Congrats to Vettel on the win. The trophy haul just keeps coming, it seems.

To be fair, out of all the nonsense being rambled about, he’s actually right when he says Red Bull has the best package. It’s an objective truth. This specific pairing of Vettel and Red Bull, without any real competition in sight, is currently unbeatable and they deserve the title.

You have to accept defeat when you lose to someone better. This year, we’re losing to someone better. That’s all there is to it.

Now I’m just hoping Kimi actually shows up and squeezes out every last bit of potential Alonso has left. Like I said before, if Alonso pulls a disappearing act (which I don't think he will), I'll be disowning him as a fan immediately.

Honestly, is your entire life purpose really just trying to prove Fernando Alonso isn't any good? Did someone pay you to be this bitter, or do you just dream about him every night and need to vent the frustration?

Just try enjoying the racing for once...

Props to him. No whining about a bad car or any of that usual drama. He just stepped up, owned the result, and didn't try to throw the Adrian Sutil boy under the bus. 👍

The kid has definitely grown up. 👍
I'll be rooting for him tomorrow. Hopefully he can grab at least a podium spot.🙂

Yeah, he’s matured. And you're right—there's none of that finger-pointing where someone claims "it was the team" or whatever typical excuse Fernando Alonso would use. He's becoming the real deal. Honestly, once Alonso moves on, I think I'll be rooting for him.

Honestly, Alonso proved today he’s just a total fraud, not championship material.
That guy is destined to be second best forever... seriously, every single time he actually has a real shot and the right tools, he completely chokes.

If he couldn't even grab a Pole this time, then he's absolutely hopeless...
If I remember correctly, you were just arguing a little while ago that Alonso is faster than Massa in qualifying by half a second... which I shut down with a mountain of data proving it's more like 0.350...

Now, just do the math: look at where Massa is—who nobody is helping through qualifying—compared to Vettel, and then imagine where Alonso would be if he were 0.300 to 0.500 slower...

Based on all the rumors and everything going on, it looks like Alonso might be getting his walking papers from Ferrari soon.
If this pattern of Massa being faster continues in the races and during qualifying in Singapore, then it’s obvious: LdM ate dirt, signed a deal with Kimi, and they're getting rid of Alonso.
Finally, Massa might actually get a real chance to show what he's worth compared to that Spanish politician.

He won't be "eternal second" since he already has two titles under his belt. So, he did manage to win something after all.

As for today, I don't see where you found some massive opportunity. Maybe for 3rd place? That's hardly a life-changing opening.

Joseph Peterson8 said:He didn't necessarily need the top spot, but if he's truly as good as everyone claims, he should have at least secured P3.

So, you have one guy—supposedly the most talented driver on the grid, a legitimate title contender, driving the fastest car in qualifying—who ends up digging through the grass in a corner and fails to even make it out of Q2. So what does that tell you?

Raymond Anderson4 said:If he wants to be remembered as someone who expects a royal court to cater to his every whim, then fine, let him have it.
Personally, I couldn't care less... but people are going to stop buying into this myth of him being some otherworldly driver if he keeps acting like this.
Go check out the Ford thread over on ESPN; the fans there are losing their minds over him, while his die-hard supporters are busy posting deep philosophical pleas for everyone to just give Massino a break.

lol

Look, the team decided that if they didn't nail it at Indianapolis Motor Speedway or Singapore, the season was basically a wash. Naturally, they were going to try everything they could. What else were they supposed to do—sit there like losers and watch it happen without trying anything? It didn't work. So what?

As for the fans, let them think whatever they want. The way that guy operates is such a specific psychological anomaly it belongs in a research paper; I’m not wasting my energy on it. Alonso did his job at Ferrari perfectly well. He performed exactly at the level expected of him. He didn't win any titles because others were better, fair enough. Moving on.

Those pathetic radio exchanges were just painful to listen to.
Now I'm scrolling through the Ferrari thread seeing all this talk about how they "wanted to maximize results" and blah blah blah.
Look, if your idea of maximizing results involves forcing someone else to take the hit, then you've already lost. That's just sad.

What part of this don't you get? They're the weaker team. This was their last shot at making something happen, so they had to go all in. It didn't work, and now everyone thinks they're idiots, right?

Don't start with the empty clichés. I'm on my phone right now and it's not exactly convenient, but don't worry—you'll get the full breakdown soon enough. Everything is documented.
graniteharbor502 said:Poncije, you're lagging behind here. Even steelmaker83 already tried to push that same old line. And personally, I’ve identified the true standout. It isn't Sebastian Vettel, nor is it Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Räikkönen, or even Fernando Alonso... If we look at who might actually find their rhythm this Sunday, it could very well be Mark Webber, leading him to a much-deserved win.

Graniteharbor502, do you even realize what you've just said in these last few posts? You basically pulled a complete 180 and effectively admitted you've been trolling for no reason at all.

Just like your followers, you've turned into one big fraud.
graniteharbor502 said:If you are implying Fernando Alonso, one has to consider that even when he was seated in truly top-tier machinery, he never actually managed to secure a victory at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Not once. And that is on a track that offers absolutely no surprises. Unlike your specific line of reasoning, I wasn't focusing my thoughts on any single individual; rather, my sentiment was simply that whoever—regardless of whether it be someone like Fernando Alonso or another—demonstrates the most brilliance should be the one to claim the victory.

Are you aware that you're basically shooting yourself in the foot with this post?
graniteharbor502 said:If you all find such immense pleasure in watching things fall apart and crash, perhaps you would be better served by tuning into a demolition derby instead.
As for this Sunday's race, I am simply holding onto the hope that every driver manages to cross the finish line safely and that, ultimately, the most deserving athlete claims victory.

Hardly likely the "best" wins when they're driving absolute junk, but sure, let's all hope for that fairy tale ending.
I’m not looking for just one cow to drop dead on this trip, I’m hoping for at least five or six of them.

stormybadger8 said:It’s like Lady Luck decided to bail them out just enough to make their incompetence look almost intentional. They completely nullify their own stupidity regarding that free pitstop, only to turn around and commit the most brainless error possible...
Take Fernando Alonso, for instance. He absolutely should have gone for the Soft tire during the SC period.
Imagine restarting right on the gearbox of the leading team while running tires that are barely a second faster per lap...
Look at the data: Alonso was 1.1 seconds faster than Grosjean, about 0.700 ahead of Sebastian Vettel, and 0.300 ahead of Kimi (on the softs😳)...
And at that exact moment, everyone ahead was still sitting on Medium tires.😳
Faster rubber, better top speed, and two DRS zones to play with...

Even if he had burned through those tires relatively quickly, it wouldn't have mattered. He would have held the position in front of them, and more importantly, he would have been the first one in the pits, allowing him to run fast laps in clean air... which would have coincided perfectly with when Vettel, Grosjean, and Kimi started closing in on the backmarkers...

All in all, a total tactical failure not just for Lotus, but for Ferrari as well.
The competition essentially shot themselves in the foot during a race where they actually had a massive chance to capitalize...

Mercedes wasn't even really in the mix, yet they managed to screw up by having Nico Rosberg hold up Lewis Hamilton, despite them being on completely different strategies...
Extremely strange and incredibly foolish on Rosberg's part...

I'm not so sure about that... yesterday, overtaking wasn't particularly easy (this was actually a perfect example of a race where DRS was utilized effectively and showed why it's arguably necessary in this formula), even with a car that's a full second faster.

Everyone ran into issues—Alonso with Lewis Hamilton, Lewis Hamilton with Nico Hülkenberg, and I can't recall who Mark Webber struggled with. So, assuming someone could build a gap on the restart with softer tires, that advantage would likely just evaporate once the pit stops happened anyway... there's no logic to it...

They did the only thing that made sense: put on the softer tires when the car was at its lightest and try to pick up a position at the very end when there's nothing left to lose.

What's a much bigger enigma to me is that first pitstop window, which was practically identical to when those on the softer tires pitted... I mean, wtf.

As I predicted before the season started, Hamilton and Mercedes will soon be getting left in the dust by Red Bull...
Of course, everyone was laughing their heads off back then, but I’d say it isn't looking quite as funny for them anymore...

Hamilton and Mercedes will be getting smoked by Red Bull soon enough, and you won't be laughing either....

Even without all that tire bullshit, I still think it would have been Felipe Massa first. 🙏
Man, you only see a start like that once every twenty years.😳

Just brilliant... just as good as Lewis's qualifying lap. 🙏

He went straight into the line of fire. 🙂

Does anyone actually know what the tolerance threshold is for reaction times at the start, similar to how they measure it for track athletes?
