blueotter21 said:There was plenty of chaos on the track today, mostly because things just weren't holding together. Nelson Piquet ended up in the gravel at turn 6 after part of his front end came loose. He wasn't the only one struggling, either; Robert Kubica, Timo Glock, Jarno Trulli, Lewis Hamilton, Felipe Massa, Giancarlo Fisichella, Sebastien Bourdais, and Fernando Alonso all dealt with spins or sliding off the line.

something fell off 😵

so I guess we're just watching them fall apart on the asphalt now🙂

What kind of car is that🤣 🤣

Back in the Trullia days at the Indy race, you had Heikki Kovalainen getting absolutely hammered by someone with a full KERS charge, basically getting screwed over 😁 , assuming the Toyota crew even manages to show up on time...🤣🤣

Either way, I’m actually glad Lewis Hamilton got penalized; I’ve never been his biggest fan

If you're seriously considering a career as a Formula 1 official, you've already cleared the first hurdle🤣🤣

I'm joking, obviously....😬

You're doing it too...🙏🙏 You know how they say, those who wait...🤣🤣
slynomad32 said:Only McLaren fans would dare make a guess like that, but if you actually take a step back and look at the facts... it’s better to just stay quiet because it's clearly

The reality is that using dry tires on a wet track at those speeds—especially when the car is sliding all over the place in a corner—gives you about one-fifth the grip of an idiot walking through a slushy Chicago winter...🤣🤣

Anyway, let's not derail the thread, I'd appreciate it if we could move on from this debate👍...(you know how it is, mistybear87 is getting up there in years, so they don't catch everything 🙏🙏).....
Edward Howard2 said:Just go check out the thread from the last race and you'll see we were pretty much everyone on this side. 🙏🙏🙏

Absolute spam squared 🙏🙏

If you actually felt that way.... then🙏🙏 what a joke.....

And as for the spam🙏
And that old thread too🙏

We didn't even get a chance to see if there was a KERS difference on the BMW, mostly because Heidfeld went flying off at the first turn—probably ended up with some serious damage, and who knows if his KERS was even working properly after that wreck. Alonso also went wide, so honestly, nobody has any clue what the actual pace of Alonso and the Renault is right now. 😉

And here's another little tidbit , Rubens claims that Kovalainen ripped off his controversial diffuser during a collision at the rear 😲, yet the BGP was still flying despite having a broken front wing; if that story holds water, the BGP is basically the perfect car. 😲 😲

It sounds like Rubens still hasn't figured out what a diffuser actually is. 🙏 🙏 So what's next on the list? A broken diffuser, a snapped wing, a fly in his eye, an urgent need to pee, a numb arm, a sore seat, half-power engine, or maybe a squirrel jumping into the cockpit... 🙏 🙏

Roger Wright94 said:Over at Ferrari, they're claiming that using KERS caused some unexpected issues with the rear tires, basically eating them alive. I honestly can't wrap my head around how they didn't see this coming during all their testing and prep.
They’re drawing comparisons to BMW, who ran the exact same strategy but managed to be a class above them.
The whole KERS situation is still a massive question mark.
So, it's more of the same in Malaysia, and then we'll just have to wait for the fallout. They're going to have to fix this on the fly, and they'll need to move fast.

Look, there are so many rule changes flying around that it's almost impossible to be certain about anything working the way it should, regardless of how much testing or computer simulation you throw at it.
I'm with you on Malaysia... everything's just going to stay messy for now.

hollowhawk412 said:Honestly, one of your predictions from last year was spot on for me.

I’m expecting 1.22 Renault from 🙏 🙏

Since we haven't seen a prediction from Piquet's actually come true more than once, maybe this time will stick 🙏

without all the usual nonsense...

I don't know, it felt to me like during Q2 in Australia, the gap between first and twelfth was only about eight-tenths... and that twelfth spot was Alonso, though he messed up his last flying lap, so he probably could have shaved off another tenth if he hadn't...

But Renault was dealing with two major setbacks (just like McLaren and Ferrari did)... the lack of a double diffuser and that KERS system which seemed like nothing but a nuisance during qualifying...
BMW without KERS was significantly faster... I mean, you're carrying an extra 30 to 40 kg just for something that only gets used for about 6 seconds. It's barely enough time to make a difference.

By the time we hit Malaysia, they'll probably finally decide whether KERS is even worth the headache or not...

Over the next few races, I'm expecting to see a lot of tinkering from Ferrari, Renault, McLaren, and even BMW as they scramble to find new technical solutions...

hollowhawk412, just wanted to say hey 👍 You've been missing from the forum for months now...

I don't see any major shifts in the power rankings happening anytime soon, honestly... they're still busy tinkering with diffusers while waiting for some old guys in suits to make a call... so it’s looking pretty much like Brawn GP is just going to sweep this race too.
Edward Howard2 said:I honestly think we provided more than enough proof last year that Glock let Hamilton through, so there's really no point in dragging out the debate again this season.🤣

You made your point, man, it's just that nobody bothered to listen back then... I've been reading these threads for years and it's always the same thing.🙏 🤣🤣

Spam 🙏🙏
John Bennett4 said:All of this went down during the safety car period; Truly spun out like a complete amateur, so naturally, Hamilton moved ahead. Once he got back on track, Truly fought his way back past Hamilton to reclaim the spot—honestly, what is there to say about that, other than perhaps it might be time for Truly to consider trading the cockpit for a quiet vineyard somewhere out in Napa Valley.🤷

🤣🤣 Somewhere far away from an F1 track...😬

The guy is acting like a complete deer in headlights...😂😂
stormybadger8 said:Please. He hasn't a clue. Massa and Kimi are way better—they smash into barriers, rip out fuel lines, and run over mechanics. Hamilton is a total genius; he drives straight into parked cars in the pits or parks in the gravel right at the pit entry. But oh, Vettel is just "clumsy" because he's actually defending a position during a race. ☕

EDIT:

🤣 Where do you even live? Still stuck in the Michelin era or something? 😕

Everyone uses Bridgestone tires now. 😉

🙏I don't know why I even bother. Clearly, you don't follow Formula 1. 😬

This is just too good.🤣🤣
stormybadger8 said:You forgot Benetton.😉 😁

I mean, why are we digging up stuff from decades ago, especially when you can't even seem to remember what happened just last season?👍
Amanda Kelly said:Honestly, I can barely remember Brawn even existed last year. 🤷

If you don't remember, he's the guy with the short hair and glasses... worked his way through Ferrari... then Honda... and now the whole outfit is basically named after him.😬
stormybadger8 said:http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/74072

Total disaster. They also slapped Trulia with a penalty for absolutely no reason (unless 🤷 is lying), but this whole thing is just ridiculous. I mean, what’s even the point of an SC with only two laps left?🙄 Stopping the race and deciding the podium based on the current standings☕ is pointless. Nothing was going to change in those two laps anyway, unless they wanted to pull stunts like this one.🙄

And of course, we get another guy celebrating on the podium only to end up with zero points at the next race.🙄

The FIA claims they want overtaking and excitement, yet they penalize drivers for actual racing incidents.😵 What's next? Penalizing anyone who happens to be significantly faster than the rest during qualifying? It's awful. I honestly have a feeling that in seven days, they'll be handing out penalties to BGP or whoever manages to land on the podium. This situation with Toyota makes zero sense anymore; they might as well sell the whole team for a dollar just to stop dealing with this nonsense.😢

Trulli is a joke... he spun off under the SC, Hamilton passed him because there was no sense waiting around for him to get back on track, and then Trulli actually overtook him while still under the SC... it was pathetic.☕

But I really don't get your point... last year a deserved win was stripped away, and so on... the FIA is famous for having rules that are in total shambles, so why is this any different? There’s going to be so much chaos both on and off the track for the rest of the season that it’s becoming laughable.🙏 🙏
stormybadger8 said:Haha, that's exactly why Kubica keeps insisting it's all Vettel's fault.🙄

Everyone knows he’s at fault, just like Sebastian Vettel. If he hadn't lashed out, people would be tearing him to shreds right now. Honestly, calling this one of the biggest blunders in F1 history is something only someone who’s actually watched a season or two would say.🙄

Look, I wouldn't go so far as to say Robert Kubica is some kind of loose cannon who just lashes out at anyone for the sake of it. The kid just got caught in a bad situation, lost his footing, and both of them ended up getting the boot. It happens. You don't need to keep hammering home that they were both world-class drivers; things just went south, it was a mess, and that’s the end of it.☕
stormybadger8 said:No, it’s not. According to this, the crew got hit for one thing, while Vettel got penalized for an on-track incident. 👎 This makes zero sense.😢

It’s not even about Vettel having to cough up fifty grand; it's more about the fact that his team basically ordered him to limp back to the pits on three wheels instead of just pulling off onto the grass like any sane person would. I remember seeing something similar back in the day during a rainy race in Seattle, where a driver was forced to grind through a broken car just to satisfy some corporate metric, and honestly, watching someone struggle through that kind of nonsense just feels exhausting.
