong way, but I’m posting it anyway... honestly, I’m just feeling generally disillusioned with these albums lately, and I can't quite put my finger on why it's hitting me this hard. It feels like overnight, the whole point of this thread just evaporated...
this was a topic I actually cared about, the kind of thing that pushed me to take music seriously and constantly dig for something new.

Are we just picking albums for the hell of it now, or what? Can someone please explain why everyone felt the need to go on this sudden crusade and what exactly is going on... have you all just gotten that bored?

I think I finally get where analogbear40 and accident were coming from with all those complaints about the thread recently. Honestly, after dealing with a hundred of these, I think I might need to step away for a while...

Look, if you've got a specific problem, then say it—give me a name and a face. Do you really think your personal taste is the only thing that matters here? If I could stomach listening to some indie singer from Portland singing about her monthly cycle, surely you could find the dignity to keep your opinions to yourself. Half the winners of these polls are total nonsense to me too; it wouldn't be strange if they weren't. It's not the end of the world because of it.

Dennis Hall41 said:The irony here is that this is probably Jessica Morris6's absolute worst suggestion, but honestly, even I would be thrilled if this album took the win. It’s the worst one for me, obviously. My apologies, Jessica Morris6.

Personally, out of all my picks, I think Shemsa and the idea of huliti are the strongest. Shemsa is quite simply a goddess and deserves her own religion—just like that user who started her thread on the forum pointed out...

I asked Jay for an album that packs in the most recognizable hits. "Sunday" and "You Extinguished Me" are top-tier. The first two tracks are pretty famous, though they lean a bit towards the pathetic side, so maybe as a cohesive album, it isn't actually that great...

He who hangs with us lives longer! And he who drinks with us never sees a dull moment! 🙂

Pure poetry!

Džej could probably belt out goat bleating like it was some grand aria; there isn't a single lyric out there he couldn't handle.

Petar Grašo really needs to make the cut this week. Honestly, I feel pretty terrible that I didn't think to include him during such a rough patch in his career... 🤦

J. Amerika ‎– Ko se s' nama druži (1991)

image

Think of it as an Americanized take on the blues, specifically tailored for those lost little souls looking for some solace at the bottom of a glass. This album is packed with tracks that eventually transformed into absolute timeless classics. Much of the lyrical heavy lifting was handled by the legendary Marina Tucaković, while the musical backbone was provided by the iconic Futa & Zlaja bend...
